Guest Reviews of the Listel Hotel Vancouver

I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about, but we
checked in and checked out in two hours. We were on my wife's 40th
birthday trip (Seattle, Vancouver, Whistler) and her birthday was during
our stay in Vancouver -- there was no way we were staying in the hotel
for her 40th birthday. No bellman when we arrived, front desk help was
OK, the hotel is EXTREMELY TIRED, the art thing is way overdone, decor
is outdated, beds were bad, and bathroom was bad. Similar to another
recent review ("I felt duped"), we felt completely mislead by the
reviews. I also think that end of Robson is getting pretty spotty, you
really want to be about 3 blocks further east, or a few blocks off
Robson.

Good service at the desk; helpful with directions. Early check-in with
no problems. Comfortable room. Hotel has good security - no access to
upper floors without a key card. Wonderful neighborhood for walking and
eating. A far better choice than the big hotels downtown.

My 75-year old mother and I stayed at the Listel during a driving trip
across western Canada. Front desk staff here were the friendliest and
most helpful of all nine hotels we stayed at during our trip. They were
genuinely interested in finding out what we wanted to do (activities),
what kind of food we wanted (restaurants) and where we wanted to go
(destinations) so they could provide up-to-date recommendations and
driving directions. Security is good: the hotel elevators require key
cards. We didn't try the restaurant but went across the street instead
to a local coffee shop and a very good creperie.
Room Tip: The museum floor rooms had a nice mix of cultural items,
interesting furniture and hallway displays.

My wife and I stayed here two nights on our honeymoon and we are glad we
did. The room was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. The best
part, though, is the location of The Listel. It couldn't be in a better,
more happening part of Vancouver. It's on Robson Street, which we
discovered to be a real cultural hotspot in town. The Listel is also
very close to the harbor and to Stanley Park, which is a must for anyone
visiting Vancouver. We would definitely stay at The Listel Hotel again.

Amazing service, spotless rooms, great restaurant with jazz but a tiny
bit pricey

my wife and i stayed at the hotel for three nights, the hotel staff were
very helpful, the hotel is well located making it easy to get around
Vancouver. the only downside was the restaurant. we had breakfast there
three times, the first two mornings the staff were miserable, no smiles
, no good days, and service was poor. we had a better waiter on the last
day. we ate their one evening, the food was good but again the attitude
of the staff was poor. the restaurant lacks a buzz, the restaurant
management were disconnected which was shame as for that reason i would
not go out of my way to stay there again. |
