i have visited this place a number of times over the last few years, and have
always found the managers and staff helpful, accommodating and ready to go the
extra step to help you. My internet connection was slow in a particular room and
the managers went the extra mile to set up a new arrangement such that the wi-fi
reception in the room was satisfactory. For access to the internet they even
laid cable in the lounge area whilst the wi-fi was being fixed. This was in
addition to the normal wi-fi available in the public area. The breakfast was
improved from a simple continental, eg cornflakes and toast, to one which
included eggs along with seasonal fruit. The rooms are well kept given the age
of the place, maintenance is routinely done and in case of a problem there is a
handy man who attends. Being located in north Vancouver, with free parking, and
closeness to the city, mountains and other attractions the hotel is a
convenient, inexpensive and hospitable place to stay during one's stay in
Vancouver.

My husband and I came from Indiana to Vancouver wondering how we were going to
park for our cruise to Hawaii. When checking in the manager, Mayne Toprani,
said, " I can take care of that." He made arrangements for a handicap taxi,
which I needed and offered us parking at the motel for a very reasonable price.
Hansel and Helen, serving at the desk were also very helpful. Our handicap room
was satisfactory. They helped us make Vancouver tour arrangements too.
We made blind reservations of the motel on line and they helped us with all the
concerns we had about making our cruise. We returned from it to find our van
safe and sound. We certainly appreciated their help to strangers in town....us.

It was probably the best choice there in the North Vancouver area. Nice welcome,
fair prices, good, simple breakfast, the lobby is however to small for all those
people at the breakfast tables. Pool is a bit messy, not clean and please keep
out these guy's and girls with pants and T shirts on out of the pool !!! you
should wear a swimsuit of swim pants. it not decent to jump in with all of your
clothes on ! the rooms are a bit noisy too...
a fair and good stay

Stayed here 7 nights, Sept 2011. First room they gave us was terrible, very
small, cramped, lacking basics like 2 nightstands and lights on both sides of
the bed. Thought we would be miserable living in this space for a week, so we
looked for another place to stay, told front desk we would be leaving in the
morning. He said he had a better room we could have for same price. This one was
a living room - bedroom suite. Much nicer, had small refrigerator, toaster,
sink, microwave, and dining table. Not plush, but very workable. The location
was great for the things we planned to do - bike Stanley Park, visit Capilano
and Lynn Canyons, hike Stawamus Chief, Lighthouse Park, whale watching trip,
etc. If you don't need to be in downtown Vancouver, this is a good option but
don't expect luxury. Pool was OK but we were too tired to use it much.

Great location by the Lions Gate Bridge. Introverted design with outdoor
swimming pool in centre. |
