This hotel was very modern but I could not believe that the television
was over 25 years old.
The bathroom was super large and the shower was top class but the
television ruined the whole experience for me

Thank you for your review of our Hotel I was happy to hear that you
enjoyed everything about our hotel except the T.V.'s. I am sorry to hear
that the T.V.'s did not meet your satisfaction. The T.V.'s are all being
replaced this year with new flat panel T.V.'s I hope next time you are
in the area that you will try us again and enjoy the new T.V.'s. I hope
while you were here you did get to experience our brand new Fitness

This is a modern, clean, quiet hotel with the amenities you would expect
for a hotel with this rating. It is about 10-15 minutes from Vancouver
International and there is a free shuttle service that runs every half
hour.
The rooms are very modern with comfortable beds and large bathrooms
complete with granite counter tops. I was only here for one night but I
cant really complain about anything.... it exceeded my expectations.

Just completed a 5-night stay at the Holiday Inn a few days ago, and I
was pretty pleased with our choice. We booked it through Priceline, so
we only paid $50/night, which was the main reason we were pleased. The
hotel itself was a standard 3-star hotel, and we actually had a couple
of hiccups when we first checked in. First off, the first night they
were out of king rooms, so my girlfriend and I had to stay in two beds.
They fixed this the next day for us, though. Next, we had trouble
originally requesting a fridge in the room, but we were able to get that
sorted out as well. Parking wasn't free, but $5 was pretty reasonable.
Only problem is there's not much near the hotel... there's a McDonald's
in the parking lot, but anything else and you'd pretty much need a car.
Unless it's not raining. Oh yeah, the biggest problem we had was with
the Internet... they have free wifi, but it's pretty bad. It worked
great at some points, and barely acceptable at other points. At least it
was free, I guess.

This property is close enough to the airport to be convenient, but not
too close that the sound is annoying. It is a very nice, clean and
reasonably new HI hotel and I would definitely return.

Stayed here in a room with a king-bed. Overall, an excellent stay in a
large, clean room for a reasonable price.
The room was clean and much bigger than I expected, with a comfortable
and separate sitting area (couch, coffee table). King-sized bed was
comfortable, not too soft and not too firm. The choice of soft and firm
pillows was a nice touch. Bathroom was big and roomy with plenty of
counter space for toiletries. Shower/tub was nice, curved curtain bar
gave it more space, good water pressure and hot water supply. Coffee
machine was provided and the coffee was the usual blah-tasting hotel
blend... the only disappointment in the room.
Parking was in a gated lot for $5 per day, unlimited entrance/exit.
Wireless internet worked as expected -- not the fastest, but good enough
for general web browsing, airline check-in, etc..
Free airport shuttle was a nice touch. AND... if you arrive after the
shuttle stops service (around 12:30am) like I did because of an
east-coast red-eye flight, the hotel will reimburse your taxi ride up to
C$14. That is something I've never heard of in the United States and was
quite nice of them! I used the reimbursement policy when I arrived and
then picked up my rental car the next day of my stay.
Fogg 'N Sudz restaurant was nice and had a British-pub atmosphere. We
only ate here for breakfast and the meals (~$7-8) were well-portioned,
tasty and well-priced -- there wasn't any "hotel premium" in the prices.
To put it in perspective: The meals here were cheaper than the
International House of Pancakes (IHOP) down the road on St. Edward's
Way. As other reviewers mentioned, there is a McDonald's nearby for
grab-and-go meals as well.
Location-wise, this hotel is in Richmond, BC, south of Vancouver. It's
extremely convenient for driving around to the Asian (and non-Asian)
shopping malls located in the area -- you can ask the front desk for a
map. It's also reasonably close to the Canada Line, which is a brand-new
(as of this writing), automated, overhead subway system that can take
you to Downtown Vancouver. If I were here for a prolonged stay, I would
definitely drive to the Canada Line station, park, and take the subway
to downtown to avoid traffic to/from the bridges and parking fees.
Driving in to Vancouver takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the time
of day (rush hour can be really slow).
So to reiterate, I had a great stay at this hotel for a great price. I
would definitely recommend to my friends. |

We stayed 2 nights pre-cruise. Took scheduled shuttle from the airport
and check in was easy and fast. Room was nothing unique but clean and
comfortable. If you need absolutely quiet to sleep, this is not for you.
You can hear a bit of traffic noise. We like the fact it is a
non-smoking facility.
Staff are friendly and service is good. We had 2 problems during our
stay and were resolved quickly. My sister was allergic to 'down'
material, once we discovered that duvet was down we called the front
desk and they brought up blankets within minutes. The other issue was
with internet connection, I was able to see the connection but no
internet. Manager Stephen offered us 20 minutes free internet in the
lobby. That was fine as we just needed to check e-mail. They also
connected us with the help desk to figure out the problem but no luck. I
know the problem is not with my computer as I was able to use it Safeway
Supermarket's wi fi without any issues.
We rented a car to get to cruise terminal but We notice the hotel also
offers shuttle to cruise ship terminal at a reasonable fee. Over in
over, good place for a short stay and we appreciated friendly service.
I would rate a 4 Star if internet connection had worked. |

