Have stayed here often in the "tower", but this time I stayed in the annex
called the "Courtyard", 30 seconds walk across the back alley. It was clean, the
room large, everything worked including WiFi and the price was great! And I
found it to be very quiet, sometimes in the tower Granville street can be noisy
at night. Perfectly adequate for a stay, service excellent in a perfect place to
explore from. Buy a transit pass for $9 a day and go exploring on skytrain, bus
and seabus! Numerous bars, restaurants within walking distance and the Bar/
restaurant there is good too.

My daughter and I stayed for two weeks while my mom was in St. Paul's hospital.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. Rooms were
spacious, comfortable and clean. Excellent location in the downtown core. Easy
walk to shopping, restaurants, clubs. Convenient underground parking. Free wifi,
computers and printer. Restaurant on site. Rooms include mini-fridge, microwave,
coffee maker, tv, cable, phone.

King size bedroom as well as the king size bed! Lots of room. Living room with
sofa, chair, table for use as a desk or a meal, microwave, small fridge, great
views of the city particularly at night. Our room is always cleaned and ready as
soon as we've gone for breakfast. If you have occasion to be an outpatient at
St. Paul's Hospital, the staff will do your room sooner than you need it. Very
comfortable sleep. Older style hotel but ever so easy to do the City thing. I
think we've stayed in this hotel perhaps 5 times this year. There is an
adjoining restaurant with a menu to suit anyone and very friendly staff. The
bell hops are the tops!

I was born and raised in Vancouver and lived there for about 38 years. I finally
moved up north about 15 years ago. I travel back down 3 or 4 times a year to
shop or go to concerts ect... When we go we always stay at the Chateau
Granville. I really like that we always get a suite, not just a room. Makes it
easier to watch TV ect... without waking my husband. Its always clean and as
they get to know you, they treat you like returning family. The food is actually
quite good in the hotel as well. Make sure you ask for a free gym pass, if
you're so inclined. Its about a block away, and is state of the art.
The best thing is the location. Smack, dab in the middle of downtown and walking
distance to theaters, shopping, the dome for football or hockey games. The
casino is within walking distance as well. Walk along Granville street and get
on the Skytrain to Metrotown shopping center, or hang a left down Robson for
more upscale shopping.
The people watching from your balcony or out on the street is very diverse.
Granville street used to be a rough area and still has a few little glitches,
but has basically been revamped into the hot place for clubbing , shopping ect...
Although you still see the odd homeless soul or drug deal going down, its
actually very safe for a stroll.
The cost for a suite is actually very reasonable and all in all a great place to
stay.

I've stayed here a handful over times over the last few years, and it's the same
every time (which isn't a bad thing). Sometimes it's nice knowing what to
expect. The rooms with balconies, overlooking Granville street are very nice,
but they are a bit more expensive than the courtyard rooms. During this last
trip we stayed in the courtyard and saved about $40.
The courtyard rooms are quiet, and convenient. They seem a bit older than the
rooms in the tower, but still decent.
Parking is about $15 a day, and the parking garage can fill up quickly on a
weekend, so get there early and grab a spot!

The room was a bit old , the toilet older, but overall a good hotel. I stayed in
the courtyard rooms, which are behind the hotel, but in a very quiet place.

i stay here quite a bit and the main thing that brings me back is the one
bedroom suite with the balcony that overlooks Granville street!
there's so much room in here it doesn't feel like a hotel!
& there's a microwave & fridge so it helps make it feel that more comfortable!

We always stay here when we go to Vancouver. I was in town for a concert at
Rogers Arena. The Staff was very helpful. The renovated bar/restaurant was very
nice. Only down side I was across from a construction site and it was noisy
early in the morning. |
