I stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it. The check-in was fast and polite, the
room was very comfortable and the bed awesome and liked the pool has it was
clean, and pretty nice for the hotel. The staff are nice and helpful. There is a
taxi stand right outside the hotel and there is always at least one waiting. I
went to an Italian place about a block east of the hotel on Broadway called
Favouritos based on a recommendation from the front desk (It was amazing! pretty
reasonable prices as well) and ate breakfast at the Denny's about 6 blocks to
the west of the hotel on Broadway.

I wouldn't have found Canadian dollars 90 so valuable in hotel accommodation in
the western cities. An excellent location if you want quiet, peaceful and well
appointed neighborhood while the hustle and bustle vibrant city stampede is only
across the bridge, within your sight. I stayed on the 12th floor, with a partial
view of the sparkling city line, but that is enough. The walk to Granville
Island in the mornings has never been so memorable: terraced town houses, each
with a unique design, with rows of cherry blossoms providing shrouds. The area
is lightly illuminated by the rising sun , a scene rare in city, but it is yours
if you wake up earlier to take a stroll, joining the hurrying local.
The hotel may need a renovation, but everything essential is well maintained:
splashing shower tap, armchair, and toilet. The room plus the washroom is very
tidy and clean. Lobby is small, but not crowded, and not messy and noisy,
representing the civilized quality of the hotel staff and guests. The front desk
provides prompt and reliable service when asked to check flight schedule and
messages.
If any improvement is to be implemented, I would suggest: a bigger TV screen and
a slightly harder mattress. No glamorous decor needed, save whitewash and
plastering, since this hotel serves real travellers: backpackers, stopovers,
Canadians, family holiday-makers, seniors but not business men. We want a home
away from home, and I believe the homes of most guests here don't own a palace.
Try the small shop serving chowder soup and sandwich. It is just a 5 minute walk
across the street to the right of the hotel. Best buy, best soup, best service
ever. I went there every afternoon in my three days' stay.

Hotel is a classic Holiday Inn, meaning it needs upgrading which I
understand it will be getting before the 2010 Olympics. Great for Medical stay ~
comfort and convenient! A hot tub would be nice. But, rate was great, staff was
friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean. Heater unit was noisy. Good transit
connections to get around the city, and lots to do within walking distance.

Very friendly service with clean, comfortable & quiet rooms. Breakfast at the
restaurant was good with speedy service. Baggage storage available and you can
use print your airline boarding pass for free on the computers in the lobby.
Would definitely stay again.

Me and my family stayed at the hotel and it was a very nice stay. The hotel is
really close to downtown and Granville Island. If you want to bus around
Vancouver there are bus stations right at the hotel.
If you want to go shopping the closest mall is Pacific Center, which was a very
good mall. The front desk was very courteous and helped us out a lot when we
needed it. The neighborhood feels very safe. The rooms are really comfortable.
There is no wireless, which would have been great, but there is high speed. The
hotel is a little bit old but it was a very nice hotel. I enjoyed it.

The executive suite was not very big. Apparently though, paying $20 extra a
night doesn’t get you a bigger room it gets you a pair of slippers, the use of a
bath robe and getting to be on the 'seventh floor' which apparently is a 'big
deal' because the word executive is written next to the elevator button..
The regular rate room that we stayed in after switching half way though was
bigger and had a full sofa rather then a chair that we got in the 'executive
suite'
There is a pool but it’s was not very warm, Over all not a bad stay but go with
a regular room..
