We stayed at this hotel for one night, and it was wonderful.

We arrived at the hotel jet lagged and exhausted from our transcontinental flight, and a long immigration delay at the airport. The front desk informed us that we had been upgraded to the club level. A nice start.

We got to the room, and it was huge and modern, with lots of space, a decent view, and two big comfy beds. We also met the concierge, and had tea and snacks in the concierge lounge.

We went for a walk, and came back too tired to contemplate going to a restaurant. No problem! The snacks in the concierge lounge served as a light supper. In the morning, the breakfast in the lounge was much more than adequate, and we were able to make cheese sandwiches that filled us until we got to our ship.

Good location, comfortable room, friendly staff - what more can one ask for? The hotel definitely gets our top rating.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel.
The people at the front desk were amazing, will helpfully answer any questions and are very helpful with anything to do with tourism. They even will call places for you and do anything to help.

The hotel is conveniently located with a mall attached. There is a McDonalds, Tim Hortons, with some additional clothing stores and a Rexall where you can buy snacks and drinks.

It is within walking distance of many restaurants and a block from Robson St with amazing shopping. Its also walking distance to Stanley Park which is amazing. I hung out at the harbour most days.

The hotel rooms are very nice and exactly what I had expected. The lobby is a nice place to sit and hang out. The hotel bars and restaurants are excellent also.

There is a gym of decent size where they hand out head phones, towels and water.
There is an outdoor pool (only) with a hot tub. It would have been nice to have an indoor pool because we had a lot of rain, but i went out anyway.

I will stay here again.

Just returned from a 2 night getaway and have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. Beautiful, modern 31st floor room with a grat view of downtown buildings, cruise ship terminal, and the bay. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of there way for us, even bringing us up tooth paste and brush, (which I forgot). Recommed the spa which was great and just off the hotel. Also reccomend Yuck, Yuks comedy club 4-5 blocks up the road, they put on a great show and it was very reasonable. Will be back for sure!

Overall this was an average to good Hyatt. The staff was reasonably friendly and the location was good. I had a great view of the city on the 24th floor. The restaurant was nice as was the bar and I really appreciated the concierge (Lorri) who chose some great restaurants for me and my customers (be careful if you are on a tight budget - Vancouver restaurants can be quite expensive!). The workout room was adequate but the pool was dinky for a Hyatt.

My main complaint concerned phone service. The first night I asked the front desk to tell me the rate to call Texas and I was told that she had no idea and rates would vary based on location in the US. So I only made several very short (1 or 2 minute) calls to Texas. I was quite surprised at checkout that these calls cost me $12 to $15 per call. Could not the lady on the first night have told me that calls to the US could be quite expensive? Any why this exorbitant phone rate to the US? Were these calls really that expensive or was the hotel just charging this rate because they thought they could get away with it? Either way, don't use the phones for long distance unless you know just what you are paying.

Very impressive building. Our 25th floor room had great views of Downtown Vancouver. The hotel is very conveniently situated with easy access to the Sky Train, 'hop on and off' trolley and bus and all the downtown shops. The decor is new, modern and attractive with comfortable communal rooms like the Mosaic Bar.Our room was spacious, with attractive furnishings, huge comfortable bed and a very good bathroom. Extras included a flat screen television, fridge and mini bar. However, hated the cardboard cups with the coffee machine.Tacky! Breakfast was superb, but expensive. All the staff were very attentive, charming and very helpful-reception,concierge,room service, dining room and bar staff.Made to feel special.

Got a late deal on the hotel website for a king size room with a balcony on the 20th floor. The room was fabulous - spacious, good design, new decor, great bathroom and a superb balcony with views across to the mountains. As it was March we didn't experience any problems with excessive heat as in previous reviews. We had a meal in the restaurant which at first seemed like a typical hotel restaurant, nothing special. However, our meal was fantastic from start to finish and we must mention the wonderful waiter, Oscar who made us feel so welcome. Overall we were really impressed with this hotel and its location - 2 minutes walk one way to the waterfront and 2 minutes the other way to Robson Street, the main shopping area. Our only problem was that we didn't stay longer! (It was a one night stay on our way back from Whistler, we were flying home the next day)

I recently was in Vancouver on business and stayed at the Hyatt. I paid extra to upgrade to a room with a balcony - it cost $35 but was well worth it. It was really nice to be able to sit outside, read my book and look at the mountains.

My room (on the 17th floor) had obviously been recently redone - the bathroom, furniture and linens were all first rate.

As a previous poster had mentioned the cost of wireless seemed excessive.

I would consider staying here again. I had stayed at the Delta Suites during one of my last trips for about the same rate and I enjoyed the suite set up more, so would choose it if the prices were comparable. I can't imagine anyone being too disappointed with the Hyatt unless something out of the ordinary happens.

You would think this hotel has the potential to be great -- a central location in the heart of Vancouver's financial district, two blocks from the Robson shopping district and the Hyatt branding....but the hotel simply falls short.

On the plus side, it seems there was a remodel not too long ago, because the furniture was pretty plush and comfortable. The staff was unfailingly polite and responsive. Wireless internet was consistent throughout the property, though a little pricey at $14.50/day.

The biggest negative was a serious problem that, in all fairness, was advised to me before I checked in: rooms facing south on sunny days heat up to unbearable levels. I could tolerate this for this trip, since I was in meetings all day, but at 10pm at night it was still past 80 degrees F. After complaining twice, the building engineer left me a note suggesting I turn on the "fan" (which didn't do anything but recirculate the hot air) and/or open my door to let in the artic-cold hallway air. The engineer went on to say that the air conditioning gets "overwhelmed" on hot days, which I think is unacceptable. I heard others complaining about the same issue so I know I wasn't alone, I really think this is a top priority for Hyatt to correct.

The layout of the hotel is a little strange but not too untypical for a high-rise. The lobby is petit and the conference area pushes up a few floors, but the bigger issue is the elevators. There are five elevators that serve all floors, so the wait time is considerable -- especially during the morning rush. It seemed to us that at least 1-2 elevators were out during our entire stay.

I loved Vancouver and the location, but next time I'll try the Fairmont across the street.

We stayed at this hotel from Feb 14-19. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this is by far the best! The room was really nice and extremely clean. The staff were outstanding! The location is awesome, walking distance to many places. Overall I can't think of one bad thing to say about this hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

We recently spent a weekend at the Hyatt in Vancouver, and would definitely recommend it. Our stay was part of a last-minute pacakge deal through travelocity, so I don't know what the regular price is, but it was definitely worth more than we paid.
Our room seemed to have been recently renovated, and was very nice. The hotel had all the amenities you would expect of a Hyatt, though we didn't really have the time to check them out. The hotel is in a fabulous location, within walking distance of most places a visitor would want to see. And of course it doesn't hurt to be able to walk out of the hotel and see the water and the mountains right in front of you.
