This is a great place to stay if you are wanting to be close to downtown and the
Waterfront station from the airport is about 4-5 blocks away so walking
distance.
I was really happy when we arrived and I enquired about an upgrade and was given
one for free. However the lady that was checking us in kept looking at her watch
and then stopped checking us in half way through because her shift had finished
and someone else came and checked us in, she could have finished checking us in
before leaving, it was very rude.
The room came with free wi-fi and free bottled water each day. The room is very
basic but everything we needed.
On checking out we had the same lady who checked us in at the start and she had
a conversation with people behind us the whole time and barely even acknowledged
us, this staff member was so rude at check in and check out.

I stayed at the Days Inn Vancouver Downtown during an extended business trip to
BC in November. It was recommended by an associate as excellent value in a great
location. In general, I agree. The rooms are small but functional and
comfortable and the location is great in downtown Vancouver. The hotel is clean
and the service at the front desk was good. The only issue I had was with the
window heating unit. As the heating unit turned off or on it made a huge racket
which was loud enough to wake me up in the night. I ended up turning the whole
thing off which made for cool mornings but it worked out. There is no gym in the
hotel but a decent restaurant in the basement where I had breakfast both
mornings. I likely would not stay here again because of the window unit.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a yoga conference at the Vancouver Convention
Centre. Great location, about 2 blocks to VCC and walking distance to
restaurants and shopping downtown. Also easy access to Skytrain (Canada Line) to
the airport and other public transportation. The rooms are small and the
building a little quirky, but everything was spotlessly clean, nice cozy
bedding, lots of pillows and comfortable beds. Most rooms have no view- ie:
cement wall outside our window as the hotel is flanked by buildings on both
sides, but it almost guarantees its going to be quiet, it was very quiet our
entire stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant downstairs
in the hotel had a good breakfast special and is very convenient. Good value in
a great location. Would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

Attended a seminar and stayed for 2nights in this hotel which has a great
location (walking distance to everything-especially the Skytrain 2blocks away)
clean hotel, attentive staff. The General Manager (Ish Awan) is so accommodating
and making sure that everything is ok.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights last week and really enjoyed it.
First, the location in unbeatable. It's a 10-minute walk to the Skytrain, Canada
Place and the waterfront, and a 15-minute walk to Robson Street. The room was
small, but it was clean and that's what mattered. The bathroom was a nice size
as well and had a window, which was nice. We got there hours before check-in and
they had a room available for us.
I read reviews of this place where people complained about the elevator being
slow and small, and while it is tiny, we never had to wait for it. Maybe it's
because we were there during shoulder season and it was just the two of us, but
I don't think we shared the elevator with anyone else during our entire stay.
The front desk and valet were incredibly nice and helpful. My only complaint is
the nighttime desk employee who gave us very vague directions when I asked her
for directions to the nearest Skytrain station, since we were going to take that
to the airport the next morning.
Her, pointing west: "It's about two blocks that way and then up a little ways."
Me: What's the name of the station?
Her: Oh, it's the last stop.
Ummm, yeah, not helpful. Seeing as though we're staying in a hotel, I think it's
safe to assume that we're VISITING and do not know the names of the stations or
the train lines. I rolled my eyes and went to bed and asked the morning-shift
employee who said, "You go out the front door and make a left. Go about two
blocks to Granville and turn left, and the station called Canada Line will be
right in front of you. Take it to southbound to the YVR stop, which is the
airport." Thank you! Now really, was that so hard?
Besides that little hiccup, I have absolutely no complaints about the Days Inn
Downtown Vancouver. It's walking distance to everything. You can do what we did:
walk to the waterfront, take the Sea Walk all the way to -- and through --
Stanley Park, then walk to Robson Street and hang out/people
watch/shop/eat/drink then walk back to the hotel. It's an entire day but well
worth the experience. Also, check out Joey on Burrard, a bar/grill a hop, skip
and a jump from the hotel that does a great job of maintaining a hip, cool vibe
without it being too trendy or pretentious.

Right in the heart of downtown close by tourist attractions, waterfront & cruise
ship terminals, this hotel is value for money. Staff attentive to guests needs,
tho free wifi not available.
Good cooked breakfast available for reasonable price.

We spent one night in the Days Inn on Pender Street. We expected a larger room
for the price but it is what it is. In terms of comfort and cleanliness we had
no complaints. The bathroom was very nice, very clean with nice towels and
toiletries. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful,
allowing an early check-in and pleasantly giving directions when asked. The big
advantage is the central location. We easily walked from the SkyTrain station to
the hotel and also walked to Canada Place, toting our carry-on luggage.

We recently (Sept 2011) stayed at the Days Inn in downtown Vancouver. We had a
very positive experience. The room was clean, they let us check in early at no
additional charge also. We came off a cruise ship and were able to walk to the
hotel, it was that close to the pier, luggage and all. The desk staff were
friendly, and polite and the room was clean. If you need to stay in the downtown
port area this is a good choice.

This hotel has a great location - a short walk to Vancouver's waterfront, the
center of most tourist activity. But the hotel shows its age. The single,
crowded elevator is inadequate to the demand, especially since guest arrive in
bunches as they come and go from cruise ships. Our electronic keys were very
difficult to use, both for access to the elevator and to enter our room. Our
original room, #605, was tiny and, if the bathroom door was left open, the bed
faced the toilet bowl. We objected politely and were rewarded with a suite at no
extra charge. This was a huge change for the better, allowing us and our friends
to convene comfortably for a cocktail before heading out to dinner.
Overall, the place is bland, the furniture often chipped or stained, and the
rooms and halls lack any visual attraction. Oddly, there were two tvs in our
suite, one in each room, but the only phone was in the second room. The
downstairs restaurant was just ok for breakfast.

Because of some grumpy reviews I was a bit worried because this hotel was
cheaper than many nearby; but I stayed just under a week, used the valet
parking, and was totally happy with my room and the service. It is in a
beautiful location, I walked around late at night and felt that it was safe. The
rooms are a bit small, but I found them perfectly functional, not the
just-remodeled glitz you would see in fancier hotels, but no problems with noise
or cleanliness, as some reviews claimed. My friends were in the Westin paying
$50 for wireless when I got it for free!

Our family of 10 stayed at this hotel pre-cruise in July 2011. The rooms were
very small the doors did not close properly. The air conditioners did not fully
cool off the rooms. You could hear seagulls perched outside in the mornings.
This was originally an old hotel poorly renovated. Don't think it measures up to
current Days Inn Standards. Restaurant downstairs for breakfast was ok. Had a
long wait for elevator. Shuttle was good to take us down to cruise terminal.
