After reading many reviews I decided to pick this hotel in N Vancouver this was my first trip to Vancouver and it was a good choice.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the parking lot had ample space and felt safe. The grounds are well-maintained and include several fountains and a gazebo; when I visited, the weather was cool and comfortable enough that you could simply sit in the gazebo and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There is an adjacent restaurant which has decent bar food and beer; and also an elegant lounge for sipping your choice of libation, whether it be tea, coffee, or wine. The staff was very helpful as well.

The only caveat with this hotel is its location. While it is very convenient for many of the attractions on the North Shore, it is a 20 min drive from downtown Vancouver. To cross south into Vancouver, you can choose to either drive on the Lions Gate Bridge/99/1A (which takes you through Stanley Park) or the route 1 bridge; the Lions Gate Bridge may leave you trapped in the traffic congestion of Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver, while the route 1 bridge leaves you to the east of downtown with some sketchy areas between you and downtown.

I would pick this hotel again if I had plans for activities outside of Vancouver, and maybe even if I had plans for activities that were mostly in downtown Vancouver. I could see myself staying in this hotel again for the peace of mind and also because this hotel was just darn nice.

I stayed in North Vancouver for a few weeks in June 2009 while working on a project. I have stayed in downtown Vancouver hotels in the past, but found this location much nicer and much better value for money. North Vancouver is a very beautiful setting surrounded by mountains and water. This property is immaculately designed and maintained. It fits in very well with North Van’s natural green spaces with waterfalls and gardens complementing the hotel’s environment. If you have a car, it is only a brief 15 minute drive to downtown or a little longer if you take the bus that stops every half hour right outside the hotel.

My standard unit came with a kitchenette and there is giant supermarket conveniently located across the street, making it handy to prepare a quick breakfast every morning. The restaurant also has a great breakfast buffet on weekends for only $10. There is also a neighbourhood pub and lounge that provide a nice relaxing venue for a drink with friends. The area is very quiet with great local hiking and other outdoor recreation opportunities all nearby. I like to keep fit when I am out-of-town and I found the pool, exercise room, and sauna top-notch. The giant jacuzzi is one of the largest I have ever seen in a hotel.

The rooms and lobby were immaculate and, even though the hotel is almost ten years old, it feels and looks like a brand new building. I had the pleasure to meet the hotel’s owner/manager and he runs a very efficient operation with an excellent team of employees that are highly committed to customer service. I stay in a lot of hotels for both government business and pleasure and I have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. I can always tell when a hotel is well-managed and, on that basis, I can strongly recommend North Vancouver's Seymour Holiday Inn.

After a long drive from Banff, it was nice to walk into a gorgeous and spacious lobby. Fortunately, the good things did not end there.

We had booked a room with 2 queens and a roll-a-way bed, along with a kitchen. The kitchen was much better than expected - a large fridge, pans, dishes, silverware, microwave, and a toaster (large enough to fit a bagel, hallelujah!). The room was spotless and the AC worked great (unlike many hotels we have stayed at...).

Our first night there we ate out at the restaurant in the hotel, which is a very convenient casual family diner with reasonable prices. We did have to wait a long time for our food, but it was decent quality. There is a bar next door which we did not enter.

The pool was a little on the small side and is quite narrow, but it was acceptable. There is also an excercise room right by the pool that seemed nice even though I did not enter it personally. Outside in the back there is a little courtyard for smokers complete with a gazebo.

The only negative about the place is that there is no continental breakfast (at least that we saw).

In all it was a great stay and in a good area. Even though it is not in the heart of Vancouver, it is a fairly easy drive into it and you don't have to deal with the safety issues of staying in a big city.

This is a gorgeous and wonderful hotel! Very large hotel that also seems to be a conference/wedding type hotel. The parking lot was packed and the hotel was packed, yet we never felt any crowding at all. They have a separate parking lot for guests only, so you don't have to fight for a spot with conference goers. Check in was fast and smooth. All staff were very polite. Our room had duvets on 2 queen beds, a large work desk, office chair, table/chairs and decent tv with pay movies. In room safe and umbrella that you can use during your stay was in the closet. Nice big fluffy towels. Very quiet hotel. It is right off the hiway and we faced the hiway, yet had no traffic noise at all.
There is a coffee shop and bar downstairs that has some basic muffins and scones as well. There is a pub restaurant on site and also a Pantry restaurant. Kids eat free at the pantry. The food was good. Nice cheap dinner since the kids ate free.
Indoor pool is not huge, but not tiny. We had a good swim and it was very warm! My daughter recognized a girl in the pool from a movie she saw a few months ago! She was staying there the night before filming with another child actor! So watch for movie stars here! Apparently there is a film studio just down the road, and they get quite a few stars here! The pool was nice and warm. Also there was a huge hot tub that could probably fit 10-12 people. Nice temperature.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel! Wonderful and don't hesitate to stay here!

After a long drive from Banff, it was nice to walk into a gorgeous and spacious lobby. Fortunately, the good things did not end there. This hotel would be great for young and old alike. A very good find.

Just spent in total 7 nights in this hotel and is was superb. I stay in Holiday Inns at least 50 nights a year and this rated as one of if not the best. The front office staff could not be more helpful, the rooms were spotless and the gym was fine. We did not eat in the restaurant as we went out most nights.

Located in North Vancouver, this hotel is easily accessed and reasonably priced as it is out of the city centre. As long as you have a car this hotel is great. Close to Capilano River, Stanley Park and Grouse Mt., this hotel provides a variety of services including standard rooms with microwave and small fridge. An on-site restaurant, pool, free internet access and airline check-in kiosk also make this a very traveler friendly spot. The best feature of this hotel is the friendly front desk staff. Dealing with them was quick, efficient and simple. About 15 minutes after reaching our room they called to check that everything was to our satisfaction.

Whenever visiting family in the North Vancouver area, we always stay at this hotel and recently spent 5 nights over Christmas. We have been staying here since it opened (about 2001). In addition to the convenient Hotel Location, we always enjoy the courtesy and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness, the ample free parking and the overall appearance of the property, which is more upscale than a typical Holiday Inn. Rooms are tastefully decorated and amenities include internet access, kitchenette with fridge and microwave, and large, openable windows.  The only thing that could be improved upon is that breakfast at the on-site restaurant should be included.
