The Carmana Plaza is a home away from home. Clean, modern self contained
accommodation in downtown Vancouver. Simple, clean-lined, Ikea inspired décor.
Beds are comfortable, the kitchenettes sufficient, stocked with enough cooking
equipment for breakfast and dinner (if you really want to cook) with so many
great restaurants at your door step. The staff are always available and friendly
and we love the small touches like free seamless internet and umbrellas (always
necessary for Vancouver). The laundry on the 3rd floor works well – but it was a
pity laundrettes were not originally incorporated into the rooms – given the
ample space. The views toward the harbour are typical, spectacular Vancouver. .
Overall if you do not want the frills of a full service hotel, yet the freedom
of a daily serviced apartment in a great downtown location then the Carmana is a
great Vancouver choice.

We booked a two bedroom two bathroom apartment for our two night stay in August.
We were travelling with another couple to Vancouver so we decided this was the
best way to go.
Lovely clean apartment - nicely laid out. The couch was a bit worn and had a
hole in one of the cushions but other than that perfect. Nice little kitchenette
so we could make our own breakfast - a great thing after a month of living in
hotels ! Great location - just a block down from Robson Street and a
seven-eleven just down the road - great for picking up snacks.
The front desk were very efficient and friendly on all of our dealings from
check in, tours and check out.
They have a laundry which takes tokens bought from the front desk - another plus
for us after all of our travels - not having to find a Laundromat !
Internet is available for a daily fee - a bit of a let down after almost every
other hotel offered free service. But at least it worked !
Would definitely stay there again if we travel to Vancouver and have no doubts
in recommending it.
I notice an earlier review stating one key between four people. We asked for a
second key and got it straight away - with no problems. This gave each couple a
key so we could do our own things.

The Carmana Plaza Hotel is very underrated, and wrongly so!! This is a fantastic
hotel to stay in and excellent value for money!! My partner and I looked at
pratically all the available hotels in Vancouver, and decided on this one, and
what a choice!!!
The location in Vancouver is excellent - only a 5 minute walk from Robson Street
(which is the main shopping street in Vancouver). It has a seven eleven a 2
minute walk away and a Wendy's and Tim Horton's practically at the doorstep. The
hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel room itself is huge! It's
more like a one bedroom apartment. It has a separate bedroom, separate living
and dining area, separate kitchen (with oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher) and
a separate bathroom.
In my opinion, the hotel is not rated high enough and it is an excellent price.
You would not get the same standard and facilities in a room anywhere else in
Vancouver for the same money.
I want to go back to Vancouver as I had a fantastic time, and I would definitely
stay again at the Carmana Plaza, and would highly recommend it as a place to
stay.

I have stayed at the Carmana Plaza for the last three years when I travel with
my family. Since this is an all suite hotel, this is probably the best feature
if you are staying longer than 2-3 days. You have a nice kitchen (very handy to
avoid the expensive Vancouver downtown food), clean rooms and a very nice
location close to anything and everything in Vancouver.
Staff at the Carmana Plaza Hotel has always been very helpful and, at least on
my case, my rate included parking (that tend to be very pricey in any downtown
area).
Last, but not least, the rates are very competitive. You can have a two bedroom
suite in high season (summer) for 200 CAD. That's the same, and even less, you
will pay for a standard room in any other downtown location (Marriott, Hyatt,
Fairmont).
