Guest Reviews of the Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport

There are three reasons why you would end up staying here:
1. You found it at a fire sale
2. You're traveling with your neurotic asian mother, and she feels safer staying
by the airport
3. You got stuck at Vancouver airport and needed a decent airport hotel.
That being said, 1 and 2 were true for me when I stayed here. And hey, it wasn't
bad. We had driven up from Seattle, so armed with a car, Vancouver attractions
and shopping were all still pretty accessible from the Airport Sheraton. Rooms
were fine, service was fine, views and location were well ... airport-style. It
was in close proximity to an Asian supermarket and tons of Asian food though, so
my mom was definitely happy!
So yeah, it was A-OK.

Richmond hotels don't get too much better than this -- especially if you're on a
budget. My previous stays here were fantastic. My beds were extremely comfy and
the customer service was great. The last two times I had stayed here the room
rate was roughly $67 CAD a night, which is a steal these days. Being that its so
close to the airport and decent enough not to look like a hooker laden motel
joint, I vote this place a solid place to stay for visitors to the great city of
Richmond.
Also, they have a shuttle that runs from the hotel virtually every hour and the
schedules are at the front desk upon check in. Try and get the rooms closer to
the lobby, they're not near the elevator or as noisy as the second floors.Guest Reviews of the Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport

We were offered an upgrade for a very small additional amount and were given a
suite which was quite spacious with a sitting room and separate bedroom. The
king bed was very comfortable and nice amenities in the bathroom. Separate sink
and vanity from shower/tub and toilet. Ate in their dining room twice and
enjoyed their excellent menu and great service.
The Richmond Mall is diagonally across the street and the whole area offers
plenty of other restaurants and shopping; plus it’s very close to the airport.

Only stayed one night but the room was very spacious, clean and convenient.
Great view and in close proximity of restaurants and a shopping mall. Very
convenient location in Richmond with free airport shuttle. Clean room very
suitable for business travellers.

I booked this hotel after considering the location and personal need (night
flight and want to be rested ASAP upon arrival). I paid the lowest internet rate
for 4 nights; average cost per night is CDN 142.50 not including taxes. I was on
my return trip back to Hong Kong after business meeting in Denver.
+ excellent hotel location (near airport; shopping mall on the opposite; Chinese
and western restaurants nearby)
+ free Pepsi max (a can; probably in promotion) and a bottle of water in room
each day
+ quick check-in
+ swipe card to access elevator to floor
My room is on 6th floor . The room is decorated traditionally. Bed is good. 30"
LCD TV is good. Overall speaking, the lowest internet rate I paid is still a
little bit more expensive, but for a short stay I am ok with it.

We have been staying at this property for about 7 years and had a chance to
return this month twice. For us, this hotel is clean, quiet and in a convenient
location near the Vancouver Airport and with completion of the Skytrain project
this Summer (2009) this property will be an even more desirable one for short
stays.
Check in, check out always smooth with staff members Jonathon, Anne or Jason, 24
hour shuttle, free wireless internet (checked speed via Speakeasy indicated 5000
down and 1500 up), lots of shopping and walking nearby and nice comfy beds are
more than enough for us.
Our fav Korean Restaurant is about a10 minutes walk over near the Hilton and
Marriott is called Kimchi Nara Korean BBQ. It's on the second level of the
London Drugs store. A well known LPGA star eats there whenever she is in town
and her picture is on their wall.

The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The room is of average size.
Hotel provides free shuttle to and from the airport. There are a lot of Chinese
restaurants around. The only thing which I don't like is there are too many
pillows on the bed. However, on the whole it is a good hotel near the airport
and I have no problem choosing this hotel if I visit Vancouver again.

The service is great, and you must order room service. The food is delicious and
great in portions. I usually don't order room service, but I will again. It took
less than 30 minutes and prices were quite reasonable. They pay attention to
detail.
The hotel is very tidy and the workout room has lots of machines, plus two tv's.
The front desk was very accommodating and provided me a late checkout with no
problem. The night manger on duty was excellent (sorry I didn't catch his name),
and the security guard was actually quite friendly!
I definately recommend this hotel to anyone. Keep it up!

