Review of the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel Vancouver
20 November 2011
We stayed here in mid November for 2 nights and we very
pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. I believe it
is listed at a 3.5 star hotel, but it is definitely closer to 4.
I booked the room through Hotwire at the excellent price of
$86/night. Apart from getting a room with 2 double beds ( it is
Hotwire after all), you can't beat the price for the location.
I agree with the majority of positive reviews here and would
like to highlight the following:
Pros
*Downtown location, next to the Marriott Pinnacle and other
similar hotels
*Clean, bright rooms with iPod docking stations
*free Wi Fi everywhere
*large format soaps and lotions in the bathroom
*Absolutely excellent service from check in to room service to
guest services
* pet friendly hotel/non smoking rooms
Cons
*located a bit further away from the entertainment district but
well within easy walking distance
*no bathrobes
*in room coffee was really bad--actually un drinkable. The brand
was very good, but I suspect there was a problem with the coffee
maker, I.e. cleaners not rinsed out properly or similar. The
same brand coffee delivered through room service was great.
I would stay here again for sure. It's an excellent choice for
business or leisure.

Hotel is modern, well appointed, great location. Front counter
staff were very helpful and accommodating to my schedule. Room
was spotless, bedding crisp, and free wi fi! Large windows
overlook either a city view or the Burrard inlet. Top shelf all
around...

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. Upon check in was advised
that I was receiving an upgrade to a King Superior room. I was a
little giddy when I opened the door to the 20th floor (top
floor) room facing the inner harbour. Very nice.
Room decor is modern and sleek. Very comfortable with all the
amenities. Lovely linens on the bed which was very comfortable
but a little on the firm side.
Bathroom was well equipped with lotion, bath gel and shampoo.
Missing however was hair conditioner. If you have long hair and
use conditioner be sure to bring your own.
The staff at the front desk were fabulous and very friendly.
Felt very comfortable.
Would highly recommend this property for your stay while in
Vancouver.

We stayed here for five nights in October. Got upgraded to a
corner room with a fantastic view of the harbour. Friendly
staff. Great facilities, loved the pool, Jacuzzi and gym too.
Paid a great price and would recommend it to anyone.

I had the opportunity to stay in the hotel for the first weekend
in July 2011. We arrived the Friday evening and was greeted by
the friendliest doorman ever! Once we checked in, our room was
upgraded with compliments and we had a beautiful view of Coal
Harbour and a little patio to enjoy the sunshine.
I absolutely love the spacious bathroom and shower. We could
both get ready for a night out at the same time without falling
over each other's feet with our his' and hers sink and ample
space for all the other bathroom necessities that women carry
around :)
Very well done indeed. I love the decor and the cleanliness,
crisp clean feel of the hotel as well as the fantastic recycling
program they have "think Green" is the way to go.
