Although this was a family trip, it was to attend a dance competition being held
at this hotel. You can imagine how "wowed" the dancers were when we arrived in
the lobby with the curved escalators on both side of the reception desk. Added
to that is the interesting sound of the casino which is directly off the
lobby...and well guarded from curious little visitors. The security people were
very nice. The rooms are incredible. Ours had a separate bedroom with a king
size bed and a variety of pillows (firm, soft). The other room had a pull out
couch which was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. The room
included a fridge and microwave and, of course, wireless internet. The Skytrain stops right outside
the hotel and is a fun way to get around...the kids loved it! There is a spa on
site and some of us spoiled ourselves, it was surprisingly quite economical as
spas go. We felt very special during our stay, it was very high end for us
(although affordable) and we enjoyed every minute. We are hoping that this
convention will be held there again...we would love to go back. I would
certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants that little something extra,
that feeling that "I am so special"...and we all deserve that.

Great Location close to Airport, and transit. The Suites are awesome with a codo
feel, sunken living room ,spa bathroom, generous Master Suite with King Size Bed
with the best mattress you will ever sleep on. The casino slots are plenty. The
only downfall is the Buffet it is ok at best. We were there for a week and kept
our room even while out of town to Whistler and Victoria. The Hotel Concierge
was a young up and coming hotel grad. who seriously should rethink her career
choice, she couldn't even give directions to next door. I bet they didnt hire
her back, too bad they dont screen these young folks, and Im very patient, but
20 minutes to look up a Bank Of Nova Scotia, Location, and then didn't have a
clue as to where it was, and It ended up being a 5 minute cab ride ,oh well
still venting, sorry. Take the train to Whistler and book it prior to arrival
cheaper on the net. It is worth the Price unreal scenery, and stay at the
Fairmont a real treat. Eat at the Keg in Whistler very good
We visited in 2010 and would definitely recommend this Resort and Spa service
was a 10 +

This resort is definitely one of my favourites in BC. We have stayed here many
times and twice they have upgraded us. The first time to an executive suite
(which are amazing). They upgraded us the first time because our room was not
ready. The second time they upgraded us to a penthouse! The room was amazing!
They upgraded us because they have seen us many times there. Both types of rooms
are large and have tv's in the bathrooms, but the penthouses are themed. The one
we got had whole tree trunks in it. We also saw one in an old roman style. All
of the staff are kind and will get you anything. The room service is great. once
they brought us a table that was set just like we were in a restaurant. Alll of
the other rooms are very nice too, they are just smaller (still spacious) and do
not have tv's in the bathrooms. They may have the best pool in BC. There water
is perfect tempature and the waterslide is perfect if you want to have fun in
your hotel (it looks like a river in rocks). The hot tub is perfect and
comfortable.

I took my wife here for her birthday as a surprise since we were already heading
to the place for a show that Friday night I thought I'd back a bag and spend the
night. The hotel was very nice, though having to park way over in the parkade
and walk pretty much through the casino with our luggage.
The room was nice and spacious and clean, the beds quite comfortable. The
harbour view was mainly of the back of the roof of the building below but it was
already getting dark when we got there and I live in the city area so the view
wasn't high on my list of things for the room.
We did like that the pool was open until almost midnight which meant that we
were able to head there after the show we went to was out and enjoy a quick dip.
All in all it was a good stay in a comfortable room, friendly staff but a tad
over priced for what it was, but that is to be expected when staying in anything
that classifies itself as a resort and not just a hotel. We may stay in the
future if we are attending shows there if the mood strikes and there is perhaps
a decent special offer on to entice, but nothing extravagant beckons us back
that we couldn't have gotten elsewhere as well. |
