I use frequently Fairmont hotels including the Vancouver airport hotel where I
stayed last week. As a platinum member I was never allowed to use the gold floor
or lounge. To add insult to injury, prior to my last check-in I was sent a
e-mail offering to be upgraded to the Gold floor for $70/night.
I raised the matter with Fairmont Management and never got an answer. As a
Platinum member with other hotel chains, I enjoy outstanding service and their
management truly goes out of the their way to reward loyalty.
I have cancelled my future reservations.

Stayed at the hotel a couple of times in Sept 2011 for business. Service was
good and the rooms were very spacious and well appointed. The spa (massage) was
always full but the fitness centre and jaccuzzi were well equipped and modern.
Overall a very clean and efficient hotel located conveniently within the airport
terminal building itself, making it arguably the best transit hotel to stay in
when visiting Canada.
Something interesting to note: during one of my stays in a room on a high floor,
i actually had a really powerful telescopic in the room which i could use to spy
on my surroundings...is this normal practice? haha

Wow, I haven't stayed at an airport hotel like this before! Clean, modern,
spacious, with pool and spa facilities (didn't use these). Was here only for the
day but loved the room and bathroom. Room service was fast and food delicious.
Rooms were quiet. Loved the telescope in the room to watch the planes So nice to
leave the room and walk though the hotel and into the airport!

I had to stay at this hotel last minute as I missed my connecting flight
to Asia due to airline issues. The hotel was a bit pricey as I booked it
the day of arrival - and I am sure there are better rates if you plan
ahead. I now think that every time I fly to Asia from Vancouver I will
arrive the night before just so I can stay in this hotel. The room was
amazing and it was so nice to already be in the airport and not have to
worry about missing my flight. Plus I found the view of the runway with
the mountains behind wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel.
