Guest review of the Lonsdale Quay Hotel North
Vancouver

Property is located above a shopping area, it is right on the water. You really
need a car or be prepared to travel to downtown Vancouver by train and ferry.
Property is in North Vancouver. Dont have breakfast in the hotel for the first
time we had to order 2 breakfast to equate to the same breakfast purchased at
the Delta hotel the previous day ( and pay double for the 2 breakfasts) . Rooms
are average.

My partner and I stayed at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel for one night when we first
arrived in Vancouver. It was very easy to get to from Downtown (just a quick
trip on the seabus). Check in was very easy and the front desk staff were
friendly. We were checked into room 404 from memory - The room looked great at
first glance, but when we went to check out our 'city' view there was nothing to
be seen but the roof top of the building next door.. a little disappointing
considering the 'city view' was mentioned when we booked our room - I would have
asked to move had we not been so tired from our 13hour flight. Check out was
easy and over all our stay was good stay.

Went to Vancouver for a quick autumn weekend getaway. I was disappointed to find
that September is still high season in terms of prices, so could only afford a
hotel that wasn't quite downtown. I was really happy to find a hotel that only a
12 minute seabus ride from downtown. Located above the Lonsdale quay market, the
rooms are clean, but basic. Nothing too fancy, but the lobby was nice. The room
I chose was advertised as city-view, so I thought that meant that it had a view
of downtown Vancouver, but no, I was facing the building next door. It was also
ground level, so people could literally look right into our room from the
sidewalk. So be careful when booking and call the hotel. We were given a
handicap-accessible room, so some things were a little strange, like the low
counters, wide doors and closets. The breakfast place has a nice view of the
city and was better than I expected (but at that price in Vancouver, it should
be pretty good). Parking was underground and $10 per day, which beats most
Vancouver hotels, so I can't complain. Bean around the world coffee shop and all
kinds of ethnic food available in the market area, as well as Eastside Marios,
which was about the only place nearby that was open late. The area was
relatively quiet, so I slept pretty good.

I was looking forward to my stay here, after reading a number of good reviews.
However, I was disappointed.
The location was very handy for us and we would have enjoyed the place - but the
"marketing strategy" of this hotel will discourage me from ever staying there
again.

ok, so after the Delta Ocean point hotel in Victoria (5*, excellent) we went to
Vancouver and stayed here. It is on top of a mall, which would be ok, but it was
very hard to find after dark! The reception is ok, modern zen style, but once we
walked through the corridor doors, I had a bad feeling, the doors are all banged
up, the room was quite dirty, the bathroom floor yuck, you know when you want to
wear your sandals everywhere, so this is it. NO decoration, our room had mustard
color walls, mustard color carpet. You open the curtains, and right outside the
window are big red railings and a walkway, so do not open the curtains! No,
definitely not going there again... |
