Review of the Cactus Club

This was my first time dining at a Cactus Club and I must say it was absolutely good. The only issue I had was that my friends and I had to wait 15 or so minutes to be seated; people who came after us got seated first. But it was understandable because we were a party of 5 and it was a friday evening so it was busy as heck. Nevertheless, when we were seated, everything was smooth sailing from that point on.

We got 1 of the better tables in the house because there was a view of the working kitchen (which I personally enjoy viewing) and how the food was being prepared. We started with the Calamari appy. I've had better calamari but it wasn't too bad. When our entrees came, I was impressed with the way they plated the food. I had the Cavatappi Alfredo with prawns and it was simply delicious. One of my friends had the Blackened Creole Chicken- it was spicy, but the spice wasn't overpowering, it was just enough heat. I also got to taste the Yam Fries which I think is a step up from the regular fries. We also had the dessert trio to end our meal and it was scrumptious. The cheesecake was decadent, the baked apple pie was hearty and the lava cake was wonderful.

The service was great, I have no complains about it. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The overall ambiance was very casual, although the food elevates everything to the finer end of dining.

One of the things I like checking is a restaurant's washroom. If the washroom is clean, well stocked and doesn't smell, it's a plus in my book. This restaurant's washroom definitely gets an A.
