We booked a one night stay here the day before driving up to Vancouver
from Seattle. It was our first trip and we really didn't know where was
best to saty in terms of sightseeing and getting around. We only paid
around £60.00 including breakfast and free parking which was a bonus. We
were greeted by a friendly receptionist who allowed us to check in early
at no extra charge. There was some confusion as to the parking being
free but she eventually agreed it was and remarked no-one had noted it
on the booking. The manager came over and introduced him self personally
to us, even gave us his business card as he had overheard the confusion
regarding the parking. He was so friendly and nice asking about England
etc.. it was nice but a bit OTT really. The room was great, far better
than I had expected views up into the city centre (away from the bridge
which the hotel is just over - on the left hand side making it a doddle
to find). The curtains were really good black out ones, the bathroom was
neat and tidy with everything clean and well presented. We had a tea
tray, ice bucket, great sized TV, everything you could want and more
really for our purpose - I didn't take my first trip to Canada to sit in
a hotel room! You can walk to pretty much everything in the downtown
area if you don't mind walking which didn't - 30-40 up to gastown and
china town (with lots to see on the way I hasten to add).
Breakfast the next morning was great and you got a real plate full! It
was the hot breakfast option included not the full breakfast but it was
plenty for us choice of Juice OR hot drink and then a huge plate of
bacon, egg, sausage etc...
We did book the shuttle bus they promote in the morning to take us up to
the top end of town for the day which all went a bit wrong really - I
can't remember the exact times but we booked it and then they called the
room 15 minutes early and said we would have to go then or in an hour
because the driver was waiting - they do not operate the shuttle so have
little control over it really, we weren't ready to check out so had to
pass on the shuttle and walk into town - not the end of the world but a
little disappointing as they made a thing about the fact you could only
book certain times in advance which we did!
They did allow us to keep the car in the garage all day at no extra
charge whilst we went sightseeing till tea time which was nice of them.
They also have a rooftop garden which was good for a few pictures and
imagine is nice in summer when it's a bit warmer! The gym was up there
too and it looked fine enough to me for a small hotel. All in all we
found it a great place to stay in Vancouver and I would not really
hesitate to stay there again next time I visited

This is an excellent hotel located in
Downtown Vancouver,
which has friendly and helpful staff. We stayed there for one night
after staying at the
Hyatt Regency Hotel. First of all, the room was less expensive than
the Hyatt, and it contained furnishings that were comparable to the
Hyatt’s. In fact, the LCD TV was bigger than the Hyatt’s. Second, the
Best Western offers 2 free bottled waters (compared to $5 at the Hyatt),
free local calls and free wi fi internet. There is also a laundry room
on site, which is convenient. The towels and toiletries were plentiful,
and of good quality. This location also offers a free shuttle service to
any destination within 5 miles. This hotel was a refreshing change to
the Hyatt, which seems to charge for everything. I would recommend
staying here anytime, a look forward to returning on my next trip to
Vancouver.

We have stayed at the hotel in the past. We are satisfied with the
location. The hotel is in a safe location. Check in was quick and
courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was central to
shopping restaurants and nightlife.

This hotel was very clean and the people were very friendly and
courteous. The room was very quiet as opposed to many other Vancouver
hotels in regards to the street noise. I will go back anytime.
Excellent location, view from the balcony is great n definitely worthy
of consideration. Internet is on and off though but i’l still b back
next time. Stayed 3 nights, i’l def b back.

Typical Best Western with a little more comfort. The room was clean and
comfortable (a little on the small side) but the bed was outstanding.
Great decor in the room and a huge triple-sheeted bed...for people who
dislike hotel bedding...this will put you at ease. Lovely sheets, clean
and extremely comfortable.
The location is great, right downtown and within walking distance to
public transit (which I suggest taking. It's nice not having to be in
traffic and pay for parking all day!)...also being on
Granville Street,
it's the perfect location for shopping and going out at night.
The fitness room and hot tub are up on the Pent House level and offer a
great view.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
The only drawback that it has is there are no balconies...which is a
shame when its a beautiful night and you have to go upstairs to sit on
the common patio.
I would definitely stay here again.

First time visit to Vancouver.. Had an amazing time exploring downtown..
Couldn't have gotten a better deal at the Best ... Western downtown.. Hotel is
very very nice for the price! Very convenient location! We found our room to be
very nice! Only down side is no breakfast, however the restaurant attached has
great food!

A solid place to stay for the star rating it is given. The rooms were clean,
with conveniences such as a fridge and microwave provided. The building is kept
well and the penthouse floor not only provides a gym, sauna and whirlpool, but
also has a fabulous terrace where you get beautiful views of Downtown

Honestly, I normally can't be bothered to write reviews for hotels I stay at
even though I read them all the time when choosing hotels. However, I've been
really impressed with the BW Downtown. In terms of facilities it's nothing
special, but my room and the public areas are spotless, the bed's great, the
location's fine (with useful amenities such as supermarket and takeout places
right next door), the free wifi and lobby internet facility (with printing) are
a great added bonus, the included breakfast's fine (yogurts, good selection of
pastries/cakes, toast, fruit etc. - not the nicest breakfast room in the world,
but functional), and the rate was good value. But the best thing I've found here
is the service: everyone's been friendly and really helpful even though I've had
quite a few requests including a room move (I don't like being near the ice
machine as I know they can be noisy). So if you're looking for a quality,
mid-priced hotel I would definitely recommend this place.

Good location, only about 3 blocks into the downtown streets. Was very easy to
find coming from off the highway. Stay was good for what i expected with a few
exceptions.
When we first arrived, we went to check in and the man at reception was very
un-welcoming, made me very uncomfortable. After checking us in, with the bar
minimum effort we parked the car and headed up to our room, walked in the room,
and was blasted with the smell of smoke. It was quite strong and i wanted to
change rooms, but felt reluctant to call reception and bother them after a
not-so-nice check in. Eventually did, and was asked to come back down to
reception to get our new room key. After heading down and picked up or new key,
it almost felt like the gentleman (same one that checked us in) didnt believe
us, and pointed out that it couldnt smell like smoke as it was a non-smoking
hotel, well someone obviously broke that rule! After going into a new room,
everything was perfect. Headed out that evening, and when returned was greeted
by a different gentleman at reception that was extremely kind and full of
smiles. Check out was a breeze. The hotel was nice, but due to my un-welcome
welcoming would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here at the Best Western Downtown Vancouver for 2 nights - one each
end of our trip - and found it to be a good location for downtown without the
high price of being in Robson Street or on the waterfront.
We were able to walk to Davie Street, where there is a good selection of
restaurants, and the seawall which is a beautiful strolling area.
Our first room had a kitchen area the second didn't, but both were a good size,
clean and quiet despite the hotel being situated on a busy corner.
We had a problem with the door key on our second stay. It wouldn't open the door
and was re-keyed three times before it worked, but the Best Western staff were
very helpful. Parking is $10 per day, but it is underground and reasonably
secure.
We had two breakfasts and one evening meal in the restaurant and found it good
and a reasonable price.
