Hotel Review of the Best Western Capilano Inn & Suites
4 October 2011
I stayed at this hotel for one night, before a fitness conference. It was ok,
the room was clean, it is like a motel, each room has an exterior door. It was
affordable. Our stay would have been better, if someone told the group of soccer
players (who were also staying there) (in about 8 rooms) that there were quiet
times, like after 11 pm when they shoulnd't be partying, drinking and smoking a
little funny stuff outside in the parking lot. We had an early morning ahead and
wanted to sleep. I finally had to phone the front desk and ask them to tell the
team "party time"is over. It is too bad that i had to ask, you would think that
the staff would have done that!

The property is actually a 2 storey motel where parking is provided close to
your unit. This is an older facility that is clean and well maintained. Average
or basic accommodation. The standard room does not have a fridge. Located near
two major roads with easy acces to both downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, or the
north shore mountains.

I'm not a big fan of crowded cities like Vancouver BC which is why we picked a
hotel on the other side of the bridge, to have bigger rooms, a pool and free
parking (traffic in Vancouver is awful and it's difficult/expensive to park so
even if crossing the bridge may be long, North Vancouver is a very good option)
. The rooms are very nice, big and clean, and the pool is in the back and sunny
all afternoon. We were very happy to relax there after the morning visits. The
only thing we regretted was that there is no complementary breakfast and no
fridge in the rooms. But if you don't want to pay a fortune and don't need a big
breakfast, there's a gas station with a mini-mart next door. For the rest, there
are loads of restaurants in the neighborhood.

we arrived to Vancouver late at night from the ferry, and it was great not to go
directly downtown. Instead we stayed at the Best Western just by the bridge and
it was more relaxing when we entered the city in the morning.
Also, if you want you can leave the car and take the bus!

We spent 3 nights here after a very bad experience at one of the so called
better hotels in Vancouver. This was just wonderful. The room was spotless, the
staff so helpful, they really couldnt have done more to make us feel welcome.
They had a small outdoor pool and seating area which was great as the weather
was really lovely. Its close enough to Downtown to access without too much
difficulty and great for Stanley park. with free parking, you got the best of
all Vancouver has to offer without having to fight through a mountain of traffic
or just walk to enjoy it. I would certainly stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel and paid upfront through Expedia. They took our card
details on arrival and when we checked out told us 'they don't recognise expedia'
and charged us again. The rooms are also VERY Average - Don't stay here!! I'm
really disappointed with their attitude to billing me twice! |
