Having read the reviews, we stayed for 2 separate nights. The staff were
friendly and helpful. Though the standard room is not big, it's nice and
clean. Location is perfect. I especially like the services it provides;
free wifi and breakfast which was way better than my expectation. It's
really value for money.
PS I have been reading the TA reviews as reference for many years. I
feel guilty for not giving any reviews for other users. So I decided to
share my experiences from now on. This is my first review! Hope this
helps.

My partner & I were a bit wary when we first booked the budget Ramada
Limited Downtown as it was much cheaper than comparable options in town.
Luckily, we were able to cast aside our misconceptions right away when
we checked in to our clean, spacious and well-appointed room, which had
a street view. The room was furnished with a tv (in its large stand), a
small desk, an armchair + ottoman and a double bed with plenty of
pillows. Importantly, the bathroom was spotless and full of the
requisite towels and toiletries.
The free WiFi connection is a big bonus. There was no problem with the
connection in our room, which was several floors up.
The included continental breakfast is also quite nice. The selection is
not elaborate but it is superior to many other included breakfasts at
other budget hotels. Options included instant oatmeal, various dried
cereals with milk, freshly brewed coffee, bananas, apples, bagels,
muffins and toast.
This hotel was within walking distance to many popular attractions like
Chinatown and Robson St. There are buses that run right outside of the
hotel and a Skytrain stop just a few blocks away too.
When I return to Vancouver again, I will likely stay at the Ramada
Limited Downtown as it provides excellent value and convenience in a
fairly expensive city.

I stayed at the Ramada Limited in early January 2010 on a trip thru
Seattle, Washington and Vancouver before the Winter Olympics. The hotel,
as has been mentioned by other reviewers, is in a marginal area near
downtown, Gastown and Chinatown. You can easily walk to all the tourist
areas such as Canada Place, Robson Street, the Canada Line subway to YVR,
Stanley Park and Granville Island. I was approached several times and
asked for money but the homeless seem to be very well mannered and I
never felt threatened or worried, even late at night.
The hotel itself is in an older building that has been newly remodeled.
The room and bathroom were both quite small but acceptable for a
downtown hotel. The bed was one of the most comfortable I'd had in quite
a while and the linens were comfy and new. I was in an "executive" room
on the 6th floor facing Pender Street and I still heard noise with the
window closed. There was also some between room noise and occasional
voices from the hallway. The room included a small CRT television and
remote with some local channels but no premium (HBO, Showtime, etc.)
options.
The room included breakfast, in the basement, with a large selection of
items and good quantity. There were a lot of people eating but there
always seemed to be space available. There was 1 Internet-enabled PC in
the lobby to check e-mails if you didn't bring a PC and use the hotels
free wi-fi. As others have mentioned, there is valet parking for $25 CAD
but I didn't need this as I was able to easily get around the city by
walking, there is really no need for a car and the subway goes directly
from the airport to a station only a few blocks from the hotel.
I made my reservation by utilizing the Ramada website and got a good
rate and would return or recommend this hotel to others. The building is
old and the rooms small but if you can get along without a pool, on-site
restaurant, views, etc. this is a good place to stay while exploring
downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.Guest Reviews of the Ramada Limited Downtown Vancouver

I stayed in this hotel for a trip to see a concert it was a cute and very clean
little hotel with friendly staff and a daily continental breakfast The location
was close to G.M place (where the concert was). the pacific center mall, and all
the cool shops. The pub next door was a great place to end out nights. The room
we stayed in was a bit small but we didn't spend much time in it anyway so it
didn't matter.

We stayed here for a week in December . Location is awesome, close to all public
transport & a short walk to Gastown, Chinatown, downtown shopping & BC Place
(Hockey stadium). Slightly down-market part of Vancouver but this suited us
fine, plenty of cheap eats around, make sure to try Finch's for tasty baguettes
& Goldies for the best pizza in town (by the slice).
Staff were great, they really made us feel welcome & nothing was too much
trouble for them. I will most likely stay here again on my next trip to
Vancouver.

This hotel definitely met my expectations and went above in terms of service and
quality. Upon arrival we were upgraded from a regular room to the executive
suite! The location was perfect, in the centre of downtown near Seymour which
was just 3 min away from the downtown BCIT campus I had to attend daily after
grabbing a great breakfast at the hotel. Historic Gastown was also right around
the corner. Busy and lively Granville and Robson street are near by too.
The staff was always present and very helpful and knowledgeable about what there
was in the city and how to get there. The one and only thing that was a minor
minus was that the walls seemed to be pretty thin, you could usually hear noises
from the hall in the room and vice versa, but none the less for the price I
paid, it was a minor thing and the stay was excellent! I will be back in the dry
season :)

It is situated on a W. Pender Street, which the public transportation system is
very accessible, whether train, bus or sea bus. It is near to convenience stores
and fast food. It is very near to the downtown city's attractions like the
Harbour Center, 20-min bus to Stanley Park, and 10-min sea bus ride to Lonsdale
Quay. Though situated on a busy street, the room is sound-proof. The room is
compact, but the quality and cleanliness of the room makes up for it. Customer
service is excellent.
We stayed for one-night and the breakfast is more than continental. It included
generous bagels, danishes, cereals, orange juice, fruits and has pancake-styled
scrambled eggs. The breakfast-attendant make sure there is always abundant
supply, utensils are complete, and the tables/chairs are clean/ready for the
next occupants. We have given her a generous tip, though not required, which is
worth taking the breakfast than grabbing one from to-go-breakfast station/s.
One downside is the aisles'/corridor's smell due to dampness. Probably worth the
management to invest further in forced heated ventilation. Don't worry, the
faint smell doesn't go inside the bedrooms.
Definitely worth the stay, will even do it next time --- a good bang for the
buck!
TIP: Staying in the rooms at the west side of the hotel would able to see the
Harbour Center Tower.
