I was very pleased to come to this hotel after a night at the River Rock. There
is a reason this is one of my favorite hotels.
The valet driver was very pleasant and the valet charge is cheaper than
self-parking in downtown Vancouver. I have never valet parked before but it
beats the very long walk for the parkade.
Check in was instantaneous and even though I was more than an hour early they
were happy to give me my room. The woman at check in was extremely friendly and
professional. The fitness centre is exceptional - they best hotel gym I've seen
- and the Absolute Spa is fantastic. As always, the bed was very comfortable.
The rooms are large and have everything you need.
There are a few places for improvement:
- the room needs a lot of maintenance (repainting, etc.)
- like many others, I hate the louvered doors in the bathroom
- room service was quick but the seafood chowder was only so-so
- having a tv listings channel would be helpful
- there was more noise than the previous times I have stayed here, but still
much quieter than most other hotels
I look forward to coming back to this hotel, and I will definitely be back to
the spa.

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. The room was very clean and fresh.
The staff were very helpful. The man at the valet parking was especially good.
We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the hotel is. I agree with a previous
comment about the louvered doors in the bathrooms. We also didn't like this
feature. A bathroom door should be solid. Also we made coffee in the room and
there was no coffee whitener. There was a note saying we could call room service
and someone would bring us cream however it seemed a bit much to ask someone to
come all the way to the room with a bit of cream. Overall a very good hotel.

I love this hotel. I stay here as often as my budget and time permits. The view
of the runway and airplanes at the gate fascinates me. The view of the mountains
is lovely as well. If you love the activity and excitement of being around
airports, this is a great hotel.
It is not an inexpensive place to stay and for the part, the price is worth it.
I would like to see a couple of things addressed, though.
For one - wash the windows. The view is incredible and it is aggravating to look
out of spotty windows. If you're paying a few hundred a night then please
provide guests with a clear view.
Another thing - it may have been innovative, trendy, or "in" or whatever at the
time, but the louvered washroom doors are awful. I do NOT want my kids, my
lover, my mother, whomever I am traveling with (you get the picture) to listen
to me pee (or worse). Put a SOLID door on the loo, please. I'm not wild about
louvered door ANY PLACE In a washroom, but at the bare minimum replace the one
on the toilet.
One last thin - please start the breakfast - or at least COFFEE/TEA - at 6:00 am
in the Gold Floor lounge. It seems heartless to keep people from coffee until
6:30. When you travel on business and you want to grab a coffee while getting
ready, you shouldn't have to go all the way down to the restaurant to get it or
pay the exorbitant room service charges for a mere coffee. How hard is it to set
up the coffee early while you're getting the rest of the breakfast ready?
This hotel is always worth a visit and I will continue to stay even with the
louvered doors in the bathroom!
