Lumiere
|
Through the eclectic blend of European sophistication, modern French cuisine
and North American resourcefulness, the cuisine of Lumière speaks a language all
its own. Lumière has captured the attention and taste buds of food lovers all
over the world.
Lumière has created a culinary tradition that is now entering its second decade.
With the recent addition of Chef Dale MacKay, of the famed Gordon Ramsay
Restaurants in London, Tokyo, and New York, Lumière continues to set the
standard for fine dining in Canada.
In November 2000, Lumière became the first freestanding restaurant in Canada to
receive the Relais Gourmand designation, an honor reserved for those who
specifically cater to the art of living, quality, refinement and a sense of the
exceptional.
Since it’s opening, Lumière, along with the recently renovated Lumière Tasting
Bar, which opened in 2003, was voted Best Restaurant and Best French restaurant
by Vancouver Magazine for an unprecedented seven years and has received
accolades from many notable food critics ranking Lumière among the finest
pioneering restaurants in North America. Most recently, the restaurant will be
retaining the coveted AAA Five Diamond Award for 2007 and the Lumière Tasting
Bar received Vancouver Magazine’s prestigious award for Best Small Plates.
The newly renovated Lumière Tasting Bar is tucked between vibrant Feenie’s and
the formal Lumière dining room located in the heart of Kitsilano, Vancouver.
This slender 30-seat room is a jewel box – where you can nestle in and meet the
very talented mixologists, taste one of their incredible cocktails and choose
from one of their many delicious small plate creations.
Let yourself be rewarded with sophisticated excellence while sampling Chef Dale
MacKay’s favourites; such as the Butternut Squash Risotto with Regianno Parmesan
and the Macaroni & Cheese with four cheeses and double smoked Irish bacon. Both
perfect, warm dishes, to eat on a rainy day. Come visit the cozy Lumière Tasting
Bar and experience the AAA Five Diamond excellence in a more casual atmosphere. |
