Spanish Banks
West of Tolmie Street on Northwest Marine Drive
Named by the earliest European Spanish explorers in the 1770s.
The least crowded of Vancouver's beaches, this stretch of sand is a wonderful
retreat for those who wish to escape from the pace of city life. Skimmers alert:
this is the perfect place for skim boarding once you learn the optimal tidal
conditions.
Spanish Banks, though only "one" bank, is home to three of Vancouver's superior
beaches, far from the madding crowd. Here you can feel truly "away" as you scan
the open waterfront to the west or turn your glance back to one of the most
beautiful city skylines anywhere.
