Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites North Vancouver
January 24, 2012
I stayed at the North Vancouver Holiday Inn again over Christmas (2011)
- as I had the year previous. As usual, a very nice hotel. The staff are
very friendly and accommodating and the location (for me) was very
convenient.
The hotel lobby is large and well-lit, elevators are convenient. The
rooms are spacious and comfortable. I was a couple of floors up and over
the main entrance, but even though I keep my window open, there was no
noise to disturb. It seems odd, but the hotel is quite busy over the
holiday period (as it was previously), but not overwhelming. As a
result, though, the coffee shop gets quite busy - but again, not really
a big issue. The coffee shop seems to run best on a little bit of chaos,
but the staff are (again) very friendly and helpful.
If your plans bring you to the North Shore, this is definitely the place
to stay.
One minor disappointment was the Christmas Day buffet - we'd made a
reservation and as the hotel was quite busy, we ended up at a table in a
banquet room near to the restaurant. It was a little inconvenient to
make the trip back and forth, but that was fairly minor. The food at the
buffet was varied, but not very exciting. I guess it's hard to compete
with a home-cooked Christmas dinner, though!

the hotel was easy to get to and the staff was very friendly and
helpful. the room was clean and when asked for more coffee in the
morning it was not problem to get it from the maid. this hotel has easy
access to downtown Vancouver and the surrounding areas. if you are
looking at going up to Whistler then this hotel also is right on hwy 1.
I would stay here again

If you have business on the North Shore, then this is the right place to
stay! Access to the hotel is convenient and major highways are close by.
The staff are friendly, the rooms nicely laid out and decorated, and the
windows open for the those who love fresh air. Stayed at this hotel many
times and will be back

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Holiday Inn.
The hotel was lovely, nice large open foyer that was decorated for
Christmas. Our room was spacious with a small kitchen-ette. There is a
family restaurant, a pub and a cold beer and wine store (we didn't
venture into any of these as we had our own agenda for meals). The room
was clean and we were comfortable there.
Now this hotel was pricey for the weekend and I was pleased that I found
a rate of $159 per night. OK I'll pay it. But if you are going to charge
me that kind of money....then the bathroom towels shouldn't be
thread-bare with holes and the edges fraying. I was really surprised by
this.
The walls were also a little thinner that I expected. We opted for this
hotel as we didn't want to share our space with traveling soccer teams
that partied all night. But our next door neighbour had the alarm set
for 5am and we heard it.
A well kept hotel....but still just a hotel.

We spent last night here as the Tsawwassen ferry was cancelled and the
Horseshoe Bay ferry did not have a 9 pm sailing. The rate was $139 for a
two queen non-smoking room. It was great, especially after our
disappointment with our hotel the whole week prior. I was so happy to be
at a clean Holiday Inn! It was extremely quiet there (they must have
spaced the guests far enough apart) and my family enjoyed the pool. All
in all, a great place to stay near Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal and
Vancouver. |
