| This is in the Main Street/ Broadway area which is a 15 minute drive or 45 minute walk from the heart of downtown Vancouver . Main and Broadway Streets are miles of unique stores and restaurants with very few franchise stores and made for lots of interesting wandering. |
| Bus #19 takes you downtown anytime (usual stops along the way) and goes
straight to Stanley Park where you can take the free shuttle all around the park
or walk the waterfront back thru downtown.
If you have a car Shopping South Granville, south of West Broadway has many attractive high end stores, art galleries, stores, boutiques and restaurants. Or Kitsilano and Kits beach neighborhood, just south and west of downtown, is very trendy and pretty place with some spectacular homes. It has been rated one of the top ten beaches in the world no doubt because of all the beach activities and attractions there. The refurbished Yaletown area is great to walk around with many interesting high end stores, boutiques and a huge variety of excellent Yaletown Restaurant and cafes ... Although you would need a car the hotel is close to the PNE Grounds which is home to the Pacific Coliseum, The Fair at the PNE, Playland, Hastings Race Track, and Hastings Casino Right next door to the hotel is a shopping mall with a liquor store, a drugstore, a supermarket and many other amenities (including a public library with transit maps) Next door is the Salt and Pepper Grill, a great place for a lazy brunch or a steak sandwich. Good service and reasonable prices. |