I passed a night in the Vancouver Airport Four Points as I need to pick up my
other half at the airport the next morning.
Arriving at the airport, I called the hotel front-desk for the shuttle pickup
which arrives 10 minutes later as promised.
I was surprised at the size and airiness of the hotel lobby. This is not your
usual minimal Four Points lobby, it is in a good modern lobby. The check-in was
quick and I was given a room upgrade based on my SPG status. The corner room on
the 4th floor was of decent size with a new and comfortable king bed. An reading
chair and its ottoman is standard next to the bed. A work desk and TV/drawer
rounded out the room. Like all Four Points, wireless high speed Internet is
available for free.
The star of this Four Points upgraded room is the bathroom. Excellent size with
lots of room. There is one standing shower room as well as a jacuzzi which I did
not have the time to use. The amenities are standard Four Points fares which is
of decent quality.

The hotel situated in Richmond and in what virtually can be called as a
mini-Chinatown. There are blocks and blocks of Chinese/Japanese/Korean
restaurants to pick from. The plus side is that they also opens pretty late so
there would be no problem of getting a late night snack.
This Four Points is closer to a Sheraton than the usual run of the mill Four
Points. I would not be surprised if one day it will be upgraded to full Sheraton
status.
Liked — clean and confortable room, excellent lobby

I love this hotel. I travel to Vancouver (and area) a couple times each month
for work and I always stay here. Only once did I ask to change rooms (I was put
on the 3rd floor and detected a stale smoke smell). The staff are very friendly
and some remember me by name. The gym is fantastic - large mirrors and windows,
3 tvs, 2 ellipticals, 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, a bench, and a large assortment of
free weights, all brand new.
As for the area, the Korean restaurant next door is great (but spicy!), there is
also a McDonald's, Earls, Cactus Club, Milestone's, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, etc.
less than 5 min away on No. 3 Road. For good shopping, Richmond Center is 5 min
away and downtown Vancouver is only 20 min away, via Granville St..

The hotel is conveniently located in an area with many restaurants and across
the street from a large shopping center. It's only about a ten minute drive from
the airport. Despite its central location, our room was quiet.
The front desk staff is eager to please and check-in/check out times were
speedy. We did, however receive incorrect driving directions from one of the
front desk staff, based on Google maps.
The hotel's restaurant serves an excellent breakfast. The staff is sincerly
pleasant and quite efficient. The range of items on the menu is quite broad and
pricing is average for hotel restaurants.
The rooms are spacious, the hotel is well maintained and the housekeeping is
excellent. The room we had was equipped with a large tub and a separate shower.
The hotel charges hotel guests for parking, which seems discriminatory given
that it has an ungated, unattended lot where restaurant guests, conference
attendees and the general public are free to come and go without paying.
Despite the minor complaints, I would return to this hotel, but next time I will
ask management to waive the parking fee.

Did a quick trip to Vancouver and found an award stay here at the Four
Points. Great location if you love Chinese food and everything Chinese,
since it's situated in Richmond. Rooms are good sized - we squeezed two
adults, two babies.

I picked this hotel for a stopover mainly because of a late flight
arrival from New York JFK. The flight was delayed and I had to wait even
longer for my snowboard, so I didn't get out of the airport until 3am.
Despite this late, the hotel shuttle (free) came within 10-15 mins after
a call request and my room was ready as soon as I arrived at the
reception. This service was as described and very good - I know some YVR
airport hotels do not offer 24-hour complimentary shuttle - so check!
With my gold SPG status, I was also upgraded to a corner room without
even asking (correct me if I am wrong but I bet platinum get suites) and
the room was exactly like the photos a previous reviewer posted here.
It's my first time in the 4pts, room was nice but fewer room amenities
(e.g. bathrobe, other fancy stuff that I don't even use at home) and I
certainly didn't feel suffered. The most important thing for me was the
bed and a good night sleep, and I was very happy with what they had to
offer (bed comfort was fine, perhaps slightly less luxurious than a
Sheraton or Westin heavenly bed). I also took advantage of the free wifi
which was great and easy to connect. I only stayed for a 6-hour sleep so
didn't have time to try out the private Jacuzzi or room service menu
(though the choices were good and figures were reasonable). My rating of
"Excellent" is based on price and their offering for my stay purpose.
One final note on location - you may like to consider a more central
location if you are touring Vancouver rather than a transit stopover,
great for me transferring to Whistler, the hotel is also in a nice Asian
neighborhood so it's great for dim sums before heading off to get some
snow.
