Reviews of the Four Points Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel

We stayed at this hotel before and after joining the local tours to
Victoria and Banff. We picked this hotel because it is one of the
pick-up points of the tours.
The hotel provides airport shuttle bus form Vancouver International
Airport and we waited only 20 minutes after calling the hotel. It is
only 10 minutes to the hotel. The hotel is situated close to the
Richmond Chinatown district and only 5 - 10 walk to the nearest Skytrain
station.
In front of the hotel, there are lot of Chinese and Asian restaurants to
choose from. At the back of the hotel, you have the Lansdowne mall of
which you can shop for all your necessities.
We arrived at around 10:00 am and asked for an early check-in. The front
desk staffs are friendly and helpful. Within 10 minutes, we were
allocated a double room at the 2nd floor. Although, it is close to the
airport and occasionally you would hear some airplane noise, it didn't
bother us as we used to noisy environment in Hong Kong.
We did check the gym and it is fully equipped even though we have not
tried to use. The room charge was not include the breakfast. They have a
restaurant at the lobby level providing light meal. We did not try as it
was a bit expensive to us. The coffee and tea are free though during the
morning at the lobby. You can walk a few minutes to the McDonald or try
some of the Chinese restaurant across the street.
Although the room rate is a bit more expensive than other hotel around
the airport, I would recommend this hotel due to its good and convenient
location. If you are from Asia or taking local tours to Victoria or
Banff, this hotel is good for you.

Ordered 4 scrambled eggs and was charged close to 20 dollars. I was told
parking is $10/night but with 'taxes' that's $27. Room service plate
wasn't picked up all day from outside my door either and in the morning
every door had a newspaper outside it except mine. I spend half my life
in hotels and this one is a new low that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

First the shuttle arrived in one hour compare to the other hotels
(between 15 and 30mns)
The staff are not welcoming!! Nobody is there to help you or even say
hello ( don't speak to Johnny)
He books us for early shuttle and a wake up 15mns before leaving,
without ask us if it was ok!
I mean i can prepare myself fast, but come on with a kid...
Also the first bedroom he gave us smell like a fresh cold ashtray so he
asked us to bring back down by ourselves our luggage and take an other
key... and then bedroom 517!!! OMG and in that one there was a stronger
cigarette smell and... the bed sheets and pillow had blood and dark
stains!!!
Then, I called them and they weren't even sorry at all. Instead they
explained to me that when there is a very hot weather it can smell like
that... really????? because i've never notice the sun can smoke
cigarette!!
So finally time goes by about two hours later... after a diner outside I
became really upset. Johnny and I checked the room 517 and compared to a
new one and he denied it smell cigarette in the first one... really
???...be honest... and instead to say we were sorry, he smiled like we
were nuts!! Come on, nobody treats a customer like that...
I mean, I never complained but that time i really wanted to notice it
because nobody told me a story like that before and i've never had such
crappie service in a hotel even i've already visited more than 25
country!!! I told you!!
It's just impossible for an hotel to be so blind on the problems and
just pretend the customers are nuts!!

This is the hotel we regularly chose when on a lay-over in Vancouver. It
offers a free shuttle service to the airport. Within a 5 to 8min walk
from the hotel, one can cross the mall located across the street to
shortcut to get to the train station. It is a 25min ride to go downtown
to the end of the line. Around this hotel there are many Asian
restaurants.
We find the rooms comfortable, spacious, clean and quite soundproof.
There is a couple of computers in the lobby than guests can use and the
internet is free. Breakfast is average as the choice of items is limited
considering that it isn't free.
