Guest Review of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel

I was in Vancouver at the Sheraton Wall Centre recently and stayed in their
South Tower (for the first time - my many other visits I've been in the North
Tower). The room was fantastic, I'm not sure why others have posted negatively
about this tower. The view was amazing, the bed was incredibly comfortable and
the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The staff make you feel welcome
and their location can't be beat. This is why I keep coming back again and
again.

I attended a business conference at the hotel. The rooms were modern and
pleasing with great views. The elevators require that you insert your room key
first before ascending (nobody told us, so we went up and down when the buttons
weren't responsive until another hotel guest showed us). Restaurants and
shopping are a couple blocks away. The front desk and room attendants were
excellent. The catering staff for the morning breakfast at the conference were a
bit rude and rushed us to leave when we still had 20 minutes before the start of
the morning session.

Stayed here for 5 nights in the South Tower. Reached out to the reservations
department prior to my arrival to inquire about a special request and Cathy was
very gracious in ensuring our vacation got off on the right foot. The 2 bedroom
suite we had was spacious and comfortable which is important when you're a party
of 5. Room was clean and has a small kitchen which was perfect for keeping
drinks and snacks available. Housekeeping was even generous enough to leave us a
few extra bottles of water knowing that we had both bedrooms occupied. Gary in
the club lounge was very helpful in ensuring we were armed with the best local
travel knowledge based on the days events. This not only saved us a few bucks,
but also time not having to figure out the best way to get from point A to B to
C. Everyone from the check in counter to the concierge was pleasant, courteous
and eager to ensure our stay was the very best. The hotel is conveniently
located to restaurants, shopping, public transit, etc. There was no need for us
to rent a car while venturing around the city as everything we needed was so
easily accessible. I'll definitely check out this hotel again the next time my
travels take me to Vancouver.

Great king size bed, nice view. Bathroom had a musty odour we noticed as soon as
we entered. Upon investigation, we noticed the sink drain was plugged and slow
to drain. Reminded me of the drain at home when too much hair gets caught.
Shower was fine, but good that we did not choose a bath because that drain was
plugged too. Noticed the toilet seat was exceedingly loose, so I just got down
on the floor and tightened up those bolts. Easy to fix. We flushed the toilet
and noticed the toilet "ran", so I just took the top off and we jiggled the
mechanism each time we flushed. My wife thought we should complain, but I really
hate making a fuss. After all, who hasn't encountered a few plumbing issues in
their time? Upon checkout, we filled in a comment card with our phone number for
them to contact us if they choose. I am sure they must have called by now, but
we've been out a lot and must have missed their call. I bet they are really busy
so I understand completely. Tourism is really strong everywhere right now.

The view and the location are great, and the bed itself was very comfortable.
The customer service was lacking. I reported an issue with our blinds
immediately, and it was never resolved. I was told they were unable to move us
to another room. Fortunately the blinds on the other side opened to allow to use
actually see the view. It was a very anonymous stay. The modern decor in the
rooms just looked cheap.