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, that's the entire story.
Room was very comfortable, shuttle to airport was on time and driver
very helpful. Restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. Hotel
staff were each very friendly and ready to provide information. Our
battery was dead in the morning and the hotel maintenance person helped
us get our car started using his own car and jumper cables! |

The hotel is clean and very convenient to the airport. There are several
good running trails nearby. Steveston Village is a short drive away for
a little shopping, sightseeing, and seafood dining. I will definitely go
to that hotel again if I go to Vancouver again. very polite staff and
room rate is reasonable. close to everything and the room that I stayed
was clean. |

Nice room overall. On the noisy side because of the ice machine. Walls
were thin. Could hear the neighbor on the phone. Towels and bed sheets
were soft. Good pillow top mattress. Fitness Center was a treadmill and
a bike as well as a Jacuzzi. No fridge or microwave in room so we
couldn't take back the leftovers.

The Holiday Inn-International, Airport, Vancouver, was completely
accommodating. I was able to park the rental car, walk securely about
the neighborhood, and eat the best meals on site. The fact that it is
located directly across the street from the business that I was in
Vancouver for made it a plus. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable and
spacious enough for my needs. |

The location of this hotel is pretty convenient being around 5-10
minutes from the airport and easily accessible through surface roads and
best all near the on and off ramp of the highway North to Vancouver and
South to Ferry/USA.
Lobby was very nice and pretty spotless. I didn't have much interaction
with staff although they were excellent, even the cleaning lady who said
hello.
There is secured gated parking within the building for guests free of
charge below ground or above ground. Wireless internet was also free.
The room was nicely appointed with all the features you expect in a
typical hotel. With the AC droning on in the night I didn't really
notice any airplane noise, however; when its off you can somewhat hear
the planes. |

I have stayed in many hotels in Vancouver but this was the first trip I
have taken since my family grew from 2 to 4. My wife and I were both a
little nervous about having the children in a hotel but left the
experience with nothing but fond memories.
The holiday inn vancouver airport was extremely well appointed and
featured many amenities I have not seen in hotels that cost 2 or 3 times
the price. Free wireless internet kept us in touch with our family back
home and the ipod clock kept my music charged all the time. The kids
loved their little "suite" with bunk beds, their own tv and video game
system. Included in the cost was secure gated parking which is a very
nice plus in Vancouver. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous.
Everyone seemed to genuinely want to be there. The only disappointment
was the lack of a swimming pool, but there were plenty of places to
satisfy this need in the immediate area.
Overall one of the most pleasant stays Ive had in a hotel in the greater
vancouver area - and definitely the best value in that regard.
Would highly recommend. |

Very close to airport. Very clean, recently renovated. Free Shuttle service
available. Very friendly / helpful staff. Surprised breakfast wasn't included
and that internet was available for a fee vice free (priority club member).
Parking was free and underground (and gated). Only complaint is that room was
not set up well for two females traveling together. Only plug/outlet close to a
mirror (important to females when doing hair) is in bathroom so couldn't get
ready outside of bathroom in room. |

Stayed there last night. I booked on Allure Hotels and got a great rate. The
airport shuttle was convenient - it leaves every half hour as was the McDonalds
in the parking lot. Other than that, there is nothing around this hotel. The
room offered a no-frills Holiday Inn stay. Nothing to complain about, but
nothing to cheer about either.
The web site touts "free wireless high speed internet". Unfortunately that means
one modem in the lobby and lousy connections from every guest room. The guy at
the front desk advised me to walk up and down my hallway with my laptop to see
if I could get a better connection. After trying to make it work for 2 hours,
and getting intermittent service, I gave up.
If you have work to do on your computer, or just want to surf while you unwind,
don't stay here. |

Holiday Inn Vancouver Airport is located within short driving distance of the
Golden Village shops in Richmond and the Vancouver airport. It is conveniently
situated next to Route 99 for quick access to Vancouver. Although it is away
from the hubbub of Richmond. For the casual traveler, visiting Vancouver, it
would be preferable to find a property closer. It is preferable to drive a car
to and from the hotel, although there is public transportation nearby. I am
impartial to bringing a car as parking is free for hotel guests.
In regards to the room and amenities, I think it is typical of a three-star
property. It was comfortably large with a mini-fridge and microwave available
for use. There was even plates and plastic utensils for use. A nice touch was
the IPod dock radio. In regards to dining options, there is a Fog N'Suds
downstairs and a McDonald's a short distance away.
There was some hiccups with the stay including a couple of the power plugs not
working including the one connected to the hair dryer. The fitness room was also
lacking as it consisted of two treadmills, a stationary bike and stair stepper.
Though there is a whirlpool. Also, the free high-speed Internet access was
spotty. I would say the stay was so-so, but would recommend for the convenience
to the airport and Richmond shopping district. There are however better options
if Vancouver is where you want to be. |
