Taxi to downtown area will cost about $13-15 (Canadian). The staff was friendly
and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the price for the room was
great! On the morning of our cruise, we checked out and the shuttle was right on
time to take us to the cruise ship terminal. Nice comfortable bed and a good
free breakfast.

Our friends from San Jose stayed here on their frigid trip north this winter.
The guy at the service desk was helpful and good humored, which was good because
we were all being really silly and having fun, our friends were intoxicated with
Jet Lag as they'd been up since 4:30 am.
The rooms are quite nice and beds comfortable and clean. They also offer a
continental breakfast. There is a bar downstairs called The Press Box. They have
a surprising menu. There's not much around here in walking distance so it's good
that this place is nice. As for coffee houses, the closest thing is a Starbucks,
at Kaslo street or a few more blocks to The Laughing Bean, at Slocan which is a
nice neighborhood place. This hotel is near the P.N.E grounds. If you head east
from here along Hastings, you can get to Cafe Artigiano in about 5 or 6 minutes
drive.
The hotel has secured parking as well.

For an inexpensive hotel stay, this is the place. During the day, this location
isn't bad at all. At night, it can appear shady. Not because there is an adults
only store across the street. The neighborhood doesn't seem like one of those
places you want to take a stroll around block in.
Unlike most Holiday Inn Expresses (HIN), this is not a standalone building.
There are storefronts next to or below the rooms and the building looks like it
was converted into a HIN. The room rate includes secured indoor parking
underground. The lobby is liberally updated with marble tiles and the included
breakfast had a decent selection.
Overall, the staff was friendly and prompt to resolve issues, parking is
included, close enough to downtown, decent breakfast spread and outdated rooms.

We stayed here 3 nights for a brief exploration of Vancouver and the surrounding
area. The hotel is just east of a bad neighborhood of Vancouver so you do not
want to be travelling west on Hastings by foot. However we took the bus, which
stops right out front of the hotel, to downtown during the day with no problems.
If you have a car the hotel is in a great location as it is close to the trans
Canada highway.
As for the hotel, it was clean and appeared safe with a night security guard
posted at the front lobby. Room keys were required to use the elevator but the
stairwells were open to anyone. The biggest downfall of the hotel would be the
noise from the street. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing Hastings and the
traffic all night was annoying. Our stay would have been better if we had a room
facing the mountains.
The hotel has a shuttle which we did not use as it was busy, hence us taking the
bus into downtown, but friends used it to get to the pier. Hot breakfast was
great.
Overall it was not a bad place to stay, it was just the traffic noise that was
the issue.

The deadbolt on the door between rooms was broken and the staff immediately
resolved the problem by transferring us to another room. The rooms are decent,
but not like any other HIE we recall. They had all the amenities of a HIE, but
the rooms were outdated.
Overall, the staff was friendly and prompt to resolve issues, parking is

The hotel is 10/15 minutes from downtown in a strategic position to reach in
short time all the main Vancouver's attractions. The location is a not the best
of the town but the hotel and the garage are safe (the garage is gated) so using
the car is the best choice. In the day time it's comfortable to reach downtown
by bus (the stop is in front of the hotel) or driving (following the Hastings St
you arrive in downtown in minutes). The Hotel is clean and the complementary
breakfast makes a difference. For sure I'll go back again in the future.

This hotel turned out to be much better than anticipated . The location is right
across the street from the Pacific National Exposition park and two blocks from
the Coliseum, perfect if you're going there.
Chinese restaurant across the street was quite good, lot of food for the price
and a few other restaurants also nearby, plus Italian bakery across street and
Burger King beside hotel.
There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but it is a 15 minute trip
downtown, and 30 minutes to the airport but hotel picked us up and took us back
to airport for free. Also gave us ride downtown and back for free. Many other
people said they got free shuttle from hotel when they asked.
Our room was clean and comfortable, nice TV with many channels, free wireless
internet, big comfortable beds, lots of pillows, plenty of towels, nice hot
shower, and all kinds of free shampoos and lotions. You can get a free
mini-fridge in your room but they only have a limited number and they were all
gone when we arrived.
Free breakfast was extensive and included usual baked goods, fruit, yogurt,
juices, cereal, etc. plus four hot items - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage
patties, and cheese omelets. Menu said there would be two each day but there
were all four hot items every day we were there for a week. Room seats about 50
but whenever hotel was full, staff added tables in an adjoining area and we
never had any trouble getting a seat.
Hotel staff was very helpful whenever we made any request, let us print airline
boarding passes in their office, gave directions when needed, booked taxis
quickly, etc. Better service than I've had in a lot of 5-star hotels.

We booked a double-double room. Our room was a good price, fairly modern, clean
and a good size. The hallway areas were "tired" looking. The foyer was clean and
comfortable.
The breakfast was free, which was a good job, as I wouldn't have wanted to pay
for it.....paper and plastic plates / cutlery. The breakfast area was far too
small and overcrowded and hot food that had run out was not replenished very
quickly.
We were on floor 3, at the side of the building - facing Burger King and we
didn't find it to be noisy.
The staff were OK: friendly but not all that efficient but in fairness there
appeared to be no back up for the one person on the front desk, which meant a
long wait on several occasions.
The free Shuttle to the airport was excellent.
