It's really hard not to like this place, and once you walk into the Pacific
Palisades lobby, you know right away that this is not just another standard-
hotel. Guest rooms, spread out over two towers are spacious, airy, and equipped
with kitchenettes (with mini bar items priced at corner-store prices). The
one-bedroom suites include large living/dining rooms and balconies. The hotel
has a large indoor pool and fitness room, and allows pets to stay free. The
location is right on trendsetting Robson Street, minutes from beaches, shopping,
cafes, and restaurants. The hotel staff are warm, friendly, and helpful. The
hotel has been known to host many Celebrities

We stayed with two dogs - perfect for them. Staff very very accommodating and
welcoming! Great big room, super location, great price. Yes, decor was a bit
weird and tired, but the room was still very comfortable.
Only negative: the bell boy watched and chatted with us as we took our luggage
off the dolly in the room.
We will definitely stay again!

just returned from 4 night stay at the Pacific Palisades.
was greeted very warmly from staff upon arrival. stayed in room on 20th floor in
west tower which had a great view. very comfortable executive king room with
good storage area and a kitchenette which was nice to have. the staff was always
very nice and very helpful with scheduling activities, recommending
restaurants...the hotel location was also a big plus, great shopping on Robson,
close to Stanley Park...the bed was very comfortable and sheets were very soft.
the room was very clean and I am very particular about such things. there was
very minor amount of noise from elevators, really not a problem at all.
I would definitely stay here again.

My family and I (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed recently for 6 nights at end
of 3 week trip of Canada; found the PP to be extremely good.
Accommodation on 10th floor was spacious and well laid out; staff welcoming and
location very good for Vancouver.
One problem with room service was quickly and easily resolved to our
satisfaction.

I love this Vancouver hotel for romantic getaways. The rooms are bright and
spacious. They used to offer a wide variety of romance packages and it's a bit
disappointing to see they have pared it down to one that is fairly tame. I
prefer the variety offered before, especially the racier "Guilty Pleasures"
packages.
However, I can't say enough good things about the staff and the space and even
the location on Robson Street makes for lots of opportunities for urban fun.

I booked a suite at the Pacific Palisades because I was attending a conference
held in downtown Vancouver. A friend from Vancouver picked me up at the airport,
and stayed with me during my 4 days at the hotel. The suite was larger than I
had expected ... we had a full kitchen, dining area, separate living room with a
sofa that turned into a pretty comfortable bed, plus bedroom and bath.
Everything was very clean and attractively decorated. The kitchen was very well
stocked; we could have easily held a dinner party there. The bedroom had a
walk-in closet with an interior light -- a really practical idea. Bathroom was
clean and attractive. No where did we find any peeling wallpaper, damaged
baseboards, or other problems mentioned in some reviews. They must have fixed
those problems.
The room was full of natural light. The balconey ran the full width of the
kitchen and living room. I suppose we could have used the AC, but we had the
patio doors and windows open most of the time. Yes, it does let the street noise
filter in, but after an evening of dining out and enjoying a glass of wine, I
had no problem sleeping.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi area was great. The pool is exactly the right
temperature. The staff in reception, the concierge, and other staff we spoke to
were all very friendly and helpful. Excellent, really, and obviously took great
pride in the hotel property.
One really nice feature -- one that I did not know about until we checked in --
was that there is a manager's wine reception every afternoon for an hour, right
outside the restaurant in a mini art gallery / lobby area. Nice wine, nice
surroundings, great price (no charge!) and no pressure to dine in the restaurant
after. Just a really nice extra touch at the Pacific Pallisades that will
certainly influence me to return there whenever I return to Vancouver.

First of all, you cannot ask for a better Hotel Location that the Pacific Palisades
Hotel Location. Located downtown, it is easy walking to a wide variety of restaurants
and shopping. And there are two Big Bus pick ups/drop offs nearby. Our room was
very nice. We especially enjoyed the kitchenette area. After tiring days spent
sightseeing, my husband and I opted to get take out from restaurants on Robson
Street and eat our dinner at the kitchen table! I have no complaints concerning
the room. I really have only one small complaint. I didn't feel that Pacific
Palisades staff "oozed" friendly spirit! With the exclusion of the wonderfully
helpful young lady who checked us in Saturday morning (June 21) - she, and I
don't know her name, was very helpful giving us lunch ideas, directions, etc., I
don't think I ever heard another staff member speak! In all honesty, my husband
and I did not have need for the concierge, bellmen, etc., but when I am staying
at a hotel, I do expect to be greeted by the bellmen as I am making my way to
the room. And in the mornings when I went to the lobby for a newspaper, I was
not greeted at all. I guess I'm being picky. After commenting on the lack of
friendliness, my husband told me that I wasn't in the South! Well, yes, as a
Southerner, I am used to a friendly atmosphere, but I don't care where you are,
if you are working in the hospitality industry, you should be welcoming to all.

The Hotel Location is the key for this hotel. There are other hotels in the strip on
the Robson Street but this one had the best combination of being affordable,
perfectly located, and with some attractive hotel features.
I enjoyed the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi, busboys are very handy, Romina at
the reception. desk was very friendly, free Starbucks coffee in the lobby, rooms
are stocked with many drinks (not free).
Room was so, so. Draperies are coming of the wall, windows are drafty, and be
careful with ordering movies. Robson's side is very noisy if you are an early
bed goer.
Parking is extremely expensive and I would check the rates around the hotel and
then talk to a manager.
Would I stay again? Definitely!

We stayed at the Pacific Palisades on our return from Whistler - only one night;
we wished it could have been longer. It felt like we were in our own little
apartment in the city with a balcony and a fabulous view of the bay - and a
spectacular sunset. When we checked in we were greeted with enthusiasm and
informed that as Kimpton InTouch members we had been upgraded to a suite on a
higher floor, and that specifics in our profile had been acknowledged. We
appreciated the recognition.
The Hotel Location can't be beat for an urban vacation, especially if you are familiar
with the city (or enjoy exploring one) - you feel like a resident and not a
tourist. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower was excellent.
Although the property is not shiny and brand new (like the large chains) it
exudes charm and character. We loved it and will return for a longer stay.
