These Vancouver Hotel reviews are the subjective opinion of a Guest and not of Allure Hotels any
concerns or request can be made at time of booking either on-line or on the
phone. Jun 14, 2008
Stayed here for the last night in Canada, chosen specifically for its close
proximity to the Yale blues venue. I love it when I get lucky! Although our
rental car was too tall for the underground parkade, they were happy for me to
use the staff car park. On getting to our room we found we had been upgraded to
a suite, (we had prepaid the room months before so it turned out to be a free
upgrade) The rooms were extremely well equipped, the bed was full king size &
hugely comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the only
thing to mar the experience at all was beyond the control of the hotel. I would
thoroughly recommend this hotel, but if you're staying (anywhere) in Vancouver
in the next year or so, be prepared for lots of construction noise from dawn to
dusk, as the city readies itself for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Stayed at this property for one night and received an online rate of $107.00.
The hotel was very adequate for the price paid, the rooms were clean,
comfortable, well decorated and staff were very friendly. The hotel is only
seven storys high so you do not get too much of a view. The Hotel Location of the
hotel is on the outskirts of the downtown core, about a 10 to 15 minute walk to
Robson St. shopping, 30 minutes to GM Place and probably a 45 minute walk to
Stanley Park and the aquarium. I did not use the pool although it looked clean
and well maintained although small. I do recommend this property to others who
are looking for a more reasonable priced hotel downtown.

A three night stay at the end of our journey from Calgary across the Rockies
other hotels visited were
· Sandman Hotel Calgary
· Mount Royal Banff
· The Thompson Kamloops
· Amethyst Jasper
Journies end.
Well-located hotel a few minutes walk from the city centre & the river with the
ferries to Granville Island.
Nice reception, with restaurant off, rooms on floors above. A swimming pool to
the rear.
Bedrooms were a good size & comfortable, bathrooms clean with change of laundry
each day.
Staff pleasant – in short the hotel does it 's job without fuss – a perfectly
good Hotel Location to either finish off your tour or to do business in
As for food & supplies – there is a store across the street, a 7/11 round the
corner, in the evening we dined at the Yaletown Brewery – a vast pub with a good
micro brewery attached, and at the both the Boathouse ( good value & great
views) & Rain City Grill ( a bit pricey) in English Bay a 20 minute walk down
‘Pacific’ from the Quality. For Breakfast if you have time take the $2.5O
aqua-taxi ride to Granville Island you will not be disappointed.
The Quality is a decent hotel in a good Hotel Location that does what it says on the
tin.

Stayed at the Quality Inn for a couple of nights before returning to the UK. It
is well located at False Creek, to either visit Granville Island or walk to the
shops or other attractions. Good bus routes nearby.
Pretty similar standard to other Quality Inns we have stayed in. The front of
house and waiting staff are all helpful, the restaurant food is good and good
value for money.

From arrival to departure the stay was wonderful. The staff is the best, very
friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about the staff or the
hotel. The rooms are very clean and bright. The hotel is right in the middle of
everything. Davie Village is a two minute walk. Granville Island is also a short
distance. It seemed like a very safe neighborhood. The rooms are so affordable.
You definately get more than what you pay for here. I will stay here each and
every time I return to Vancouver.

Upside:
1) Relatively cheap with their 3 nights for 2 offer.
2) Quiet (at rear of hotel)
3) Oven/grill
4) Free Wi-Fi internet access from room
Downside:
1) The hotel misrepresents itself - there is a prominent picture of a waterfront
Hotel Location/building in the front page of the hotel website at http://www.innatfalsecreek.com/
but it turned out that this is NOT the hotel (or the hotel's Hotel Location), despite
it being the only outside shot, and no other picture on their site to counteract
this misleading impression. Instead it is an oldish building on a major road in
what seemed a run-down district.
2) The name is Inn at False creek - this would support the waterside Hotel Location
implied from the photo above, but is also not the case. It is not AT False
creek, although is relatively near.
3) The first impression of the hotel / room was so different from that
implied/imagined from the photos on the hotel website we were minded to check
out immediately. The room is (apparently partly refurbished) in a very old
fashioned style, and gives a dowdy run-down hotel impression. The kitchen and
bathroom fittings were old, scratched and dirty, adding to this impression.
4) Coming from Europe we did not know/expect that the fan unit on the wall was
the only source of heat - we thought it was an air conditioner and left it
alone(off), especially as the scale just said 1-10 with 10 as cooler. We were
VERY cold in the night (I caught a chill/Cold which lasted our whole holiday).
When we found out it heated and was the only source of heat, we used it only to
find it far too noisy and dry for comfort. There was no temperature setting
(Degrees or Fahrenheit) - just the scale from 1 to 10 to experiment with each
night. It also never shuts off.

Hotel is in great Hotel Location, just across the water from Granville Island. There's
also a 7/11 and a little grocery store only one block from the hotel. The rooms
were very nice for the price. I paid a little over $300 for a double for 4
nights. |
