These Vancouver Hotel reviews are the subjective opinion of a Guest and not of Allure Hotels any

After reading past reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to book a short stay for
some business at the Best Western Uptown. We were in town for a short time,
rented a car and were not going to spend much time in the hotel. There were some
minor complaints, such as the bed and pillows not being too comfortable, but
what really irritated me was that our toilet overflowed and instead of an
employee helping with the problem, a front desk employee came to our room and
handed us a plunger for us to fix ourselves. The continental breakfast was
plentiful, parking is free and the front desk staff was helpful when we decided
to cut our stay a day short. If you are looking for an inexpensive room and have
a rental car to get you around town ( motel is too far to walk to Robson St or
any other tourist area) then you might want to check out the Best Western
Uptown. For our next stay in Vancouver, we'll find another property.

Having lived in Van for year and coming back to see friends & family, this time
I wanted a hotel out with downtown where there was handy transport links as I
had no car.
This hotel is ideal for that being on a main street with plenty bus options and
also15 mins walk to the Pacific bus station and sky train.
Even though the hotel faces a busy road that sees traffic all night, my room
that faced this road was relatively quiet thanks to the double glazing. Those
that might see this as an issue should request a room away from the roadside and
also the gym!
The staff were very friendly, rooms basic and clean, with the breakfast being a
simple continental affair that was just fine for me. I would say this hotel is
one of the better BW hotels I’ve stayed in.
For those first time visitors to Van that want to be a touching distance of the
best of what Van has to offer, I would not recommend this hotel as there is not
much around the area for tourists and really a car is needed. I would try my
hand at a hotel off Robson and try stay away from Granville as it can be seedy
at night.
Overall the hotel was good for my type of trip offering a clean and friendly
place to stay with tplenty ransport links for a past local.

We stayed at the Best Western Uptown over the May long Weekend.
I made reservations by telephone 4-6 weeks before arriving, however, upon
arriving discovered that we had no room. The staff had no record of our
reservation and when I provided the confirmation number the claimed it didn't
exist.
We were eventually given a room, but not the what we had originally reqested.
The underground parking, although secure, is very small. Good luck if you drive
a SUV, truck or larger vehicle .
I've stayed a Best Western Hotels before and I'm usually a fan, but I'll
definitely think twice before staying at one again, and when I'm in Vancouver
again I will stay somewhere else.

I stayed for 5 nights, beginning Jan. 31. I found the hotel to be clean and
quiet. I don't drive, but transit buses go by the front door every few minutes
and it's very easy to get downtown. The staff were very helpful and friendly,
without exception. Right next door to the hotel is a shopping mall with a liquor
store, a drugstore, a supermarket and many other amenities (including a public
library with transit maps). Very convenient Hotel Location.
Close by is Broadway, with east-west transit making shopping easy. Three very
decent secondhand bookstores within a stone's throw and more coffeeshops than
you can imagine in the Main Street / Broadway area.
The hotel's free continental breakfast, from 7-10 am, was more than enough food.
Cereals, bagels, croissants, breads, several kinds of fruit, hard-boiled eggs,
yogurt and hot beverages every morning. I usually took mine back to my room but
there was some seating in the breakfast room.
Next door is the Salt and Pepper Grill, a great place for a lazy brunch or a
steak sandwich. Good service and reasonable prices.
The bathroom was very clean and the chambermaid service good. My room faced the
busy street, but the double-glazed windows blocked 99% of the street noise. The
in-room air conditioner and heater worked well.
I would definitely stay again, and plan to this summer.

Clean and tidy hotel. The room we had was nice, nothing stuuning, just adequate
for a 3 day stay. Good beds and quiet Hotel Location. Breakfast was only average, but
it kept us going till lunch. Staff were helpful.

I read good reviews of this hotel here on TripAdvisor and I have to say they
were all correct! The staff was so nice & helpful, and our room was very
spacious, quiet and CLEAN. The hotel is walking distance (about 10 minutes) to a
very busy area with shops, restaurants, etc., but the free parking is definitely
a huge selling point. My only comment would be that if you are staying here and
using the parking lot: bring a small car! The parking lot is quite small and
somewhat difficult to negotiate, so I think that would be very difficult with a
large SUV.
