This hotel was very nice. We stayed there one night, prior to boarding a cruise
ship for a 7 night Northbound Cruise to Alaska. We checked in just before
midnight, hence there weren't any lines. We had two adjoining rooms which both
had a kitchen for in room dining. The rooms were well appointed with a sofa and
two beds. The best part about the stay was their complimentary breakfast buffet
in the morning. They had a variety of hot and cold dishes, ranging from eggs and
waffles to some of the best chocolate long john donuts we have ever tasted. We
frequently stay at Residence Inns and Fairfield Inns and this was by far the
best breakfast offering we have ever seen. A similar breakfast at a local
restaurant would likely be $15 per person. There are very few downsides to the
hotel, but I do have to mention that the elevators took an extremely long time
to come, on average 5-7 minutes. We're young and moderately active, so we found
ourselves using the stairs the majority of the time. The only other
disappointment was some misinformation from the hotel concierge. He quoted us
only 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Stanley Park. This walk took at least 45
minutes, and more along the lines of 75 minutes to get to the main totem pole
area of the park. Because it took so long we ended up having to take taxis back
to the hotel so that we didn't miss their 11am checkout rule.
All in all though, it was a fantastic hotel and we would definitely stay here
again in the future.

Good position, half hour walk from cruise terminal. Very well appointed rooms
with fridge, dishwasher, toaster, oven and general kitchen utensils. Large room
with 3 seater settee, very comfortable queen beds. Some reception staff rather
surly and off hand. Hotel used extensively by the big tour companies. There is
extensive very loud construction work on two sides of the hotel from 0730 to
about 1730 on weekdays and by the look of it this is set to continue for a long
time. There is also muted disco boom boom music from a nearby disco until about
3 or 4 in the morning. Breakfast very good. Small nice pool in garden setting.

The rooms were large and had a great little kitchenette. The beds were very
comfy with lots of pillows both feather and sponge.
There was a delightful cafe for dinner and lunches and the inclusive breakfast
was a large buffet with eggs, pancakes or french toast, hashbrowns and every
imaginable continental-style choice you could possibly desire. Help yourself to
as much juice, tea or coffee as you like.
The price was very good value...would stay there again anytime!
The hotel is situated a half block off Davie street, which is a major thorough
fare in the heart of the gay district. Walking the streets at night wasn't an
issue as some have insinuated. Yes there are a few bars but this is not unusual
for a large metropolitan city. Davie Street also offers many good restaurants
and shopping galore. The hotel is clean, has a tour booth near the entrance.
Checking in was smooth and quick. I traveled with a friend and we were provided
with our own electronic keys. The suite was clean and had 2 queen sized beds
which were quite comfortable. Studio had a mini fridge, microwave, stovetop,
dishes, utensils and cleaning materials. The standard 27" TV had ample satellite
channels, including TCM and ESPN, channels I enjoy watching! The hotel is
totally non-smoking, has a nice whirlpool and an average gym with one treadmill,
walking elliptical, free weights, mats and a 27" TV. Underground parking was
easy to maneuver although the daily parking rate of about $22 seemed steep.
There is major construction going on behind the hotel but since we stayed over a
weekend this was not an issue. View from balcony was decent but only a small
area of ocean could be seen.

I stayed at the Residence Inn for business for a few days. It was fine. Nothing
special. But clean and safe. There is free internet which was good. The
breakfast was very large but quality was just okay. Front desk staff were nice
but I had a couple of requests that were never fulfilled. I forgot to bring
toothpaste and I requested it twice. Once at the front desk and later called
from my room. Through my whole stay they never brought me up any even though
they said they would. Also I requested a wake up call and they didn't call me.
Same thing happened to my colleague. Request a room facing the front of the
hotel as I was facing the back and which looks onto very noisy daytime
construction. Convenient Hotel Location though. This hotel is fine for business or
family trips but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for couples on a romantic
getaway or for a luxury stay.

My work sees me frequent Vancouver city centre hotels frequently, and I have
stayed in most hotels in the area. This hotel is very well maintained, has large
functional well appointed rooms, a very good complimentary breakfast, a
professional and cheerful staff, and is spotless. The kitchen area even has a
dishwasher!! The only slight downside would be the Hotel Location, which is a 5 minute
walk from Robson St. however only 5 minutes the other way has you on the
seafront walkway. Very highly recommended.
