I wanted to stay in the heart of Vancouver and this place could not be any more central! Right on Granville with tons of great nightlife (and by-the-slice pizza), it was very convenient for sightseeing.

I was in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Good stuff. Also went over to Granville Island (on foot). Not bad.

Will stay here again.

I never intended to stay at the Ramada Inn and Suites hotel in the first place, but the hotel that I had chosen was closed at the last minute for renovation and so they re-booked me into the Ramada as it was in a similar area at a similar price. When I arrived at the hotel, I was shocked at the seediness of the surrounding area, but carried on to check-in anyway.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and I have no complaints about them at all for the duration of my stay. When I arrived in my room, I was a bit upset to see that there was no view out of my window - only a wall - and so the curtains stayed shut for the duration of my stay. That aside, the room was clean and comfortable, the TV worked, the wireless internet was good, and the bathroom looked newly done. I didn't venture outside after it got dark - as I was travelling alone, I wasn't sure as to how safe it was, especially given the number of homeless people in the area, and the abundance of sex shops on the street. However, if I had been with others, the convenience of the hotel for the nearby clubs and bars would have been great - it is within 3 streets of the trndy 'Yaletown' area, which was really nice, even in the day. Also the beach is about a 10 minute walk away, and there are plenty of buses from the street outside.

For the price, I guess you couldn't have asked for much more, as the main problem was the area, not the hotel itself. Having said that, I wouldn't go back.

We appreciate our guests taking the time to provide feedback.

Although we are located in the Entertainment District of Downtown, rest assured that our Hotel Location is very safe both during the day and after dark. Traveler's will be happy to see the upcoming changes to Granville street both in atmosphere, lighting and asthetics. The city of Vancouver is also slowly closing the few adult stores which are located further down Granville.

We are happy that you found some of our remodeling to be to your liking and would be happy to have offer you a complimentary night on future stay in Vancouver by contacting our sales department directly to enjoy the improvements we are making and those that are being made to the area.

We booked our room through Hotwire and got a very good deal, but had no idea of what kind of area the hotel was in. I have no complaints about the rooms. I was actually quite impressed with the bedding, the comforters on the beds looked comfy and there were lots of puffy pillows on each bed. The room was small but nice and clean and seemed updated recently. The problem with us was the area it was in. My husband and I came to Vancouver with our 2 year old son and the area around the hotel is definitely NOT for young children. Lots of adult porn shops and bars right around the hotel. Also I have never had to PAY for parking at a hotel before. The parking lot is very small and hard to get out of. The fee was $15 for parking. So we got a good rate through Hotwire, but with the parking fee we could have gotten another hotel room in a nicer area for probably the same rate. We actually only had dinner after going to an Aquarium, got back to our hotel room before dark, since we didn't want to be walking around that area after dark, and then we just decided to go home. What was the point in sitting in a hotel room all evening just watching TV? So after this experience, we probably won't use hotwire again, and we definitely won't stay at this hotel either.

I must begin by stating that I never write reviews on hotels; but I felt the need this time, if only to allow others to be "in the know". We came to Vancouver to mix business with pleasure (and I absolutely love Vancouver!!!), this hotel was close to one where a conference was happening and sounded great online. I was not expecting the lap of luxury and the price was fine. We booked a king sized room for two adults over 5 nights in early December. When we showed up, the lobby was dingy and the elevators were acting up (and did so for the duration of our stay), but the front desk service was polite—they warned us that the nightclub next-door would be busy and loud and they advised us to take a room towards the back, we did so.

I began to worry as we walked the hallways: carpets strewn with debris, torn curtains, dirty walls and poor lighting in the hallways. When we entered the room it was a total mess, the bed was not made, floors—like the hallway—were clearly not swept, there was barely room to walk around the bed and the light in the bathroom was broken. We took our concerns to the front desk and they exchanged our room for a suit one floor up in the front of the hotel. It was at least clean and quiet if not lovely. What a disappointment, We won’t stay again. There must be something better at this price.

P.S. The immediate street scene very seedy: mostly adult shops and clubs but there is lots to enjoy if you walk a few blocks.

The Hotel Location is great if you are in Vancouver to party. There is a night club right next to the hotel and on weekends you hear the music pounding all night. Granville street from the hotel to the downtown area (about 10-15 blocks) is mostly night clubs, small all night eateries, and porn shops.

The hotel is right on the edge of the gay district...just go to Davie street at end of the block and turn left. One gay nightclub after another.

Also it is located next to the Granville street bridge over false creek. Just walk over the bridge and you are on Granville island. famous district for shopping and browsing. Farmers market etc.

If you don't want to hear music all night, don't book this hotel on the weekends.

The rooms are small but clean. Staff are attentive.
