Guest Review of the Westin Grand Hotel Vancouver

Stayed here recently for work (didn't feel like driving home for the two days).
The Westin Grand is different than other Westins ... more boutique style. It is
right on Robson with shopping close by. The hotel is on the smaller side though
all the rooms are suites; and all the rooms are different (ask for a room ending
in 3 or 9). I was in room 2000 (nothing fancy) but a suite none the less.
Standard Westin bedding and bathroom supplies. IThere is a bar fridge that you
can use during your stay. I did get lunch in the lounge which was good though
expensive. Service throughout was pretty good; parking is $26 per day for self
parking. I would say the Grand is a good hotel but if I was staying as a
traveller in Vancouver, I would want to be close to the water myself (which the
Grand is not). Pan Pacific and Westin Bayshore are good options (plus close to
Gastown and Stanley Park). If not staying by the water is OK for you, this is a
good option depending on price (I paid $150 per night).

I stayed at the Westin for work. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms
are wonderful. They are set up like suites so you have 2 rooms, one living room,
one bedroom. The bathroom is very roomy as well. The only downside with the
hotel is that you have to pay for internet and usage at the business center. The
staff was helpful and the atmosphere was inviting.

I stayed here for work and was very pleased with the experience. Centrally
located and well appointed. I was upgraded to a suite with separate living area
which was great (I am returning for work and will book the same level of room)

Although we didn't stay long, we had a very relaxing time. The staff were
pleasant and smiley. We brought out dog and everything was ready for her too in
the room, with dog dishes and a big doggy bed. The room was large, comfy and
very bright. I was surprised there was a little kitchen with dishes and sink.
The Hidden restaurant is one stop I would recommend. Great food, great service,
lobster poutine and crab mac N cheese were delicious. Finished it off with an
oreo cheesecake!
Great stop for a vacation even if you live in the city and just need a night
from the regular routine!

Stayed at the Westin recently, got a good (not great) price through
Hotwire...not as good as winter prices thru
Priceline ...but, was well worth it....Room wasn't clean upon arrival (3ish)
so they offered an upgrade to the penthouse...well, half the penthouse...closed
with a door/wall you couldn;t see...was lacking in "suite" and bed was
pullout...which would not have sufficed had it been for more then one
night....In fact, the entire 1/2 penthouse would not have sufficed if more than
one night...very tight in space. Nice TV. Although told it has a
kitchenette...doesn't. But the view was to die for..and the windows were
spotless...that was what I paid for and was happy to do so...from new bc place
roof to library, to water, to north shore, to 3 of the 5 sails...could see it
all. Fantastic. Also offered free breakfast in the morning (omelet bar and
assortment of light breakfast fare), and a fruit and water (basket)...a plum, an
apple, an orange and a bottle of water (disappointing), and free internet. Late
checkout of noon was also great. Second time visiting this hotel and have been
pleased both times. Parking was a load off as well....well lit, and did not have
to pay! |
