My overall impression was very good to excellent for a basic hotel. The shuttle
arrived shortly after our call. The room was good sized for 2 queens but
slightly limited for 2 adults & 3 young children - but then we didn't spent much
time in the room except to rest. Breakfast was more than adequate with eggs,
sausages, cereals and bread. The waffle machine was well appreciated. Coffee &
tea available 24/7. The swimming pool was small but all the kids there had a
blast. Free internet & newspaper. The skytrain, a large shopping center, many
restaurants, including a McDo, were within a few minutes walk. The only short
comings were limited parking and only 1 elevator which made me a few minutes
late for the morning shuttle.

Airport Convenience
I chose La Quinta Inn Vancouver Airport for a one-night layover. Everything was
fine about the place, but travelers should note that you need to call to
schedule the airport shuttle in advance, and that the shuttle only runs until
9pm. Since my flight came in around midnight, I had to get a cab. Not a huge
issue, but one main reason I picked La Quinta was for its free airport shuttle.

We were travelling as a sports group and had originally booked a single night.
Due to a change in our playing schedule, a number of us opted to come in for a
second night. As it was past our group booking date, we were instructed to
contact the hotel directly which we did. We had our reservations confirmed.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, we discovered that they had oversold the hotel
by 4 rooms! It took over an hour for the clerk at the front desk to sort things
out (actually, we did most of the sorting out ourselves and juggled our rooms to
accommodate as many of us as we could). There were still some of us without
rooms and we were sent to another hotel. Getting us another hotel was
appreciated but it was clear that the clerk was struggling with figuring out the
process to get us accommodated and even ended up getting the shuttle driver to
help him out. As we travel to Richmond regularly, we are now having to look for
another hotel for our future stays as we don't have confidence that we won't
have a repeat performance at La Quinta. The rooms were quite comfortable but if
you're on the Alderbridge Way side of the hotel, it's very noisy. The free
parking is nice but the parking lot is small and was often completely full. The
pool (if you could call it that) is extremely small - it's more of an oversized
bathtub than a pool! The fitness room is equally small. The breakfast was just
okay...rubbery eggs, some scary looking sausage-like things and waffles that
even the kids weren't impressed with (and they eat anything!) So, while the rate
offered was pretty good the issues that we had to deal with left a bad taste.

The hotel was fine and not much to complain about the rooms but don't expect a
shuttle service after 9:30pm. Don't expect the shuttle to just show up either,
like the other hotel, instead you have to call ahead of time. I waited at the
airport in the cold for one hour before I finally had to take a taxi. The front
desk staff is very argumentative and dismissive when I voiced my concern about
the non existing shuttle bus. Also, better read their website thoroughly for any
other hidden rules.

A good quality hotel with average amenities. Breakfast was simple but more than
sufficient. Hotel was clean and in great location - very well Priced.
ONLY negative is if you arrive later in the evening the Parking is very
difficult - I think patrons from restaurants around the area take spaces in this
lot when they should not. You may end up trying to find street parking.

We stay there for 5 nights last week during the Spring break. We will rate them
a 3 out of 5. If you are not planning to rent a vehicle, this is a nice little
hotel - shopping and restaurant are all within walking distance, provide free
breakfast, internet services and airport shuttle. Hotel also provide free
parking but very limited spot, so be back early. Since we stay there during the
Spring break, there were a lot of kids and it was quite noisy sometime; you can
hear people talking, kid running... Overall, it is not bad with the price we
paid.

Thank you . I was trepiditius when I saw the low price, and so read your reviews
with some skepticism but when we got there we were so pleased we immediately
booked for our return trip. We'd previously stayed at the Delta and the
Fairmont, but the prices in those places, this time, seemed outrageous. We saved
so much more money staying at this LaQunita. Being near the SkyTrain, we could
leave our car at home, take the ferry and bus and then the SkyTrain, with ease.
I was delighted with the free breakfast, which I usually don't even consider. It
had many choices and was well-maintained. The front desk was lovely and the
room, of course, minimal, but comfortable and impeccably clean. The beds were
more comfortable than those at the luxury resort we went to in Mexico. And, I
don't know if it was a fluke, but I found the rooms quieter than Fairmont or
Delta. Amazing! The free shuttle to the airport: easy to book ahead of time. We
couldn't be more pleased and ready to recommend it without hesitation. Thank you
thank you.

This hotel was very nice especially for the price. I chose this hotel as we had
2 cats with us. The hotel does not charge any extra pet fee which is awesome.
The room was very large we had an amazing King Size bed and slept very well.
There was a computer desk with office chair which was very nice. The room was
very clean. The only complaint that I would have is about the breakfast. The
food was not refilled. We stayed for 3 nights and on all 3 mornings there was
never any eggs. There also was a very small pool, hot tub and gym which were
very nice and not busy at all. I would stay here again without question.
