We recently stayed one night at the Sunset Inn and Suites and were
really impressed by the size and quality of the room — a great queen
bed, with high thread count sheets and comfy duvet, a full kitchen,
living room with two hide-a-beds and a balcony, and a well-appointed
bathroom. This place was literally larger and nicer than the apartment
we call home.
The location, just off Davie street, is also great, because it's in a
cute little neighborhood near the beach, yet still close to everything
downtown has to offer — shopping on Robson, eating out on Davie or
Denman or going for drinks in Yaletown.
The service was also impeccable. We checked in early and instead of
giving us grief, they upgraded us to one of their best rooms for free. I
doubt we'd stay anywhere else in Vancouver now that we've discovered the
Sunset Inn and Suites.

This is the one of the best places to stay in Vancouver, BC. You won't
know this w/o staying there. Their front desk staff Elvis, Dave, Daniel
are very friendly folks. Any thing you need back home is well taken care
here. Feel like home, home-away! We had to cut down our stay from 8
nights to 3 nights, it was taken care by them w/o any hassles. Its is in
downtown, surrounding is safe. Walkable from main attractions. We would
go again!

Hard to find much to complain about! We stayed 2 nights then added 1
more after checkout by phone from downtown and the room was already
reserved. They had guessed correctly! Good location, friendly,
knowledgeable staff, clean suites, well equipped and very large. My only
possible complaint was the very cold bathroom floor (January) which has
a carport directly below. Not a big deal and not a problem most of the
year. Noise from the busy alley/street on the north side could be an
issue for some. Wifi was strong and free. There are lots of convenient
stores and services available right on Davie St. barely a short block
away including a nice retail wine shop. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Sunset for a month in March-April of this year, and at
that time I wrote a TA review singing its praises. This time, we're
enjoying our favorite hotel for ten days. Sustaining quality of
facilities and service over time is a difficult balance, but I'm happy
to report that the Sunset continues to deliver the same quality
experience for its guests. We were greeted like returning family, and
when the suite they assigned us didn't quite meet our needs, they
immediately found one that did, and moved us. The continental breakfast
has been expanded a bit, and since this is the Christmas season,
complimentary eggnog, apple cider, and cinnamon sticks are laid out
every evening in the lobby--just the kind of special touch we've come to
expect from this gracious little oasis in Vancouver's West End. Do
yourself a favour next time you're visiting Vancouver: check out the
Sunset!

We stayed for three nights in December and cant fault the place. Great
location for restaurants, central to everything and easy to get
transport, or close enough to downtown to just walk.
Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, really didnt both us using
room cups and plates to go and get it. All staff very helpful.
On site gym was good too.

I have stayed at the Sunset Inn and Suites 5 times - 3 for business and
2 for vacation. I recommend this hotel - it is unique and out of the way
of the downtown hustle and bustle (but not too out of the way - you can
still take a nice 10 minute walk to downtown). You can walk to grocery
stores, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Every time I stay there I
tihnk the hotel gets better! The staff is helpful, friendly and the
rooms are clean, well set up and who could ask for anything more!

I thought this place would be good based on location and the photos on
the website, but I read some not so nice reviews about it. I'm really
glad I went with my gut and booked it. We, being a family with two
teenagers stayed three nights from Sat-Tues. Got the CAA reduced rate,
the room cost us 129/night
The Good:
Everything...and I mean this.
Check in was great, we arrived early and they were able to accommodate
us with early check in. Front desk staff. amazing and super friendly
(Thank you)
FREE secured parking...need I say more? We probably saved 80.00 on
parking.
We got a standard one bedroom, which was modern, spotless and well
equipped. High speed Internet included. The kitchen had everything we
needed to make a meal, the bathroom was new and clean with fluffy towels
and nice shampoos and soaps. The bedroom had plenty of drawer and closet
space as well as an alarm clock with an i-pod docking station. Bedding
was soft and comfortable. My daughter mentioned the pull out couch was
comfortable, the mattress certainly looked thick.
Housekeeping was great (although we never saw them) upon return to our
room every evening, the place was spotless and in order once again.
I highly recommend, especially for families that want to save on meal
costs, extended stay for one or more weeks and people that like to have
that neighborhood feel rather than a hotel experience.
There really is no negative for me with this hotel. I will stay here on
my next trip.
