On the way to the hotel, several of the main roads were closed. By the
time we got there, my husband was a little stressed. He dropped me off
at the curb and was unsure as to whether or not he could stay put or
where the parking was. Craig jumped to our rescue. He went outside and
personally guided my husband to the parking. We love Craig! He was also
very personable and helpful at breakfast the next morning. We completed
the St. Regis comment form and mentioned our experience with Craig. We
also mentioned that we loved the room--the windows are pretty much
soundproof (we couldn't hear any street noise), the bathroom was
beautiful, the finishes were nice, and the master power switch is a
great "green" touch. We also mentioned that we loved the sheets. A day
or two later, General Manager Jeremy Roncoroni emailed to say that,
while the company that provides the sheets does not sell to the public,
he would be happy to make the purchase on my behalf. He found out how
much king size sheets were (because they use queen at the hotel), took
my VISA info, made the purchase, and had them delivered to my door in
time for Christmas. The sheets are lovely! We love Jeremy, too! Talk
about service!

I booked this hotel as a result of the reviews here and I wasn't
disappointed!
This hotel really is a gem of a place. Its location is spot on and
central to everything. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the
atmosphere of the place is relaxing and welcoming.
This hotel's biggest asset though is its staff - they are incredible! I
would rate them as amongst the friendliest and most accommodating staff
I have ever come across in a hotel. Always smiling and willing to answer
any questions or offer suggestions on what to do or where to go. From
Housekeeping to the Restaurant to the Front Desk - all went high and
above what was expected to ensure I had a pleasant stay at the St.
Regis. In particular, I would like to thank Brittany on Front Desk who
was an excellent ambassador for the hotel, offering advice which was
second to none and always doing so in a cheerful and welcoming way.
The size of the hotel meant that each guest was treated very well. The
'boutique' approach to things wasn't lost and that personal touch was
very much apparent.
Also, the price was incredible. For a hotel which offers so much, their
price was so cheap! I paid just under 80 euro a night. And that includes
a fantastic complimentary breakfast!
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to
Vancouver. I know I certainly can't wait until I return to the city and
check in again at the St. Regis!

In the run-up to the 2010 Olympics, I had an opportunity to visit
Vancouver for one night. I chose the St. Regis based on reviews, price,
and location. Located about a block and a half away from the City Center
SkyTrain stop ($8.50 from the airport, $3.75 to the airport) in a
Central Business District fringe-type environment, the St. Regis is a
renovated 6(?) story building very close to other downtown hotels and
the main mall.
I found it to be a very clean and fresh smelling place, even in the
smallish lobby. Rooms are accessed by small elevator or a wide, clean,
and well lit stairwell.
I found the room to be on the smaller side of medium being about 12"x15"
and the adjoining bathroom was on the larger side of medium. The
hallways and rooms are done in a grey modern tone. The rooms are
equipped with a 32" flatscreen tv. As others have noted, the mattress
has a thin synthetic protective cover on it. If I didn't dig for it, I
wouldn't have noticed it. I find the first night in any hotel to be a
rough night. Here, I found the bed to be just below what I'd call very
good. The firm mattress is buffered by a relatively thin pillow-top. The
pillows were great.
There has been reviews that mention how noisy the rooms are. I differ on
that completely. This is a hotel in an urban center. There will be noise
is downtown areas. My room was on the second floor on the Dunsmiur St
side (hotel front). I heard very little and my sleep, light as it was,
did not get disturbed by street old building noise. In comparison to
other Vancouver stays (such as the Marriott... 300 feet from the
seaplane terminal) it was soothingly quiet.
On the service front, it was excellent. The front desk staff were warm
and I felt that they were taking care of me. There was a hand written
note welcoming me to my room and it was a nice touch. The hotel is very
mindful of security. The access to the rooms is immediately adjacent to
the front desk *and* you need a room key to activate the elevator at all
times.
No nickle and diming. The water in the room was complimentary, as was
internet (and good internet speed at that). The toiletries are of good
quality and there were two nice bathrobes ready for use.
The room came with breakfast, that is served in a large dining area at
the bottom floor of the hotel. The room is large, open, well lit and
clean. The service was quite good with cheerful, fast, hot food
delivery... substantial quantity too. If I were to change something it
would be the quality of the juice served. The orange juice was
reconstituted watery second grade supermarket box juice... really... not
worth it.
Unless you have to have the the spacious lobby, the extra large
elevators to a high floor, or want to pay 60% more + internet charges,
you should choose the St. Regis. You are very close to everything that
matters and the service is first rate. "Boutique" hotels can be a gamble
at times. The odds are well in your favour at this one. I'll be staying
there again.

This is one of the best boutique hotel I've stayed in. Quality rooms,
comfortable beds (hard to get out of bed), very clean, our breakfast was
included (a really good breakfast!), free internet, and the service was
second to none.
I definitely recommend this hotel. Close to everything, walking
distance. Again the service is excellent. Great staff, friendly and
helpful with great recommendations of places to eat.
We stayed in a 2 double bed room, very roomy, large bathroom. Very
comfortable and clean. Very comfortable beds!
Do consider this place, you won't be disappointed. I would definitely
stay here again.

Great location, very clean, good breakfast. But the beds were extremely
uncomfortable. My back was killing after the first night, were there for
three. My wife had same issue. And we're only 34 years old..... lol.
Anyway, nice hotel, great staff, all of them very very friendly and
helpful.Guest Reviews of the St Regis Hotel Downtown Vancouver

Great location, wonderful hospitality and well appointed Rooms! Convenient to
Canada Line, Expo Line, transit, restaurants and shopping. The staff are most
helpful and friendly. Rooms are modern, clean and nicely decorated. Although
small in scale, this Hotel is big on Heart! Bring your appetite to the delicious
breakfast. You can order eggs (any style), bacon/ham/sausage and potatoes!

