I have travelled many times to Vancouver on business and have found that hotels
tend to over priced. When I switched to leisure travel, I was looking for the
same quality, convenience and comfort as the expensive places, but at a more
reasonable price. The Pacific Palisades delivers. This was our third visit, and
while a little concerned about the change of ownership, my worries turned out to
be completely unfounded.
Staff - extremely friendly, courteous and helpful, from the front desk all the
way through the organization.
Rooms - very comfortable and well equipped. The decor is somewhat garish for my
taste, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and quiet.
Location - shopping, dining and entertainment and sight seeing are very close
by. Some excellent restaurants at reasonable prices are a few steps away.
Price - well under the norm for downtown Vancouver
My only criticism is that there is no attached restaurant or bar. But as stated
previously, there are many, many establishments close by, so it really isnt a
problem.
Although this location has become somewhat inconvenient for our reason for
visiting Vancouver, we will put up with the inconvenience and stay there again
and again and again.

I've stayed at this hotel three times and each time the experience was
different. It has a great location on Robson Street ("the" shopping street in
Vancouver with restaurants which stay open later than anywhere else in town),
and it's very central: walking distance to English Bay, Gas Town, Stanley Park,
or a to the water taxis to Granville Island or the Sea Bus to the north shore.
The hotel is nicely done -- with all we've come to expect: a spa and pool,
restaurant. I've had a great room, a good room, and an "iffy" room. There are
two towers so more rooms than you may realize. Some have great views and are
nicely done in a modern way. But some are a little "tired" with "eh" views -- so
if you don't like the room you're shown, I'd ask to be moved. In fairness to
this hotel, they may be remodeling over time so perhaps there aren't any (or
many) "tired" rooms any more?

We had booked this hotel to stay in back in March and upon arriving the hotel
staff were most helpful in rearranging the rooms and rates we would be charged.
Sadly, this hotel is closing in April 2010, but the good news is that because of
this their rates were discounted almost by half of our original quote.
We really enjoyed the space of the deluxe double room, a suite with kitchen -
which was pleasantly well set up. The location is excellent and the staff very
friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting
Vancouver before April. A bouquet to the staff we dealt with as well.

Fabulous Hotel, great location in downtown Vancouver. Just off Robson Road, and
minutes to loads of great eating experiences. The breakfast and room deal is
well worth it, with the restaurant downstairs serving THE most delicious
breakfast! Rooms were great size, and very clean, and the Concierge was
extremely helpful.

We stayed from 20 - 23 November before heading up to Whister. The front desk
staff were really helpful at all times and one suggesting a store where we could
rent a tandem to ride around Stanley Park. Free internet (3 pcs) available in
the lobby for 30 minutes if you pre register with a credit card. Only criticism
was that the windows were single glazed and the damp weather caused lots of
condensation to form on them overnight. They need to consider upgrading to
double glazing. Liked the space in the corner suite and the views across to the
sea. Continental breakfast good but the same everyday though you could upgrade
to a cooked breakfast for a small fee. The swimming pool accessed across the
courtyard was quiet and of sufficient size.

My friend and I stayed here for one night in March 2009 and we loved our hotel
room. Beds comfy super, clean and quiet. The front desk staff was very helpful.
My initial res was for a lower floor room and they had put me on the 14th. When
I mentioned this they changed it right away. The complimentary wine was a nice
touch when you arrive tired and thirsty. Nice to say in a hotel that looks
exactly as represented on the internet. Bravo!

I can't say enough about the great experience we had staying here. Location
location location. The rooms are not my style, but HUGE. It was like being in an
apartment, lots of space, light, amenities and the balcony view was
breathtaking. Great central location. The
Zin Restaurant food is so-so, but
servers were great. Hotel Staff always went out of their way to be
accommodating. Our only regret...we stayed somewhere else for our last 2 nights
in Vancouver.

Stayed at the Pacific Palisades Hotel for a night and loved it, I will certainly go back when
visiting Vancouver.
Loved the free in-room internet access and the rooms had a crazy view on the
city!
But the best is the location, directly on Vancouver main shopping street, Robson
St.
Little downside: My room was located in a different building (40 meters apart)
than the main one but it is not that bad. Maybe it's a different story when it
rains?
