Really - from top to bottom, excellent property - rooms are modern, clean, very
comfortable. Location is pretty good for getting anywhere on Granville Island
easily. Only issue: major construction going on to the east and west of the
hotel. We were greeted promptly at 7:30 AM by a couple of backhoes and dump
trucks outside our window.
I will say this BW is quieter and cleaner than the Chateau Granville a couple of
blocks down the road and the construction is likely not going on at night or on
weekends. The CG has single pane windows that do not keep out much noise.
All-in-all, if you're looking for a great, inexpensive place to stay a few
nights, I would highly recommend this location.

I stayed for 2 nights in Oct 2011. I requested an early check-in of around 9 am
after a 15 hour flight from Sydney, Australia. They did their best and I was in
the room by 10:30 am. The room was clean and quiet. The location was excellent -
an easy walk to downtown & the main attractions in Vancouver. The staff were
very helpful - with advice of how to get to Granville Island, re-charging
electronic devices (I didn't have a laptop & required a USB connection) and how
to save on long distance phone calls. Breakfast in the restaurant was fine - no
need to go elsewhere if there for a short stay. I would return.

In 2003 we stayed at this BW in the Penthouse suite, I put a review on trip
advisor at that time. We came back this year and stayed in the same suite. It is
still very good. Clean, Great views, very nice staff. It is a huge unit that a
family of 4 has comfortably spent 3 nights in. there is a full size dining table
and jacuzzi tub, plus plenty of room for two roll away beds. It has a complete
Kitchen- mini fridge, cook top, microwave, sink, plus all needed dishes and
equipment for 4 people.
Amenities.
Hot Tub
Great exercise room, better equipped than other hotels I have stayed at.
Ping pong table.
Free bikes to borrow and a list of trails. We are here in the winter and did not
take advantage of that but for summer travelers it might be nice to know about.
There is also a restaurant on site now- White Spot. It was just mediocre. We had
dinner there the first night and made other arrangements after that.
The reasons I did not mark it excellent:
the Sofa needs replacing. we used the sofa bed for one of our kids the first
night- and had to get a rollaway bed for the remainder of our stay, as the sofa
is really uncomfortable- even as a sofa.
the parking is no longer free. it is an additional 15.00 per night.
Finally, in a suite with a kitchen I would expect some sort of paper towels or
napkins-
other than those minor things- it was great.

Hotel location was great, close to downtown, English Bay and Stanley Park. Rooms
were tidy & clean employees courteous and had a White Spot as the restaurant.
Would definitely return. |
