Guest Review of the Coast Plaza Hotel Vancouver

We have stayed at the Coast Plaza many times over the years. We always enjoy our stay and this trip was no exception. This hotel meets all of our requirements: clean, great location, value, and it has great staff too.

English Bay and the seawall are practically just outside the door and Stanley Park is Just minutes away, as are Coal Harbour and False Creek (Granville Island). Easy public transportation on Denman makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. There are MANY restaurants on Denman covering a broad range of cuisines. If one is looking for a relaxing stay with easy access to fabulous walking and views and food, I can't think of a better location.

Our 22nd floor room had a view of English Bay. A grocery store in the complex at street level is convenient to get fruit and other staples. The kitchenette with a fride is very useful on a longer stay.

My only negative comment is that, in our room, Wi-Fi was very slow.

We are looking forward to our next visit.

Really liked the located in the west end, so many stores and amenities are right around the corner.

The one bedroom suite was very spacious. We asked for a room with a view but they said we'd have to pay extra for that? I guess I should have said a room on a higher floor since they put us on the first floor... with no view at all except facing the hotel generator? Not sure if it was a generator but it made noise.

Room was nice and spacious, but I found it to be very dark (even though it was sunny outside)
Kitchen lights didn't work at all. There were no regular lights in the bedroom either, except for the table lamp.

I read many reviews prior that the rooms need updating so I knew what to expect! Overall a decent hotel to stay in if you get a good deal on a room. Disappointed we couldn't get any room higher up though.

This hotel is very convenient for the bars and restaurants on Gilford St. It's clean and the staff very helpful.

What a great location and facility. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite with commanding view of English Bay beach whichnis only a block away. There has to be about 50 restaurants within a short stroll, a huge food store and drug store in the mall below the hotel itself. Stanley park is only a few blocks away! FREE wireless Internet too!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the south facing side if you want the view of the beach and ocean....north and west side let's you see the mountains.

I stayed here August 2009, as the last stop of my west coast road trip with three friends.

The hotel is in a great locations, the room was a good size with a kitchenette, and a balcony. The hotel is dated tho, and the bedroom with the two beds are literally next to each other maybe a foot of space between them. Not impressed with it but besides that its a great locations, close to bars, shops, and the beach.
