Guest Review of the Westin Grand Hotel Vancouver

The rooms have a kitchenette, which is very practical. It is beside the grocery
store so it is easy to stock up on food. However, the fridge is tiny and filled
with mini-bar items, leaving little room for you food. Room is dated (older
carpet) but very clean. No table to eat - only a coffee table. My internet was
complementary with my rate, but I think everyone should get wifi, in 2011, there
is no reason to charge guests for wifi. Very slow elevators (only 2 for 30
floors). Very comfortable bed. Good stay, excellent location and service. My
hotel of choice when in Vancouver for business. 4 stars for value.

I stayed here with my family in May while my wife was attending a conference
nearby. We booked two connecting rooms so that we would have enough room for all
of us (2 adults, 2 young kids). To our disappointment, when we arrived we were
told that we could not have connecting rooms as such requests are "not
guaranteed". They gave us two rooms on different floors which obviously was not
helpful. We elected to all stay in one room. To the hotel's credit, when I
complained to the manager during checkout, he knocked off one night's charge.
This made things more palatable but I would have rather have paid the full rate
and had connecting rooms as planned.
The hotel itself is new and nicely appointed but when we return to Vancouver
(several trips a year) we will be at the Four Seasons as usual.

I've stayed here a few times when visiting Vancouver. I had a suite on the 30th
floor. It's small but clean with a queen size bed. Staff is friendly and bell
staff very attentive. Central location. Only wish they had more elevators.

It is only about 6 blocks to shopping from this hotel. These are all suites
which is nice as you get a kitchenette and living room. Parking is 26 or 31 for
valet which is steep. Mostly a business hotel this is not ideal for children.
Internet is 15 per day extra so get ready to pay for extras. Overall it is a
nice hotel and has a high end restaurant. Frankly it is next door to a market so
you can use the kitchenette instead