We chose the St. Regis for the location, great reviews, and price. The location
is convenient to all forms of public transportation and comfortable walking
distance to many points of interest. While our room was modest in size, the
bathroom was roomy and both were very attractively furnished and decorated in a
modern style. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and just one more reason
to stay at the St. Regis. However, for us, the real delight was the staff we
encountered in every role -- from front desk, to wait staff in the breakfast
lounge, to maid service. One has the impression that employees are treated as
well as guests because everyone is friendly and helpful. Craig, at the front
desk, was especially helpful to us in planning our excursions and finding
restaurants. In fact, he was more knowledgeable and personable than many a
concierge in much larger and better known hotels where we've stayed.

There are a few things we liked about St. Regis - the location, the price, the
complimentary waters, the includive breakfast, etc. The rooms are irregular so
for the same price, your room might vary from one to another. The price (booking
directly with hotel) was the best rates, surprisingly it includes a full
breakfast. The chef himself comes out and ask how you want your eggs and very
generious with the ham, etc. Breakfast also include fresh fruits, cereal, toast,
juice, coffee/tea, etc. He was also very helpful with travel information...
friendly guy.
Just a note, there is no valet guy in the front so if you're driving to this
hotel, have your friend run in and get the garage key card so you can park in
the garage next door, then unload the luggage and take it up yourself. If you do
have a lot of luggage, do it quickly in the front as it has as 3-minute loading
zone. (Turn you emergency light on as the cars are coming fast.)
Location was excellent, walking distance to Robson Street area (meters are
expensive on Robson Street, it's $1 for every 20 minutes). There is also a 7-11
plus another convenient store across from the hotel. Internet is also free in
the lobby area, they have 2 computers, they have free printing also.

We stayed two nights over the x-mas holidays. The room was clean and soothing
with welcoming touches, only bettered by the excellent service. Every
interaction with the hotel staff was helpful and positive. It seemed like every
person who worked there could be the hotel manager. We will definitely return.

What a hotel. Definitely the best hotel to stay in Downtown Vancouver. Great
rooms, very spacious especially the suites. Staff are amazing especially the
breakfast staff. Location is very central on the corner of Robson and Dunsmuir,
1 street parallel to Granville (main shopping street). Will definitely be back.

Stayed here one night. Right on the bus routes, 30 seconds from Skytrain, one
minute to Pacific Centre mall and a short walk to almost anywhere you'd like to
go. Room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was great with 2 sinks
and giant counter and great shower. Only complaint was master switch overrides
bathroom light. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was
excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Found a good deal on the hotel
website with various discounts offered.

This hotel was my refuge during a rather stressful family gathering. The hotel
staff were in general very friendly, joking around (when appropriate) and with
good knowledge of the area. The breakfast was reasonably good, too.
There is an associated (private) health club which I recommend - it's a high-end
club complete with classes etc. The hotel wanted to charge me more for a 'day
pass' to the club than did other hotels nearby, and fortunately the staff at the
health club were helpful and forthcoming about this - saving me quite a bit of
money! If you're planning to use the club do be sure to ask there before
shelling out for the St. Regis discount (it still is a discount, mind, but if
you get a friendly staff member at the club you can do better).
Overall it was a very good value, for a very comfortable, welcoming stay, in a
great location.

Recommended by the travel agent, we stayed here for 3 nights. I loved it! Great
location near the new Skytrain (LRT), shopping, waterfront and seawall. We were
on one of the lower floors, so traffic was a bit loud at times, but didn't
really bug us. Staff were very friendly and helpful and they let us check in 4
hours early. Small room, but very comfortable and stylish. I think the hotel was
just renovated in January 2009? Loved the deep bathtub, spacious bathroom with
granite countertop, bed that felt like a cloud, widescreen TV. The only annoying
thing about the room was the master light switch by the door, meaning if you had
to go to the washroom in the middle of the night, you'd have to turn this switch
on before being able to turn the washroom lights on. Complimentary breakfast was
delicious, with custom eggs, bacon/sausage, and the usual cereal, pastries,
fruit, etc. This was one of my best hotel stays and I would recommend it.

This was my first time to Vancouver BC and I review a lot of different hotels
and i am so glad i picked this hotel. I stayed on the 5th floor -(THE EXECUTIVE
SUITE.) Wow for the money it worth ever dollar.. I usually I stay at a Westin
hotel, this place was modern design and not outdated like some Westin that i
have stayed at. The room was big enough for 1 person. The customer service was
outstanding...from the front desk folks to the restaurant bartender. I stayed in
room 502 and the will ask for the same room my next trip to Vancouver.

The hotel is very central, next to it there are few restaurants,
The receptionists are very helpful,
The room very clean, modern and comfortable,
For the car park you need to pay an extra but not a lot and it is 30 seconds
from the hotel,
I will definitely recommend this hotel

I booked two rooms here and was pleased with them both. The queen room was a bit
snug but was beautifully furnished, great bathrooms and the windows allowed for
a great street view without the street noise. The two-doubles room was quite
large and the bathroom was spectacular - though not a great view. The free
breakfast is above average and the staff was very, very helpful. The location is
very central but the parking situation is a bit crazy. Basically you have to
double park on the street, unload your bags and then have a staff person direct
you around back to the parking garage - there is no valet parking.

We spent a few nights at the St Regis recently and had a brilliant time.
The room was beautifully fitted out with a wonderful en-suite and the staff
could not have been friendlier. Breakfast each day was a feast. I can also
highly recommend the food in the hotel's bar.
