Well, I have to say its the most awful place I've ever stayed.. I guess when
your 2005 subaru and most everything you owned is stolen from their free parking
lot it doesn't help. But the next morning when telling the concierge that my car
was stolen and them acting like it was no big deal didn't help. In fact when I
asked if they had seen the car drive by their front window in the middle of the
night they said they were too busy to look up. When I asked them the number to
the police they said the phone book was around the corner. When I asked them if
they had cameras in their lot they said, and I quote, "no cameras.". To top all
that off, I came back to the apt. around 11:30pm and I couldn't get to the
elevator because there was a woman sitting on the floor with clothes all around
her and a dirty diaper blocking the elevator. I thankfully made it back to the
states with just my driver's liscense and I just got a call that they have
recovered my car with a smashed window. So it just makes me wonder how family
owned this hotel really is...
Hope this deters a few people from staying here.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our first night in Vancouver and we were
drawn to it based on the price of the room and the free parking. The staff was
really nice and friendly. I wish that I had been as happy with the room...
Our room smelled like a combination between animal urine and the citrus cleaner
that had been sprayed in an attempt to cover the smell. It was awful and gave us
both a headache.
The mattress was hard as a rock and the exposed bedspring had stains all over
it.
The rate was good for being in downtown, so that is a plus. If you're not going
to be in your room at all then it might be worth it but if I was ever to be in
downtown Vancouver again, I would most definitely spend a bit of extra money for
a nicer hotel room.

I stayed there for 2 nights with my wife and 86 year old mother and it was
acceptable. The rooms were clean and seemed to have been refurbished as the
bathroom and carpet seemed reasonably new and were clean. The front desk staff
were friendly and efficient. There is free parking with in and out privileges
but the parking lot is also public. The front desk advised me that on Friday
nights after about 10 pm, the lot gets filled with young party goers heading to
Granville Street and other nightclub areas. However, when told that we would be
using our car to go for dinner, he said that he wouild try to keep a space for
us. When we returned at about 11 pm we got the last space and he asked us how
was our dinner at QE Seasons Restaurant. I didn't expect that sort of personal
attention in this level of hotel.
It is convenient and within walking distance of False Creek and the Aquabus to
Granville Island so that even my 86 year old mother could handle it.
I would recommend it for travellers looking for a reasonably priced hotel well
placed to explore downtown, Robson Street, Granville Island, and with a long
walk or by bus, Stanley Park.

This is an older hotel but in a great Hotel Location. It has free parking, free in
room wifi and friendly staff. The price for the room was mid range so there were
not alot of amenities, but we were interested in everything the city had to
offer and weren't there for a resort type vacation. We were pleased with the
Hotel Location of the hotel as it was centrally located for almost everything the city
had to offer. We could walk anywhere or get the Trolley tour. We would
definitely stay here again.

Having read some pretty terrible reviews of the Bosman hotel, I was hesitant to
book it for our 4-day stay. However, $99/night (+13% tax) for a hotel in the
centre of downtown Vancouver seemed unbeatable in (this was May '08). When I
learned that price included FREE parking and FREE wireless internet, I decided
to give it a shot (parking at other d/t hotels I checked was ~$25/night).
I warned my boyfriend that the hotel would be dingy and based on some reviews
might be awful... However, after a very smooth check in we walked into our hotel
to find a perfectly standard room. In fact, the first thing my bf said was, "I
don't get it, what's wrong with it?" The point of this story is there is
absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel! It's a typical room, with typical
hotel decorations, TV, hair drier, etc. that you'd expect from a budget hotel.
Granted, there's nothing fancy about it either; but for the price, you wouldn't
expect fancy!
The Hotel Location is fantastic - smack downtown and walking distance to many tourist
attractions. The room was quiet (I asked for the quietest room when booking and
was recommended to take a room facing the parking lot rather than Howe St.,
which I did). The mattress & pillows were comfy. Everything in the room worked.
The few negatives I can think of: shower pressure is pretty awful and the view
out the window at the parking lot was not at all pretty. Maybe this would be
disappointing had this been an expensive/upscale hotel, but given the price and
Hotel Location I can overlook these minor downsides.
So overall, I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Bosman. For
budget travelers planning to spend more time in the city than in the hotel room,
the Bosman is a steal! Safe travels.

I found the hotel good for its value. Given that I paid 50% less than, say, the
Holiday Inn next door, there should be no illusion that the hotel is going to be
the same class as the other ones. The Hotel Location is great, and everything is okay
but not great. The light fixtures are a bit old, but working.
I have no problem with the staff. Parking may be difficult at night on weekends,
though.
Considering that a private room at a nearby hostel cost only $10 less a night, I
think Bosman's is good value.

My girlfriend and I were foolish enough to travel to Vancouver, BC on Memorial
Day weekend, without a hotel reservation. Needless to say, everything in the
city was booked. Except for Bosman's. We drove our car up to the hotel, asked
about the rate, and were stoked on the price - $99. Not bad. Well, the low price
should have been the first red flag. But we booked the room anyway, out of pure
desperation.
So what was wrong with Bosman's? I think a better question is what is right with
the place...absolutely nothing. The desk host was a rude, scuzzy man with a bad
comb over. The lobby and hallway reeked of industrial strength cleaner. The
carpets were dirty and torn up. The elevator belongs in a haunted house, as
you're never sure if you're going to get stuck in it on the way up to your room.
Once in your room, you're hard pressed to find anything good to say about it. I
almost vomited in my mouth. The lamps where broken, the duct taped shower head
sprayed water clear across the bathroom, the toilet didn't work, the towels
where the size of napkins, the fan sticking out the window sounded like a jet
engine, and to top it all off, the bed sheets had mysterious jizz stains all
over them! Jizz stains! Barf.
My girlfriend and I barely held it together there, and ended up grabbing out
sleeping bags out of the car and carefully avoided the dirty sheets. I'm hard
pressed to think of a worse experience. I'd rather have slept in a cardboard box
or something...Too bad this site doesn't have negative numbers for ratings, as
Bosman's deserves the lowest possible rating. Do yourself a favor and learn from
our mistake - book your room in advance, and avoid Bosman's like the plague
(which you'll probably catch by staying there). Good luck!

When we checked in earlier in the day, the staff was great, very friendly and
helpful. We didn't actually come back to the hotel with our bags until the
evening, and that's when the problems began. To start things off, the night
deskman was incredibly rude, and made us pay to bring up a guest who wasn't even
staying in the room with us, just visiting. Then, after spending the last few
days camping, we naturally wanted showers, and to our disappointment, the shower
didn't work. We called down to the front desk to ask if we could get some
assistance, and the man told us to jiggle the lever until it worked. We did
that, no luck. We called again, asked the front desk guy to come up to the room
to show us, and he refused, saying "Haven't you ever heard of a bath?", and
essentially hung up on us. He said he was too busy to help us, nice. It was
10PM, how busy could he be? Finally, after getting nowhere, we asked for our
money back so we could go somewhere else that had WORKING SHOWERS (What I would
think was a standard amenity in a hotel) and he refused. So here we are, stuck
in a room with a broken shower, not to mention an air conditioner that just blew
room temperature air at us, on our last night in the city. It was a
disappointing end to an otherwise awesome visit to Vancouver. There are plenty
of other well priced hotels in the city, I highly recommend reviewing your
options carefully before staying here.
