This is pretty much like any other best Western. It's clean, simple with nothing special. What makes this hotel awesome is the location. It is an easy walk to a lot of really cool bars and nightclubs. The Best Western Chateau Granville is situated close to downtown attractions. Excellent service. The Rendez-Vous Restaurant is quite nice, also. Good rates.

The Best Western Chateau Granville hotel is located in the part of downtown full of nightclubs, bars, and restaurants. Not once did I not feel safe walking down the street. The hotel itself is very nice. The suite that I had was very clean and well appointed. Nice view of Granville Street Entertainment District from my balcony on the 11th floor too. I will definitely be back to Vancouver again soon and will be staying at the Chateau Granville.

Yes, Granville street right around the Chateau Granville hotel , but it is an easy walk to everywhere and the rooms are very nice. We always stay here when we visit Vancouver because we can get a nice 2-room suite for under CAD$100 and when travelling with a baby it is really really nice to be able to put him in another room at night.

The Best Western Chateau Granville hotel is an older hotel. However, the rooms were clean and had all the basic necessities. The onsite restaurant had great breakfast with overly generous portions at reasonable prices. Front desk staff were very helpful and efficient. The neighborhood is slightly sketchy but very conveniently located within quick walking distance to trendy Yaletown. Only complaint was that the room did not get warm enough and the heating system was very loud. Recommend this as an economical hotel for travelers who just want a clean and convenient place to crash at the end of the day. Not suitable for a romantic getaway.

Originally booked hotel online but called a week before to see if it was pet friendly. For 25.00 extra we got a pet friendly room and an upgrade to a suite. Extremely conveniently located downtown and very affordable. Would definitely book again!

There’s really nothing "chateau" about this place but it was serviceable. The staff was friendly enough, but the room could do with some updating, as could the hotel overall (fresh coat of paint, updated furniture, etc.). We stayed here because it offered a room that had 2 double beds with a sofa bed, which allowed for 3 people to each have their own sleeping space... but the sofa bed was really quite horrible. Lumpy, crooked, sagging - it was better to fold it back up and just sleep on the sofa. The free internet connection came in handy and the overnight parking rate wasn’t as expensive as some others. The location wasn’t bad, but there was some construction going on outside (winter of 2009), which made entry in/out of the hotel a little annoying. Our stay was ok, but all things considered, I’d try somewhere else next time I’m in town.

I love Vancouver and I will stay at this Hotel again, But only in the Main or Hotel Tower. It is very convenient to shopping and the new rail train from the airport, my friends were only blocks away and my favorite restaurants were real close. If u book here, stay away from the court yard rooms, it is not attached to the main hotel and its very depressing with no view and dull. Definitely have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, Front desk gave coupons and it was very good*****5stars

Take the rail train from the airport, it’s cheap and very easy 3.75 or a taxi for 30.00dollars

The name, "Chateau Granville," may give you the impression that you are staying at a luxury five-star hotel. Nope. This is a typical Best Western economy hotel. The location and service during my visit was adequate and the adjoining restaurant, "The Edge," offered a tasty dinner. My biggest complaint was being assigned to the "courtyard" building. To get into the building, you have to leave the lobby, cross a scary, poorly lit alley and then open a security door into the courtyard. Ugh. If you get mugged in the ally, at least you are only steps from your room. Secondly, my room had a strange emergency exit door that was situated about two feet off of the floor and opened onto an enclosed fire escape. Weird.

This hotel was in a good location. Didn’t like the room in the back of the courtyard. Just like a dungeon and smelled musty. The front room with large windows was much better. Would be better if the courtyard was connected to the main lobby by some sort of tunnel. Staff were very helpful. Would be more specific about room location next time. Would certainly consider staying there again.

By all means take the Skytrain from the airport to downtown. It only takes 25 minutes. The subway stations are very clean and staff are very helpful.

This hotel offers two options: bigger rooms in the high rise, or smaller rooms located in a nearby area called the '"courtyard." To enter the courtyard, you must walk across an alley and pass through a heavy, solid, steel door that resembles an entry to Cellblock "C". Surprise! There is a courtyard, and the rooms there are small but impeccably clean and nicely decorated. Courtyard room rates are a bargain considering you're in downtown Vancouver. But this area of Vancouver on Granville is a bit on the seedy side. If porn shops rub you the wrong way, this isn't the area for you. Less important, however, is this tidbit. Despite our cheerful hello, the middle-aged man who worked the front desk that rainy evening was aloof, avoided eye contact and spoke to us in curt, one word responses. If front desk staff can't be cordial or polite, at least be civil - or get out of the hospitality business.
