Review of the Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant |
My extended family chose Bo Kong mostly because it is vegetarian, but also
because the dishes mold itself after meat/poultry/seafood dishes. (presumably,
carnivores find tofu more appetizing when it looks like food we like. and/or
vegetarians too like to try and fool their stomach and mind.) People who would
like this food: people who want to eat meat but are forced onto an all tofu and
vegetable diet.
The wonton was undercooked. Kudos for making dishes 'look' like carnivore
dishes. but the only difference were the sauces. They could have saved a lot of
time by putting out a pile of (differently textured) tofu and having a variety
of dipping sauces. That being said, the vegetarians in the fam. seemed to enjoy.
As well, i was put off by the slightly false advertising. I asked the server if
the "fresh oyster" was really seafood, she explained it was an oyster mushroom.
ok, fair enough, but fresh??!!
