Guest Review of the Ramada Hotel & Suites Metrotown

The hotel was in the middle of a refurb to brighten up the exterior and lobby area. Room was comfortable and quiet and air-con a welcome addition.
Adjoining pub was a bit downmarket but the food was very good value for money. You really need a car to use the hotel as a base for exploring the city - its quiet a walk to the Skytrain.

The hotel is not expensive and only 10min from skyline. The staff is friendly and the room was old but clean. The major problems are as follows: It is not in a nice neighborhood and far from downtown. The local restaurants are nothing special and the Indian place next door simply horrible. The walls are so thin that you can hear people breathing next door. The doors don't close unless you slam them so you are guaranteed to be woken up 10 times at night as people go in and out of their rooms. The internet drops you off every 5 mintues. The elevator has been broken for the past 6 weeks and they don't know when it is coming back up; so, be prepared to haul your luggage to the third floor. And lastly, there is no real gym, it is a very small hotel room that they have three half-broken machines in. I would never stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a group in Vancouver for a hockey tournament. The pool was empty, the elevator was broken and the staff were very snotty. The kids had nothing to do so they ended up in the parking lot with the used needles from the patrons of the "retro" bar. The rooms are small and the beds tiny. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Even the food from the restaurant was terrible.

Nothing too special, but I was worried after reading some of the negative feedback here. This place was a great bang for your buck. Close to the Skylink, 10-15 minutes to downtown, etc.

I am a frequenter to Vancouver and I will definitely stay here again. The pool was COLD, though...LOL.

Aside from the fact that the hotel was relatively inexpensive and convenient to where I had to be on town, my stay was terrible. I stayed in room 213. The room was small, cold, too much noise heard from outside and other rooms, leaky faucet in the bathroom, electrical outlets that did not work, and extremely unclean! It made me sick watching housekeeping attempting to clean my room. I mean is it common practice for pillows with clean pillow cases on them to be layed on the disgusting dirty and smelly floor as the bed is being made, and may I ad being made as in the sheets never being changed. How about after your bathroom is cleaned ie: toilet, tub, floor, etc, the housekeeper uses there same dirty and disgusting hands to give you fresh towels... Well at least I hope they were fresh. They never once vacuumed the room even though they had it waiting on there cart ready to use. I could honestly write my name in the dust on basically any piece of furniture in the room. This was just disgusting and very unclean. To top it off I'm still waiting for the Ramada to address any of my issues which I suppose they have chosen to ignore. I guess customer service and a sanitary enviroment just isn't in there company's business plans...
