The Best Western Sands Vancouver hotel was just fine for our hospital
trip: clean, fabulous location near the sea wall walks where we walked
on English Bay
Vancouver down to Second Beach in
Stanley Park and to the
Lagoon. It's just off Denman where there are lots of places to eat. We
traveled with the dog, so were glad of friendly and helpful staff. Also,
we were able to order in from Checkers
Bar & Grill next door where the hotel had given us several two for one
certificates. The chowder was outstanding, even better than the one I
make! Desserts were generous and the apple crumble was very good
especially.

I reviewed the Best Western Sands Vancouver about a year and a half ago
and gave it average marks. We saw a noticeable difference from our last
stay as the rooms have been nicely renovated. The rooms are now nicely
appointed (and are fairly spacious). The bathroom was small but
sufficient. Our room faced the alley once again but given that it was
winter we had the door shut so noise wasn't an issue. The television was
standard and not an upgraded flat screen that many hotels are offering.
The Sands Vancouver hotel location is great, right near the intersection
of Davie & Denman and close to many restaurants & bars and steps away
from the waterfront and Stanley Park. There is also a fun bar in the
lobby. There is a fitness room but I have never taken a look. Parking is
available in an adjacent lot for $10 per day. Check in was quick and
efficient. Elevators are secure as a card key is required to use them.
Overall we had a great stay at the Sands and would definitely stay here
again.

We arrived late in the evening and the staff were quick and friendly
with arranging a room for us.
Best Western Sands was a great place to stay - easy to find, great
staff, great rooms and awesome breakfast. I would certainly send my team
there again the next time we are in Vancouver. I always trust Best
Western and this hotel is certainly up to par. Well done BW Sands!

I stayed here with my wife for a little Christmas getaway. It was great.
The location and the price can't be beat, it's close to shopping,
restaurants and Stanley Park. There is a liquor store just a block away
as well as a London Drugs store. The hotel has a restaurant, a bar and a
lounge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The food is great. The fitness
room looks like it has just been remodeled since it has a brand new
treadmill and stair climber each with a built in TV. There is also a
sauna and a universal gym. There is a neat 7 foot tall RCMP bull-moose
in the lobby. And they are re-modeling the entire lobby. I've stayed
here before and will be back again.

We were delighted with this hotel! The staff were friendly, cheerful and very
helpful. The location was great - close to Stanley Park and the beach. My
husband's in a wheelchair so the walk along the seawall was a real plus. We were
based at the hotel for 4 weeks in their adapted disabled room. The maids looked
after us very well. We loved eating in the Checkers Bar where the menu was
varied and the food excellent. The Bar staff were always cheerful and ready to
chat. The Reception staff were very helpful with directions and bookings. We
would really recommend this wonderful hotel!

I have been staying at this hotel for almost 3 years, and I am very impressed
with the quality of service provided by the front desk staff.
Jeff is very knowledgeable about city information, when I asked him for
directions/bus info, he had the answers to everything without searching for it.
Eddy, has always been very friendly and helpful.
and other staff at the desk too, they always go extra and extra miles to make my
stay very enjoyable.
Also the location is perfect, 30 seconds to the beach, around the hotel there
are so many restaurants to choose from, so many stores for sweets, and 5 min
away from Robson St too. My review might sound too perfect, but really, I never
had a single complaint about this hotel... oh, not all the rooms have fridge,
but that's about it. and again, the best thing about this hotel is wonderful
staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family,
which most of them always stay there anyway.

Good location. Near Sunset Beach, Stanley Park and good restaurants. Friendly
staff. Ask a question or directions and they had the answer. We had a room in
the back (not street side). It was very quiet. If you have a car, there is an
extra $10 a day parking fee. I selected Best Western Sands primarily because I
had gift cards that I got when I redeemed air miles. BW was in my price range
and the location was by English Bay, one of my favorite places. I wanted a room
that was clean, had free wireless internet, a hair dryer and reasonable paid
parking. I got all that I wanted and then some. The room was nice, a bit dated
but very clean. The wireless internet was super quick and I had a hair dryer. As
well, the room came equipped with an ironing board and iron, an umbrella, and a
coffee maker. The coffee was from Blenz and was delicious. I was also lucky
enough to have a mountain view and woke up to a beautiful sight every day. The
area of the hotel is fantastic, I used the bus daily and Stanley Park/English
Bay were right across the street. There were some really good restaurants in the
area as well, so I had everything at my fingertips. Parking was $9.99 a night
which was really reasonable. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.
