The small, lavish Wedgewood has just earned membership to the exclusive
Relais & Châteaux Group, and is run by an owner who cares fervently about her
guests.
If you're searching for a romantic, sophisticated hotel with superb service,
spacious rooms, fine detailing, a good restaurant, a full-service spa, and a
central downtown location, you can't do any better than the Wedgewood.
Furnishings and antiques are of the highest quality, and the marble-clad
bathrooms with deep soaker tubs and separate walk-in Roman showers are simply
the best.
In 2006, Travel + Leisure readers ranked the Wedgewood one of the 500 best
hotels in the world.

My business associate and I had booked two of the better rooms at the weekend
with breakfast rate. On checking out and reviewing our bills, we were both
charged a much higher rate and also for breakfast. The management was most
uncooperative in resolving the issues even though we both had in hand printed
confirmations stating the rates that we were guaranteed. i had to dispute my
charges through American Express Platinum Program to get a settlement. the gym
area is tiny and the business area had only one computer that was operating but
you could not print from it. The rooms were nice but small with a soaking tub in
the bedroom. After this experience, I cancelled future reservations that we had
for August, October, and December and rebooked at the Four Seasons.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. Loved the Wedgewood. We arrived at 9:15am
from a cruise and our son was not feeling well. We knew check-in was at 3pm so
were expecting them to hold our luggage. We were greeted with big smiles and
told our rooms would be ready in 10 minutes!! Because it was our anniversary
they upgraded my husband and myself but made sure our other family members were
just across the hall. The rooms are beautiful, the beds divine, our balcony had
a lovely view of the art museum and Fairmont hotel, the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus is
just a block away, and staff is so helpful and always smiling. The flowers in
the reception area and halls are all fresh and lovely. That evening we were
tired and in jeans and only wanted a bite to eat. We knew Bacchus, their
restaurant, was top of the line so we asked the desk where we might walk to for
a light dinner. They encouraged us to go into the Wedgewood Lounge. It was
perfect. A piano player, wonderful drinks and an excellent light menu. There was
a mixed group but no one seemed to mind that we were in jeans. It is a popular
after the theater spot to eat. Check out was a breeze and they were very upset
when we came down with our luggage - that is their job to see to your every
need. Don't miss this place. We booked through the Vancouver Tourism website and
with a VISA special the rooms were very reasonable, much less than Fairmont.

Our family stayed at the Wedgewood during our 5 day visit to Vancouver. We loved
the hotel. The service was impeccable; the staff was warmly and genuinely
helpful in every way. The rooms were first rate and the location could not be
better. We would not hesitate to recommend the Wedgewood to any friend planning
to visit Vancouver

This hotel is in a very noisy area - a hospital is close by and I believe a fire
station. We heard sirens until midnight, then fell asleep. At 7 am, there was
street construction noise. Besides that, the rooms were nice. I'd recommend the
better suites to the minimal one bc it only has a drape to separate the rooms
and the bathroom is in the sitting room (doesn't work well with kids). Also, the
bedroom was small as was the sitting room. The staff is very friendly.

We found this lovely hotel on Trip Advisor and wanted very much to stay there. I
contacted the hotel directly and was given a very fair rate for our two nights'
stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in downtown Vancouver, close to many good
restaurants and lots of good shopping. The room itself was beautiful and best of
all - and very important to me - really, truly clean. And I do mean clean! The
bathroom smelled faintly of bleach, which I appreciated, and it flat-out
sparkled. The bed was divine - so comfortable - and we loved our welcome box of
chocolates and fresh cookies at our bedside each night with our turndown
service. The room was quiet and peaceful and it was nice to be greeted by name
on the two occasions we called down at the front desk (once for a wakeup call,
which came in promptly when we'd requested). There was nothing not to like about
this hotel and we'll use this as our "gold standard" for other hotels....it'd be
hard to pass this one up.

For our last night in Vancouver, we stayed in this hotel and what a good choice
it proved to be. As soon as our taxi drew up our doors were opened and luggage
taken into the lobby. The staff were very welcoming.
Our room was spacious, the bathroom looked new and thick robes to use once you
had showered. A box of chocolates greeted us on arrival and staff were prompt in
bringing some decaffeinated coffee to our room.
At bedtime there were cookies. The sheets were a good quality cotton and made
for a good nights sleep. The business centre was well equipped and there was
also a steam room.
We had breakfast and enjoyed the freshly baked croissants.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at the Wedgewood, and was almost sad to leave
the hotel.
The bed was beautiful, big, and so comfortable. The room and the bathroom were
roomy. The toiletries are wonderfully scented. I'd read all about the welcome
box of truffles and the nightly cookies and water along with turndown service,
but it still felt like a special treat.
The Hotel Location was ideal, truly in the heart of a great and very walk-able
downtown. We had a great view from a 10th floor room.
I must say that we don't generally stay at places that are this highly rated, so
my expectations maybe aren't as high as people who frequently stay at places
like this. We got such a GREAT rate as part of their winter discounts, that we
almost felt guilty about it :) The staff was personable and very helpful the
couple of times we needed directions, or help making reservations (but again we
weren't very demanding people).
One major thing I noted is that we very rarely heard other guests while in our
room. We could hear a door close every now and then, but other than that it felt
like we had the entire floor to ourselves. It was a nice surprise because often
we feel like a lot of hotels have paper-thin walls.
Oh if you stay here, do yourself a favor and book a dinner at the Bacchus
restaurant (part of the hotel). It's an expensive restaurant but it is worth
every penny. Superb service and even better food.
Overall, a great experience and we hope they will run more off-season deals so
that we have the opportunity to stay there again.

The Wedgewood Hotel has an excellent Hotel Location.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Very nice interior.
But they do not offer 5* star service . The front desk personal
performs several functions; bell captain, valet, room service,
maintenance issues and hotel does not have a concierge
(!?) . One could say, they try to cut "the corners".
Breakfast is easily $30 per person and you better walk
100 yards south of the hotel and find coffee house
for half a price.
I am not trying to put the hotel down, but for travellers
who visit 5* star hotels, shortcoming are quite apparent.
