How smart is it to have a hotel right in the Airport? You can check in and run back up and shower and wait till you need to get to the Gate.

I missed my flight back to SF one day. It was about 6am in the morning, extremely tired but the Fairmont rescued me. They had a Signature room for me and once I got in, I just plopped onto that wonderful cloud of a bed.
I just sunk in and fell asleep. The room had high ceiling with ceiling high windows. A view of the runways and you didn't even hear the planes roll by. A nice flat screen with bose stereo-cd player~ They also addressed you by Mr. when you called them and was very very service orientated.

The bathroom was amazing~ I just laid in that tub and just sunk into the warm steaming water. I haven't had a bath since I was in 3rd grade. It was just amazing...even had nice robes for you in the bathroom too.

Downstairs you have a nice lounge and bar area with a fireplace. I just sat their drinking my cappuccino next to the fire listening to the Piano. It was a wonderful last night in YVR...so sad to go

When these Canadians build an airport hotel, they don't mess around! This is a beautiful hotel right in the terminal. Yeah, you read that right. You get off the plane and enter a bustling terminal full of confused travelers and a short 5 minute walk later, you are entering another world. From the lobby you can look down and see the mad crush of people, but you can't hear a thing.

I am here for two days of meetings and I am just amazed at what they have pulled off here. Every employee is helpful and friendly and the room itself is beautiful. They upgraded me to a room on the Gold level and there is a lounge just down the hall which serves a very nice full breakfast in the morning and cocktails and food throughout the day, no extra charge.

And for cocktails, I'm not just talking about cheap beer and jug wine. There is a full self-serve bar with top shelf booze that would make any drunk proud. There is even some very lovely single-malt. I've traveled a lot, but I've never seen anything like this.

We had booked a basic room here for our final night in Vancouver before an early morning flight (Downtown in quite a way from the airport and we preferred to sleep in a little and not worry about traffic). Unlike other "airport" hotels in the area, this is the only one that is actually at the airport complex. One can simply walk downstairs into the international check-in area.

When we checked in to the hotel we got a lovely surprise... they upgraded us to their Gold Level (larger and more plush rooms, high level, free breakfast and evening nibbles, free WiFi). Our room had a beautiful view over the airport and up to the mountains. They even supplied viewing binoculars to admire the scenery. To our surprise, we couldn't hear anything from the aircraft engines.

The restaurant was gorgeous. Lovely views, great decor, and the most delicious menu (maple glazed pacific salmon with a glass of ice wine... yum!).

Only one negative. Had we not been upgraded to Gold Level, the internet usage is not included in the basic room rates, and the business centre also charges for general internet usage. At the price-point of this hotel I would expect complimentary internet. After all, far cheaper places Downtown include free internet and/or WiFi.

We almost felt that such a nice hotel was wasted at the airport, where one really typically is just passing through. On the other hand, it was great to have such a nice hotel at an airport, where oftentimes we feel, one does not have great choices. We were extremely happy with our stay here. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Bedding was very comfortable. It was pretty cool to be staying literally in the middle of the airport - runways on one side and airplane gates on the other. It was remarkably quiet, considering the location and we were never bothered by airplane noise, even with huge picture windows. While it was too rainy and foggy to truly appreciate the views, we caught glimpses of the mountains beyond the airport and it was a great backdrop from our room. I would say the only real "issue" with the room was the bathroom design, which really doesn't allow for much privacy. From the sink/tub/shower area there are sliding lovered doors to the bedroom that do not necessarily close all the way and if one is modest can be a bit revealing. The toilet itself is behind louvered doors, which also don't allow for great privacy. When one uses any part of the bathroom, all sounds go right into the bedroom - it's as if no doors are closed at all. This is fine if you're traveling alone, but might be an issue for others - especially if on different sleep/wake schedules. The electronics mentioned by others, while maybe a bit over the top, are quick to catch onto, and you can just stick to the basics that you need without making it overly complicated. Hotel services were great - nice restaurant and bar area and good gym. No issues with the staff. The one thing it would be nice for the hotel to have is some sort of a convenience store. None exists and you are sent to the airport terminal for any basic needs. Not a huge deal, but it could be useful to have something in the lobby that sells your basic water/snacks/sundries, etc. Overall, a great and convenient hotel if one needs or wants to be near the airport. When they say in the airport, they mean it - the hotel entrance is literally in the main terminal. No problem at all for our family, with several bags, to walk directly to the entrance of the hotel and check in.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times mainly for business. Great meeting rooms, great food, great service and comfortable guest rooms. What more can you ask for. It adjoins the airport so you don’t have to leave the building - go downstairs and you’re in the terminal. The rooms are so well insulated that you don’t hear any noise from the airport. Book through Allure Hotels and you get a decent rate - - don’t book through the hotel unless money is no object.

near perfect hotel on every level ... if I could run a hotel, this is how it would be operated. The hotel was just next to the airport. It can’t get any more convenient! The hotel is first class, with a fabulous gym and spa amenities. Every major airport should have a hotel like this right at the airport!

We stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel on a flight stopover. This is a first class property in every respect, including the property itself as well as all the staff. It has all the amenities one would expect from 5 star location. This hotel is located within the terminal building and there is an airline check in kiosk in the lobby. It is a very convenient location if one is connecting through Vancouver. There is no question we would stay at Fairmont Vancouver Airport again.

Very nice, if pricey, accommodations right in the airport terminal. Excellent breakfast buffet. Best of all we were able to get up in the morning, check in for our flight and the return to the room for a shower and some relaxation before we had to pass through security.

I stayed at the hotel because a friend and I had an early morning flight to Tokyo. The hotel was really great although as a modern hotel it lacks the ambiance that draws me to the Fairmont heritage hotels in Canada. I loved the fact that if I hadn't been sharing the room with my friend I could have opened the shutters and sat in the bath watching flights take off on the runway. The bathroom by the way is lovely. The room was nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The airport view is fantastic if like me you love airplanes.

If you are trying to justify the price of this hotel you can save a few $ by eating your meals at the fast food chains in the airport. I plan to stay there again as soon as possible!

Have stayed at this Fairmont several times before catching a flight home to the U.S.A.
Friendly, helpful staff and stunning views of YVR, perfect for the aviation enthusiast. Totally soundproof, can't hear even a bit of airplane noise.
Beautifully appointed rooms! Great bar/restaurant/food!
On this visit I was upgraded to an incredible suite because they did not have any other King bed room available for me.
Spa is lovely but pricey. Love, love, love this hotel!

We have stayed at this hotel twice now, both times because we had to catch a flight early in the morning. This last time, we had been flying for 15 hours and dealt with delays that only got us to Vancouver at 2 am. We were so tired and cranky. But once we got to the Fairmont, we felt a thousand times better. The staff is friendly and quick. And a soak in the tub in the beautiful bathroom was all it took to make us feel less weary. The beds are huge and really comfortable with lots of soft pillows. It's a bit pricey considering most people probably don't spend much time here except to sleep. But the luxury of stepping off of your plane and practically into bed is priceless.

Stayed here one night with wife and kids while traveling through YVR. Had a deluxe room with a great view of the tarmac. Overall a very nice room and excellent service. Incredibly convenient if you are catching an early morning flight. The Globe restaurant in the hotel is also great. I will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport for a mere 24 hours recently. When we arrived, it was fairly early in the day, 11 ish, but we had just been on a cruise, so we did not have a choice of the arrival time at the airport. When I checked in, our room was ready and they let us go up. We were quite impressed as the usual check in time is 3. The room was impressive, large and bright. If I ever find myself needing to stay in Vancouver, I will definitely consider this hotel again.

Spent 2 weeks in Vancouver. Husband is an avid plane spotter so decided to stay last night at Fairmont. Stayed on the Gold floor. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Canapes and complimentary breakfast served in lounge.
Rooms were well appointed, bathroom was fantastic. Perfect for plane spotting! Some great photos of the aircraft.
So relaxing the next morning to check in our luggage and then wander back to our room for breakfast, and spend the morning relaxing before our flight back to England. Well worth it.

We have to echo all of the reviews that came before ours--we had a truly restful experience at this hotel. The room was very nicely appointed, but the piece de resistance is by far-- the bathroom. We so enjoyed how the bathroom was configured that we could hardly leave. Our room overlooked Gates 83 etc. but we could not hear a noise from anything outside or inside the hotel. And the convenience of checking in the next day at NW airlines, literally "floored" us. Have to say, the food in the downstairs lounge was excellent, as were the cocktails and the ambiance--very restful after a hard day of traveling! Kudos to the Fairmont Vancouver Airport.-- We would return.

This is a beautiful hotel. Very relaxing experience. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Rooms have a telescope so you can watch planes, the water, etc. Super comfortable bed, great bathroom...flexible check-out times, and you can't really hear the planes! You are just steps away from the ticket counters. Could not be a more pleasant travel experience. Beautiful bar and restaurant, although the bar staff was not top form. Otherwise the staff was very courteous.

We had to catch an early flight and stayed here to avoid a long drive and morning rush traffic. Outstanding in every conceivable way. The staff bent over backwards and the room was a dreamscape. Subsequently I have had dinner here while waiting for a flight about three or four times. Every time I have been welcomed and cossetted. This is a Vancouver treasure !

We stayed here overnight after arriving from Quebec and before leaving for Australia. It was wonderful to just have to walk through the airport without catching cabs etc. and even better the next morning when we just wandered casually downstairs, after a leisurely breakfast, to check in.
We were upgraded to the executive floor - not sure why - maybe because we had stayed in a Fairmont earlier in our trip. This gave us complementary drinks and nibbles, the use of a computer in the lounge, and breakfast in the morning. Although the breakfast was only advertised as continental there was a huge choice and two hot dishes. Excellent.
We had dinner in the restaurant, not expecting much but needing to eat somewhere. It was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip with superb service.
As others have said, it is a very quiet hotel. We heard no noise from outside or other rooms and had a wonderful nights sleep to set us up for the long journey home.
