Great location BUT this hotel is in between two nightclubs and bad
techno music revberates through your room until 3am. We were on the
third floor and the music was really really loud. I can tolerate alot of
things but this was almost unbearable. Otherwise the room was very nice.
Great bed, nice sheets, nice clean bathroom with good shower. Room was
great.
If you in Vancouver to party this might be the place for you as it in a
great location and is reasonably priced but if your planning on trying
to sleep before 3am go somewhere else.

I had the pleasure of staying in Vancouver from October 2009-January
2010 preparing security personnel for the 2010 Olympics. I stayed the
entire time at the Ramada Inn & Suites located near downtown Vancouver
on Granville Street. The hotel is located between two nightclubs that
are very popular on the weekends. There are plenty of restaurants nearby
(Do not eat at the G-Sport across the street - My burger had plastic in
it and the cook found that amusing and said "The other cook doesn't keep
his area clean - no sh#%$). Two Parrots is good and the White Spot,
Cactus Club and the Keg were awesome. I became a "regular" at the hotel
and the ALL the staff were extremely courteous, helpful and always
attentive to my business and personal needs. Diana was the best !! She
always greeted me with a smile and a big Canadian hello and she always
called to make sure I was coming to town and if my plans changed she
always called so my company wasn't charged because I didn't have time or
forgot to call. The rooms have been upgraded with new beds, furniture
and flat screen TV's which made my stay even more comfortable. My only
suggestion would be if you want some peace and quite on the weekends,
stay in the rear of the hotel. Nightlife on Granville street can get
pretty crazy but all in all I had a fantastic time and I can't say
enough great things about the staff and management. If you want a
friendly breakfast, go see Benny and Caroline or Shannon at the Morrisey
next door, they are quite the team.

We stayed here and thought it was great..!
Rooms are very nice, the hotel is located on Granville Street which is
really central. There is a Tim Horton's right around the corner which is
the main thing and free passes to the Steve Nash gym..!
The ONLY complaint was that it can be a little noisy. You may wish to
sleep with ear plugs because people walking around through the hotel can
be a little noisy

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are clean and updated.
Brand new Flat Panel TV and Fridge.
I booked this hotel to be close to all of the action in downtown
Vancouver. I didn't expect the rooms to be newly renovated. Rooms are
spacious. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom worked well. Had a
refrigerator. All in all, I had a great stay there, and the front desk
staff was very efficient and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to
anyone.

I stayed for just one night but will definitely be using this hotel again. I had
some issues with my credit card company from the usual pre-authorizing that were
quickly resolved thanks to the helpful staff. Clean rooms great staff in an
excellent location. The only downside was to my stay was the cramped courtyard
view but there are many rooms that have a street side view. I also was
appreciative to the knowledgeable staff for their guidance of surrounding
amenities. Thanks Ramada !!!

We stayed here for a long, Boxing Day weekend. We were in room #412 (one of the
rooms that faced another room). Room was a little on the small side by American
standards, but OK. One of the beds was right next to the door so one could look
down the hall while lying in bed with the door open. Good (free) wireless
signal. Housekeeping appeared to be thorough...didn't see any of the dirty room
problems reported by others. The toilet handle was broken (chain had come loose
from the handle but one could flush the toilet by taking the lid off and pulling
the chain). Reported to front desk and they apologized but (on Christmas night)
their maintenance staff had already gone for the day. They offered to move us or
send someone up the next day (which is what we did as we had already settled
in). Maintenance came the next morning and fixed it in less than 5 minutes.
Parking was $15/day but well worth it considering the central location. Some
observations:
* Our experience with reception was very good (friendly, informative) but there
were two receptionists on at all times and when we first checked in, the other
receptionist had few social skills and really shouldn't have been in a service
position
* Elevators. If you are elevator-phobic, you will be unhappy with these
elevators. I would assume perfectly safe, but on the older side with quite a bit
of wiggle
* Noise. At one point, we could (very faintly) hear the thump-thump of the music
from the pub. And we were on the 4th floor. We overhead the receptionist
advising an earlier guest to not consider staying on the 1st floor (and I would
say probably not on the 2nd floor either). The hotel does appear to have thin
walls, occasionally we would hear some thumps above us or hear people in the
hall. Other than that, the room was very quiet.
* View. The hotel footprint is an 'E' shape, so probably 2/3 of the rooms face
another room or the alley, only the rooms on the exterior facing Granville or
Davie have any views. If you want a view or must have your curtains open, this
is not the hotel for you.
* Location. Granville is not the most pleasant neighborhood, but it's busy
enough to be safe and was great to be walking distance to central downtown,
Yaletown, Robson & the West Village. Very convenient location for those without
a car.
* Rooms. When looking at the floor plan posted by the elevator (showing fire
routes), it was obvious that the room sizes varied *greatly*. Some reviewers
complaints about being put in closets are legitimate, some of the rooms are
absolutely tiny and some are multi-room suites. I think much of your experience
will depend will depend on size and location of room. The beds were very
comfortable with many pillows and comfortable bedding. Room heating worked as
expected and was reasonably quiet.
* Price. We paid $48/night on Priceline and considered it an excellent value for
that price. But we also didn't experience the negatives that many people did.
Given all these factors, I can understand the wide range of experiences
reported.

Pretty much Average hotel, not so much fun......good rates but I had prefer a
different hotel with a better view at a place like Vancouver.

we recently had the pleasure of staying at this great hotel. myself and my
girlfriend were in town for the thanksgiving weekend and the hotel went way
beyond there call of duty for us. the staff was amazing, courteous,
understanding and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. this is not
the ritz carleton and if that is what you are looking for then you should stay
at the ritz. this hotel is quiet, comfy and close to everything you could
possibly need. i made one phone call to the hotel for some special arrangements
and when i arrived everything was taken care. what more can you want from a
hotel than clean, comfy rooms, courteous helpful staff, and a great location with
very reasonable rates. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is
looking for a great comfortable place to stay.
