I love this location. It's tucked off to the side, but easy to find if
you're driving. The views are gorgeous. The staff is great. The rooms
are spacious, we even had a little deck area. Starbucks is right
downstairs and there's also a great little restaurant within walking
distance if you want to hang out and have a beer and get some food. We
drove past a lot of the other downtown hotels, and I'm glad we chose to
stay where we did. They had a least four proms going on and we didn't
hear a thing.

We stayed three nights prior to joining a cruise ship. The cruise
company recommended the hotel to us and overall it was a good
recommendation. The position is absolutely perfect, as first time
visitors to Vancouver it was central to the majority of the attractions.
We were upgraded because we had requested a room on the executive floor,
they do not have such a floor however they did give us a room with a
view of the bay which was spectacular. Our stay did not start well, we
had 6 bags to carry once we got out of our taxi and there was no porters
to assist. Having struggled inside there was a long queue at the check
in desk which didn't help our mood after a long flight. The decor
appeared a little "tired", however the dark brown colour scheme did not
help.
However the room was comfortable and the staff were generally very
efficient. We only ate breakfast in the hotel which was very expensive.
Perhaps this relates to a difference of culture, Europeans in general
eat small healthy breakfasts whilst you cannot help but notice our
American cousins tend to eat very large meals at breakfast which
probably explains the high price charged.
We had chosen restaurants for dinner from reviews prior to arriving,
however right outside the door of the hotel was an Italian restaurant
which was excellent. We ate there twice.
The hotel was very busy as there was a large convention in Vancouver at
the time and the hotel was also the venue for television programme
"Canada's Got Talent" which made every day very interesting to say the
least.
We will be visiting Vancouver again and we will certainly use the Westin
Bayshore again and already stated its position cannot be beaten.
Hopefully they will have redecorated by then!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Westin which was the final leg
of our honeymoon trip. The hotel is situated in a perfect position on
the waterfront and a short distance from Stanley Park, restaurants and
shopping districts. Spacious modern rooms, great showers and nice
toiletries. Fantastic indoor and outdoor pools which were nice and warm.
A smart hotel with friendly staff, would highly recommend. We didn't
have a car with us but heard from others that the parking is a little
expensive so might be worth investigating if you plan to take yours with
you. Tip - there's a lovely restaurant opposite the hotel called
Cardero's, definitely worth a visit

We spent a few nights at this hotel after reserving through a discount
website. Upon checking-in, we were offered upgrades to rooms with bay
views for more $'s. We declined the upgrades as we were already being
charged $36 for self-parking. So we ended up with a room that was not in
the "tower" block and a "partial bay" view - which in itself was great.
I guess if you do end up upgrading, the view would be even more scenic!
This was our second experience with the Westin brand and found that they
charge for Wi-Fi access at $15 per device - that is just nuts in this
digital age! As noted above parking ain't cheap either. No complimentary
breakfasts - maybe they expect only *rich* folks to stay at this brand
of Sheraton.
We did not eat at the restaurants as they were far more expensive than
eating at the many restaurants, with plenty of choice, that are located
on Robson St about a five minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff
were very efficient and professional.
I deducted one star from the rating due to the "nit-picking" fees
imposed on Wi-Fi. Having said that, we will definitely consider staying
here again just for the location and also if the price is right!
