Booked a couple of nights here after our Whistler stay (through air
miles) and weren't disappointed.
It is based on Robson street - which is one of the busier streets in
Vancouver, lots of Restaurants and shops to keep everyone interested. We
walked everywhere (a little ambitious) - but covered a lot of the island
and can recommend Granville Island and Stanley Park as must visits.
Very nice staff - without exception. The room was very big - with a huge
(& comfortable) King Size bed. The museum floor means you get some nice
First Nation pieces of art in the room - and some good publications to
read. We went just on a room only basis (lots of cafe's around for
breakfast) but on our second night when it was raining and we were tired
we decided to stay at O'Douls the Hotels restaurant. Prices were on the
'upper' end of our normal scale - but the food and service was a real
treat. We paid $69 for a 3 course set meal including a wine paired to
each of our choices per course. Lucas the waiter was very knowledgeable
and made us feel very welcome - excellent way to spend the last evening.
Overall - recommended - we wouldn't hesitate to return if we go back to

I thought I should contribute here as I had a lovely time at the Listel.
We were on the 5th floor in a Gallery Room. The check in was efficient
and lacked warmth of information.
On the 5th floor, the lift door opens onto a nice exhibit in a glass
case. The corridor was decorated tastefully with very nice choice of
paintings. Upon entering our room we found 2 big Queen size beds and
lovely appointment of furniture. On the Gallery Floor rooms, you get
free high speed internet , free coffee service (really nice coffee). The
Internet speed is fine and I had no cause for complain.
The gym is very small and not worth the floor space.
The location of the Hotel is excellent. As most of the reviewers pointed
out, Hon's just opposite and a multitude of great sushi shops and
creperies.
The housecleaning was excellent. As I was travelling with my 2 teenage
sons, the room was left messy and when we return, order has been
restored.
The shower is too small, but the little alcove where you make coffee is
nice enough.
We dined at O'Doul's for breakfast and for dinner. Both occasions the
food was good.
The waiting staff at the restaurant were not really friendly. After
Whistler I must admit it will be hard to find good waiting staff. The
dinner meal took 30 minutes to arrive and the restaurant was almost
empty. The waiter made wise remarks when we did not order desserts. We
were so bored after waiting so long for our mains so decided to skip
dessert. We walked over to the creperie instead.
The benes were divine, some of the best we have had.
I really like this hotel for its cleanliness, location, furnishings,
safety, green motto.
I will return without hesitation.
The warmth of staff is patchy. Only met one nice and helpful guy from
reception who ordered our cab when we departed. The others mostly
ignored us, did not greet when we entered foyer and mostly wore a
disgruntled expression.

Too bad the weather was horrible. The hotel was very clean and staff
were friendly. Also a good value for the money. Close to shopping and
restaurants. Just don't eat at the restaurant next to the hotel- the
bartenders do not know how to make drinks. The room was a great size.
Its just too bad it rained every day of the 4 days we were in VancouverGuest Reviews of the Listel Hotel Vancouver

The charming Listel Art Hotel is a clever concept by its Japanese owners. Guests
are surrounded by art; it lines the hallways, poetry is etched in the windows,
jazz oozes nightly from the hotel’s O’Douls Restaurant, accompanied by cuisine
of the region. Themed floors include a “gallery theme” curated by a local art
gallery. Rooms on the “museum floor” have a British Columbia theme, making use
of native woods for furniture, colors reminiscent of the natural surroundings
and art from the Pacific Northwest. The hotel is located between the downtown
financial district and the residential Westend neighborhood, still in close
proximity to Stanley Park.

We stayed at the Listel Hotel from December 31st, 2009 to January 4th, 2010 for
a quick getaway for New Year's. This was our first time staying in downtown
Vancouver. This is a truly amazing hotel. The service is excellent and the
location right on Robson Street can't be better. The rooms are very clean and
quiet. This is definitely the place to stay for us when we'll be back in
Vancouver. Cost for valet parking is a little steep ($26/day), but this is
common for the area.

We won 2 nights stay at the Listel Hotel.
Arrived very tired from a long flight and were welcomed by friendly desk staff.
Found a lovely clean End room on the Gallery (5th) Floor ,with a very good view
of Robson Street and the Harbor. In room coffee maker with supplies was
complementary, with very good coffee. Nice bathroom. Nice window seat to sit and
people watch.
There is a Hot but and exercise room on the 2nd. floor.
Umbrella's at the desk for quests use (found this out after we got rained on).
We were treated very well ,no difference than any paying guest.
We enjoyed our stay and would return to the Listel.

From the reservation booking agent, to the front desk staff, to our room, it was
beyond our expectations. Our room had a huge balcony with a view of the harbour
and mountains. We could walk to everywhere from the hotel and enjoyed great
restaurants in the area. I really liked how environmentally active the Listel
is. Everything from their heating and air conditioning to their soap dispensers
had the environment in mind. The King sized bed in our room was the only thing
that could have been a little less hard, but was certainly adequate. There was
lovely art throughout the hotel, including in our room.

Great location on Robson Street... friendly, welcoming staff, clean and
comfortable rooms, close to Stanley Park, 25 minute walk to Yaletown or
Gastown... it was a really lovely place to stay and I would not hesitate to stay
there again.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights with my partner in mid-November. This
hotel is rather unique as some room's and most of the corridors contain artworks
on loan from local museums. The room I stayed in on the sixth floor contained
local first nation artwork from the University of BC. Some of this artwork can
be purchased.
I stayed in a room with a king-size bed which was as comfortable as it was wide
and I had a view over Robson Street which was welcome. For the first night of
our stay we were on the second floor and this room faced a bleak back street and
we were woken by the noise of a garbage truck. When we bought thgis to the
managements attention they had no hesitation in moving us to a room on the sixth
floor with a view and less noise.
One difference between the rooms was that the second floor room had a large flat
screen tv mounted on the wall, whilst the sixth floor room had an old-style tv
in a cupboard.
The bathroom was small but adequate. There was a mini fridge in the room stocked
to overflowing with every type of drink imaginable. You would have to be a heavy
duty drinker to even go close to emptying this bar fridge.
There were coffee making facilities in the room, but as is usual for North
American hotels no hot water jug for tea drinkers like me. The water from the
coffee pot is never hot enough to make a good cup of tea.
The service was excellent and all the staff I encountered were extra friendly.
The Listel is located at the Stanley Park end of Robson Street, but still within
an easy walk of most Vancouver attractions.

We stayed here for one night enroute to interior BC, aka Okanagan Valley.
Arrived around noon, took lunch recommendation from reception, Miko Sushi, just
across the street...fresh, good value sushi! We partook of the 5-6pm cocktail,
it is more than a complimentary glass of wine...we probably had 2/3 each. Room
was very clean, no view though, hotel only has 6 floors nestled amongst other
high rises. Checkout was quick and easy. Too tired to check out live Jazz, will
come back specifically for this next time. Oh, check out the gym and hot
tub...very impressed, gym was small but adequate. Business Centre was just one
shared PC but reception, good enough...alot of galleries on site, will check
next time. I will definitely be back.
