Guest Review of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel
25 September 2011
I booked this hotel at a discounted price of about 40% through Priceline and it
was a great value for the amount I paid, but I believe that at full price it
would have been too expensive for what they offer.
The hotel location is great, right in the middle of downtown Vancouver and a
short walk from many attractions (or you can easily catch a bus if you don't
feel like walking).
The room was a rather small, but with a very comfortable bed and a great view of
the city (I asked a room in a high floor and they were able accommodate my
request)! They also offer free Wi-Fi in the room, but the connection was a bit
slow...
Overall, I recommend this hotel. I know that good hotels in downtown Vancouver
aren't too cheap, but I believe there are probably other hotels in downtown
Vancouver which are just as good as this Sheraton but cheaper. But since we got
a great deal through Priceline, it was well worth it!

Good location, walking distance to lots of different places. They have two
different towers, we were in the one that had the cafe and bar. The rooms have
nice long windows and wonderful beds.

Our three night stay was in a room with two double beds on a high floor in the
South Tower. The room was clean, nicely decorated and bedding was satisfactory,
but the room was uncomfortably small and should not have been furnished with
more than one queen sized bed. In addition, the available self-parking was
located under the North Tower and extremely inconvenient, requiring both a
change of elevators and a long walk. It was also expensive. Self parking in the
hotel's garage amounted to almost 20% of the regular room price and over 30% of
discounted price we paid. Valet parking would have cost even more and the
receptionist was unable to suggest an alternative. A significant charge for
parking is not uncommon at downtown hotels, but I believe this was excessive.
This hotel is well suited to business travelers, especially those attending a
convention or seminar at the hotel. It is less appropriate for vacationers.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for the second time in the last year. I was
very satisfied with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. The bathroom
was a decent size. The location couldn't be better; a couple of blocks from
Robson Street, a wine boutique attached to the Sutton Hotel that was open till
7pm on a Sunday. Right in front of the wine boutique, there was a Japadog stand!
This hotel is walking distance to basically everything in the downtown area.
Great restaurants along Burrard, such as Joey's Wine Lounge and Cactus Club
Cafe. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I stayed at this property for 12 nights with my mum on a holiday from Australia.
My mother is 81 and has dementia and the long trip and new surroundings lead her
to being quite disoriented upon arrival. The hotel is lovely and I would
recommend the facilities to any traveller. More importantly, I would like to
commend the Assistant Reservations Manager, Cathy Chan, who went above and
beyond what I would have expected in the level of service she provided. It is
obvious that her philosophy is that a guest is not just another number and that
each guest’s special requirements are taken into consideration. Thank you Cathy
and the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel for a fantastic stay! |
