Unfortunately we waited to long to book a hotel for summer in Vancouver and had
to settle for this location. Not very nice. Though we did not pay top dollar
either. There were no screens on the windows. We had to pay in full up front. We
had a bit of an ant issue in one of our rooms. Could not get light bulbs for our
rooms, though we asked more than once. The breakfast area is WAY to small for
the number of rooms the hotel has. Its was difficult to help our children get
food and get some ourselves and have any room to sit or stand to eat. The staff
got upset with us for trying to get a 10 oz. glass of milk so we could do a
protein shake instead of eating the food they offered. They said we were taking
too much milk..?? The room was not vacuumed nor were the bath rooms wiped down
or toliets cleaned in the 6 days we were there.

Stayed here many times over the past 10+ years, always a good stay. Previous
reviews say it all.
The breakfast room is crowded!! Walk to the other side of the check in desk for
more seating or take your meal back to your room.
This hotel is getting old and needs renos, keep that in mind - but it is very
clean and has very comfortable beds, great staff
A few tips:
take the bus a block away as it only takes 15 minutes to downtown, 30 minutes
via Lonsdale Quay, easy car access to Squamish/Whistler
explore the North Shore, I lived here in the past for 25 years and there is a
lot to do without going over the bridge

We had a family trip and booked this hotel. The experiences were terrible!
First, they forgot to clean the room. When we reminded them, they answered that
the house keeper has gone and they can do nothing. We have to go to the lobby
and pick up the clean items by ourselves. Second, the room is very close to road
and very noisy. Third, the breakfast room is very small. Last, of course, the
front desk is pretty rude even if you have reasonable request.

Choose this hotel because of it’s proximity to downtown and easy access to
everywhere for Capilano Bridge and Grouse Mountain. Room is nice, seems under
new management and updates everywhere. But what really blew me away was the
Pancake machine. I mean they have all the regular breakfast items like ham, eggs
and sausage. But a pancake machine that automatically makes pancake right in
front of your eyes in just 30 seconds. Now that’s taking something. My son
doesn’t eat anything and he ate two pieces of this pancake. Already booked my
next stay with them in Aug. Definitely recommend.

After reading the reviews on this site, I was very surprised that this hotel
wasn't at all worth the 84% recommendation on tripadvisor. The check-in lobby
was smelling and under renovation which was the first red flag. The air
conditioner in our room was too noisy to get a good night's sleep, I can't wait
to get home to a quiet night of restful sleep. It kept making a loud sound
through the night.
I could hear my neighbours walking in the room above me and this kept disturbing
us. Our room was on the lower level and opposite the lobby which meant that we
could hear the cars on the road and the ones coming into the hotel area.
Neighbors as they checked out and talked to each other were easily heard while
we tried to catch up on sleep.
Bathroom was dirty and the flooring was in need of renovation. House-keeping
took all of 10 mins and did a poor job. All in all, a terrible experience and I
will be weary of reviews and of this place from here onwards.
Morning breakfast seemed to have dry bread and decent food, nothing I would eat
as a vegetarian as I had my own cereal and didnt find any of the food good. We
had a sign on the study desk in the room that talked about how the hotel guests
had been receiving prank calls from someone saying there was a fire and making
people break their glass windows and turn on sprinklers. Scary n totally put me
off.
So much for being in North Vancouver for the first time!!
