Guest Reviews of the Days Inn Vancouver Airport
5 December 2011
Just returned from spending one night at the Days Inn. Parked the car for free
and proceeded to front desk-requested room facing the River Rock Casino (short
walk away)
as I wanted a view of the planes coming in to land at YVR-dont worry about noise
issues as you hear nothing through the double glazed windows.
Was given room 406 and asked front desk clerk if 406 was facing casino-he
answered in the negative and gave me card for room 407,which he said was. On
getting to the 4th floor was apparent that 407 faced away from the casino-beat a
hasty retreat down to reception and was given room 406 again-no big deal but
Management should really ensure front desk personnel know that even numbered
rooms face casino etc.Nice touch down in the lobby was the Vancouver Sun offered
for free along with the mandatory restaurant brochures etc.
The room was very neat and clean=decent size with two Queens and best of all a
flat screen TV with as many cable channels as you would ever need-had to crank
up the heat as room was pretty chilly. Was cool relaxing on the bed and watching
the planes descending into YVR and the Canada Line coaches snaking their way
along their elevated tracks to YVR and downtown Vancouver.
The room comes complete with fridge, coffee maker (pretty frugal with the sugar
etc) had to drink a few cups of very bitter joe and safe. As I was pretty
exhausted I didn't even venture out at night-there are a few decent restaurants
in close proximity as well as Starbucks and for the less discerning Burger King
and Subway. Costco is also a block away.
In the morning needed to use the loo only to find out it wasn't flushing
properly-called the front desk and about 10 minutes later a maintenance lady
arrived to fix the problem-worked ok for one flush and then went on the fritz
again. This was really the only problem that marred an otherwise enjoyable one
night stay-if you take the Days Inn at face value ie. a good budget hotel then I
would recommend it without hesitation-and forgot to mention that a free
breakfast is on offer from 5.30 am to 9.30 am-just didn't get up early enough to
enjoy it !!

Clean, quiet, and friendly staff and very reasonable rates are the main
attractions to this hotel. The parking is also free unlike some other hotels in
Richmond. The price included breakfast which was ample and diverse and the
service from Baljit in the breakfast room was exceptional. The front desk staff
were very accommodating to our needs and very friendly. I would highly recommend
this hotel. If you like casinos, the River Rock is a five minute walk away or
you can take a shuttle from the hotel. Shopping is not within walking distance
but it is a short drive to the Richmond Centre which is a huge mall.

Clean and quiet is all that anyone wants after being on the road for two weeks
and Days Inn did not disappoint. Although the views are not spectacular, the
location was convenient. The included breakfast was great and the service from
Baljit in the dining room was exemplary. Great value.

The hotel is located very close and conveniently to Vancouver International
Airport. There is plenty of free parking and the staff are friendly and
welcoming.
Our room was very clean, safe and quieter than expected based on the close
proximity of the airport. We had free reliable and fast in room wi-fi, there was
also a fridge which was handy.
The included breakfast was enough to give us a good start to the day, cereals,
juice, toast, cream cheese, fruit and tinned fruit salad.
The car rental at the airport was a 10/15 minute straight forward drive and
there is a petrol station just around the corner from the hotel should you need
to refuel the car before returning it.

This was a really convenient hotel to stay at in Vancouver with easy access to
the airport. The breakfasts were great and the staff were all very helpful. I
arrived early in the day (about 9am) after a long flight and was able to get
into my room by about 9.30am. The room was well appointed and clean, with the
beds very comfortable. It's very close to the skytrain so access to the CBD is
convenient and staff were extremely helpful in giving advice about places to see
and tours. I can't understand though why most Canadian hotels have that awful
coffemate so I overcame that by getting some milk from the breakfast room.
Dinner meals are a bit hard to access too. Overall I would definitely recommend
this hotel provided you can make arrangements for the evening meal.
