I was here in January 2012 for business for 2 nights with a client. The first
night I had an amazing meal in the hotel dinning room.
As we needed to conduct meetings at the hotel, the front desk recommended paying
the $100 per day to use the Gold Lounge which has a large boardroom and provides
free breakfast and canapes.
I have traveled extensively for business and never experienced the high level of
service I received in the Gold Lounge from Jarret and his staff. Food in the
Gold Lounge was also outstanding.
I will certainly book all further stays in Vancouver at this Fairmont property.

We stayed here for one night prior to an early morning flight, having stayed
here in the past. We wish we could have stayed longer! From the first contact
with bell staff who greeted us by name through to check out, we felt like VIPs.
The excellent service was a real contrast to the last hotel we had been in - and
made us much more likely to choose the Fairmont brand over others. The hotel had
just had a fire alarm when we arrived, so no elevators were working. However,
the staff member who checked us in didn't leave our side until we were
comfortably ensconced in the lounge by the fireplace, with a drink order taken.
She even offered to walk us up many flights of stairs to our room. The hotel
manager personally called us to offer his apologies for the fire alarm and offer
his assistance. Room service was friendly and efficient, with excellent food
(including the kids menu). The room itself was clean and quiet, with a lovely
large bathtub and a great view of the runway and terminals. The kids loved
looking through the telescope. All requests were handled properly. It was a
lovely end to our trip, and we will certainly return.

We recently stayed overnight arriving late flight before heading to Whistler.
Great staff, convenient location and upscale, well maintained furnishing and
bathroom. Join President's club for free wifi. Kids enjoyed using the telescope
in room.

If you are looking for comfort , class & customer service that exceeds every
other airport hotel you have come to the right place. Best airport hotel ever!
Just amazing service and rooms. So convenient to the airport , and if you want
choices on where to eat you can go down to the terminal. Comfortable beds and
great staff.
Room Tip: This airport is IN the airport. NO shuttle needed. Just a short
escalator ride.

This Hotel is walking distance from the baggage collection area of the airport.
The aircraft are visible but there is no noise.
The staff are friendly and the meals excellent.
It is the best airport hotel I have ever stayed at and is highly recommended.

It is my absolute favourite to stay a night before an early departure (or a late
one :). The service, the beds, the restaurant/bar and the gym all make it a
fantastic property. Globe @ YVR (the restaurant) has great food (on the pricey
side), but love that they use local and sustainable product. The ambience is
great- floor to ceiling windows look out the runway and the fireplace in the
centre of the room is beautiful. The rooms are clean, spacious, very quiet and
bathrooms are nice and open. If your not comfortable with an open bathroom, this
is just a pre-warning that there are no solid doors, they are shutter like so
noises and such travel. The check in/out service is friendly, helpful and first
class. The gym is good with newer equipment, clean, and spacious. Great place to
start the day or wind down.
Also nice to see that they have changed their toiletries to a line called "La
Labo". Overall a great place to start or end a trip. Very highly recommend to
everyone.

Let me start by saying that the last time I stayed at a hotel within an airport
was in Bangkok so my expectations were looooow. That being said, this is a
pretty sweet place. Check in was a little fumbled: only one person doing check
ins on the evening I arrived and a high maintenance lady ahead of me modifying
every single aspect of her reservation right at that moment! Finally someone
else arrived and helped out with check ins.
The rooms are pretty spacious and clean. The bathrooms are a bit weird: there is
a sliding louvered window separating the bathroom from the bedroom. This is a
little strange to me and if you are staying with someone you are not super
comfortable with, can make for some awkward moments/sounds/sights! my 3 year old
thought it was super fun to crawl in and out of te bathroom though that "window"
though!
I stayed on the 5th floor...same as the gym/spa. Took advantage of the jacuzzi...nice
and clean and hot! The gym equipment is all new-looking with individual tv/Internet
access on the cardio equipment. Kind of fun to work out and look out over people
checking their luggage or going through security! Needless to say, you are a few
steps from getting checked in and boarding your plane yourself. It doesn't get
more convenient than this! Free wifi throughout the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again if I was doing a quick in and out of
Vancouver.

I've stayed here three times before and had nothing to complain about. With my
last stay, there were two vexing issues. One was that there was a horrid,
high-pitched, non-stop whistling sound coming through the door area. After some
investigation, I discovered that it was coming through the bottom of the door
and it was a strong current in the hallway, generated from the air conditioning,
I presume. I was too tired to ask for a room change so I just shoved a Fairmont
towel in front of it and it stopped. The other problem was that during my second
night when I was having a shower, the hot water just turned cold suddenly for a
good five minutes. I waited patiently, and when it did come back, I stopped
shivering and continued.
Although this is a good hotel (usually), those people calling it 'luxury'
exaggerate (depends on one's standards, I suppose). It is clean (except for the
windows), with standard hotel furniture and decor and services. The location is,
of course, very convenient, it's quiet and the beds are comfortable. If staying
with others, bear in mind that the bathroom and loo are not very private. |
