Good hotel with plenty of room space and tea making facilities. The
hotel is very tidy with a souvenir shop and there is parking. Beds were
very clean and comfortable. We had two children with us and there was a
separate room for them. Overall a very good hotel but the parking was
not included in the price.

We stayed at this hotel (we had 2 rooms booked) after the long haul from
Australia & before joining Canadian Rockies/Alaskan Tour. The hotel is
centrally located to downtown Vancouver which was ideal for us & the
Hop-on Hop-off tour bus picked up directly opposite.
The hotel staff were friendly & helpful, although we had to struggle up
with our luggage on arrival, with no concierge available when we
arrived. Our rooms faced the street, however noise was minimal.
The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable & the tariff reasonable
for a city hotel.
Yes, the hotel is tired and in need of a refurbish, however, we found it
more than adequate for our needs and would stay there again.

The hotel was arranged for us by Rocky Mountaineer before and after our
train trip. The location was great - close to nightlife, though not
exactly our "speed". We did find good places to eat, though. The area is
beautiful and made for great walking. The hotel staff was very friendly
and helpful, we especially enjoyed Tim the bartender. The rooms were
clean but smelled like former smoking rooms they tried to disguise.

the hotel is wonderfully well situated for shopping and eating. The
people are very nice! You have to try the waffles for the breakfast.
However if you ever need internet access, you will have to go to the
Starbucks across the street as the wifi is so slow, we were desperate.
The only time it was working a little bit better was at 4pm, not very
convenient. I don't know if it is Canada but I found it expensive for
the standard of the room offered.

My husband and I and our two friends stayed here for one night before
embarking on an Alaska cruise, and again on our return from the cruise
for three nights before travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer. We had
lovely rooms with excellent facilities and greatly enjoyed the buffet
breakfast every day! The hotel was in a very good location for
sightseeing and we were able to walk almost everywhere and also caught
the hop on hop off tour bus right opposite the hotel.
The staff were very helpful although the lady in the gift shop in
reception was rather rude and pushy - so we bought our postcards
elsewhere!

We arrived at 2 pm and we not allowed to check in until 4pm (there is no
check in times posted on their website) We had to find something to do
until that time, not to mention parking in Vancouver is hard, even more
so since our car could not fit in their parking garage so we had to park
in an open lot across the street. when we got to our room our air
conditioner did not work and seeing it was summer and very warm outside
and we were walking around for a few hours until we checked in, we could
not cool down very well. It took them 2 hours to find us another room
with a working air conditioner. The rooms were clean, and finally it was
a relief to go to bed on the first night. The next day after a long day
of touring the city - Tuesday mind you, We had dinner and headed to bed
around 7pm and when we got to our room we could not go to bed. There was
some sort of party in the bar below us till 2am in the morning. If it
were the weekend I would not have been so bad as there would have been
more for us to do in the evening, but a Tuesday and the next day we had
to drop a friend off at the airport. They should have a least let us
know ahead of time or not put us in that particular room. Most places
have a say in what can go on in the building especially a hotel holding
the majority of the space that is being used, as they would want their
customers coming back. It was horrible for us and we were exhausted from
our 3 day vacation not rested/relaxed. Be careful when booking this
hotel for your stay and ask a lot of questions. Ask for a room higher
than the 2nd floor and not on the far side of the building. |
