The hotel has a great location, literally 15 min. walking to waterfront (Seabus terminal). There is a lot of construction going on in the area, but we have not heard any noise from the construction site in our room. We stayed 3 people in the room, which had 2 queen beds and a pull-out couch, which turned out to be a really comfortable to sleep on, 2 TVs, ok size bathroom. Furniture etc. seemed to be new. Breakfeast is complimentary and given that couple of muffins, tea and coffee I consider adequate. The staff was ok apart from the fact that when our business partners called us from overseas, they were informed we already checked-out which was not the case. Also, be aware that when you check out and want to leave you bag with a consierge, you will have to pay 1 CAD, this I consider extremely cheap on the hotel's part, but oh well... Given the great rate we received from Orbitz, I still rate this hotel above averge and would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

Given that the Rosedale is considered a 3 star suite hotel, we had fairly high expectations even though we were booked for a Standard Room. The best part about the room was the kitchenette. Unfortunately, not much else impressed us. The carpets were in need of shampooing, the beds in the bedroom were very uncomfortable, and the hide-a-bed was more like a hammock (and not in a good, beachy way). The bedding was stained and it took awhile before we could communicate our problem and get it fixed. Thankfully the problem was corrected. The televisions were small. The bathroom could use some updating too. The shower curtain kept blowing in, which was disturbing for a couple reasons.....it allowed water to go all over the floor AND the curtain touched us (after working as a chambermaid in the past, I know that shower curtains aren't laundered often--eww). Elevators are painfully slow at times and the pool needs a good scrubbing. The "breakfast" was minimal, so bring your own food or be prepared to go out for anything substantial.
The location is very good and I imagine that's what draws folks back. If you are the picky type, spend a little more for a "superior" room. We didn't view one, but chances are they will be a step up, and probably worth the upcharge.

My husdand and I have just returned from a tour of Canada and we spent the last 4 nights at this hotel. Our room was super as all the rooms are suites and ours had recently had new carpets etc. Hovever its location currently leaves a lot to be desired., Due to Vancouver holding the winter olympics in 2010 there is an awful lot of building work to be finished and this hotel is right in the middle of it. The surrounding streets are incredibly dirty and there is rubbish everywhere. Also there were a lot of homeless men rummaging through rubbish and asking for money! We definitely had to think carefully about where we were walking! Also some of the surrounding shops and cafes are quite 'tacky'.The indoor pool is only a small 'lap pool' and some of the staff were quite abrupt. If you can afford it stay at the Westin Bayshore - it has a superb location and I wished we had paid just that little bit extra!

We stayed at Rosedale for three nights in August 2008 with high expectations of having a nice holiday in the Vancouver area. The result was the direct opposite. The first disappointment was the breakfast. Trapped in a tiny area behind some vending machines was a pathetic "buffet" consisting of some muffins and beverages. Most of the hotel guests had to eat standing up, since only a handful of tables were available. One night the fire alarm went off. It was barely hearable in the room, more sounding like an alarm in need of a battery exchange, and only after a call to the front desk we came to the understanding that the fire alarm was on and that we were supposed to rush down to the street level. Well down there, we waited with several other guests for a long time, seeing guests coming in and out of the elevators, but no announcements were made. Finally, we were allowed to return, only to find that the alarm now started to sound clearly for a couple of hours. Repeated worried calls to the front desk were only met with "the alarm system is broken". The next day we had no hot water, and only after a call to the front desk we were informed of a malfunctioning hot water system. The hotel was a joke, don't go there.

Stayed 3 days prior to our cruise. The hotel was excellent Hotel Location and close to the library, where there was a bus stop for the Hop on Hop off tours. The bar & restaurant at the Rosedale was excellent ,we dined there for every meal. Excellent meals & very reasonably priced. Within walking distance to the shops on Robson St. Small taxi fare to cruise terminal.

suite with kitchenette area, clean with everything you could need. we were on the 18th floor and near a vent shaft, this caused a humming noise all night that irritated my partner but not myself. parking available at $11 per night. staff not the friendliest we had encountered but the hotel itself is worth a stay. excellent value food at Rosies rest. attached to hotel.

We love Vancouver and returned to the Rosedale for the second time. We were welcomed with an upgrade and had surprise views of snow-capped peaks through high-rise blocks. Reception staff were warm and efficient, going out of the way to provide maps and information. Our suite had everything we needed and the complimentary hot drinks, muffins and pastries each morning were a scrummy bonus.

We stayed five nights and easily filled our days, taking public transport to Grouse Mountain, Granville Island and walking the fabulous Stanley Park. All in all, a wonderful stay.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Rosedale, we had a one bedroom suite, with two queen beds and a pull out sofa in the lounge room. We were traveling with our two teenage sons, we found we had plenty of room for the 4 of us.
We picked this motel again because of the Hotel Location, it is just so handy to shopping and tourist bus stops, all within walking distance.
The front desk was so helpful, on arrival after coming off our cruise ship we were given our room straight away. The lady at the front desk told us about some tours that might interest us, and made all the booking there and then, she even sold us tickets for the "big Bus" which takes you all over Vancouver to heaps and heaps of all the great tourist spots, like Gas Town, Stanley Park, and Canada Place just to name a few, you can hop on and off the bus as many times as you wish for two days for one price, it cost us $75.00 CAD for a family of 4 for 2 days.
The restaurant downstairs is really handy, not overly priced, and a wide range of food, its open for breakfast - lunch and dinner. There is a small store just outside the motel which sells just about everything you may need, and also a 7/11 across the road.
If your looking for a motel in a great Hotel Location, and good prices dont over look this place, you'll have a fantastic time.

We had a great 5 days here in a two bedroom apartment. We are a family of 5 so we neede to utilise the sofa bed. The apartment was very clean and comfortable - extremely well located. Complimentary Coffee & Pastries/muffins available on 2nd floor meant we did not have to organise breakfast. Although it was a little cramped it certainly beat having 2 hotel rooms - cheaper too. We would definitely stay here again

I am constantly traveling due to my profession. So, I was extremely excited to find out I was going to Vancouver, BC. The clients I work for set up the reservations at the Rosedale and explained how close to downtown it was. To be honest, that is the only good thing about the hotel. The wireless service is horrible, it took 4 days before I was able to get service and though I spoke to the front desk, there was not anyone who was qualified to help me stating that "the wireless is handled independently from the hotel and they can provide me service for $10 a day - when I have already purchased wireless service for $40 for the month I will be there. The front desk did not offer assistance with questions regarding housekeeping or laundry services. The vending machine did not have soap powder and when I called to the front desk, they stated that I can go across the street to the convenience store to pick up some laundry detergent. The first room I received did not have heat and they sent the same person who checked the internet to check the heat. I requested a cab and the valet stated he called, but a cab never came and when I went to the front desk to request another call, the attitude was like it was an inconvenience to them to call for me. I really, really am so disappointed in my stay here. The rooms are small and conformed. The bed was hard and uncomfortable...If you want to enjoy your stay in Vancouver, please make another choice of hotels. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone- (not even my worse enemy)
